- Here is a song I just wanted to check out because I love this band! It is a cover of X Japan's song Kurenai! It is from my Thursday livestream! The sound they get blows me away evertime.

Fun thing is that the drummer that left in 2021 is usually the one recording these. Hes credited with a link in the description on each of the videos to his personal youtube. So they obviously still have a great relationship with him if he's still assisting behind the scenes.
This is another band that is on my bucket list to see! I hope one day they tour the US! It always amazes me how full they sound being just a three piece band!
I'll be in line as soon as they come to the U.S.

I don't think there are many rock bands from Japan who have not done Kurenai at least once, at least live.
This is one of, if not the signature song for X-Japan, and probably the most well known metal/rock song in Japan.
Cacharic Spin have it on their CZcams channel with two of the small kids in a kid band (seen that band both as the awesome kid band, mini mini kid band, etc.- think the bass girl is 7 in that one, and her brother on guitar 8, or 9).

Sokoninaru is simply musical genius personified. Absolutely love this Band. With Band-Maid, Sokoninaru, GacharicSpin and Hiromi Uehara, I could survive musically until the end of my days I guess ... well let's add som Rory Gallagher and SRV to it for nostalgic reasons 🙂 Thanks, more Sokoninaru please, they also did a cool cover of Megitsune of Babymetal.

Ryan, you did it again!!! I love Sokoninaru, but I had not heard this song. Thanks for the setup with X-Japan video beforehand. It just showed how talented and amazing Sokoninaru is. Wow!!

Aaah.. .Misaki's voice.. I can listen to her sing for hours on end (Absolutely nothing against Juko and Saito's voices either). Their instrumentals are always spectacular, but their vocal arrangements are always top notch too.
Wouldn't mind seeing a double header gig Sokoninaru and Asterism.
Yup, this cover is really awesome and ranks only razor-thin behind Nemophila's version for me. That you don't seem to know Nemo's version yet comes as a bit of a shock to me, to be honest. It's an absolute must-see! (imo). 🔥🤘🏻

Different tempo also, i think sokoninaru faster than original. Double bass and guitar solo ia dope
This is definitely a Luna Sea tinged arrangement and then some, Juko's FX and phrasing-wise is channeling Sugizo's style more than hide, the bass tonally & in terms of melodic function is being used in similar way to J's with Luna Sea and the drum fills are more Shinya in style than Yoshiki.
Luna Sea were effectively X-Japan's 'little brothers' kinda band starting out, hide mentored them and got them signed to Yoshiki's indie label for their first deal and these days Sugizo has also taken on the role of hide (RIP) in X-Japan. They had some similar influences but also were/are massively into the 80s shoegaze & psychedelic scene, so it makes sense for SOKONINARU to do an arrangement more in their style.
Unfortunately the Nemophila rehearsal studio cover is the version of the song with full English lyrics that really hamstrung mayu vocally, they just don't flow nearly as smoothly as the original. Show-ya version is pretty good.

Thanks for checking this version by SOKONINARU, brilliant,,,, but,,, NEMOPHILA did a better version of it, to me it is Nemofila best cover ever !!!
On another note, for the absolute best SOKONINARU cover, by far, search “suspended 4th” (they mash up 3 songs, live in 1 take ) you will be speachless, even after watching it 10 times, there are no words to describe it
