I'm currently reviving a 73 C10 and after getting it pretty much road ready there's one hell of a thump from the driver's rear area. With the truck up on Jack's and the wheels spinning It all looks out of round, I'm thinking my axle shafts are bent because this thing sat for 40 years with a camper in the bed.
why not replace the bearings while your in there? also looks like a ridge where seal rides..which could be bearing issue. for the cost of already being there, id replace the bearings and check the shims because im sure they are worn. this is why i do my own, over looked shit leads to overlooked problems. I have yet to have one customer complain that I am being to cautious for the extra cost

60s early 70s chevy truck with coil springs gmc back then had leaf spring
