I saw not to nail closer than 4" from the outside ends...but I think you did that in the video?
Would a 1 1/4" Brad nail work for 11/16" qr?

Some good tips in this video but you didn’t tell us how to measure the proper angle after determining it was not 45° (for an outside corner).
Yeah, I was also hoping they'd chat about that.
Just get two scrap pieces and cut different angles until you find the perfect fit.
