- Today I have a tool for you. This is a used vintage watch crystal press which is still in production. Parts and accessories can still be ordered from:

I own one of these tools, but I did not have any success installing a pocket watch crystal 😑
I have this tool plus some add ons that are still being sold by GS. I have installed a few case backs and crystals. Works pretty ok but I bet there are more modern solutions out there.
Great video! It's hard to find stuff about this particular press, but I just got mine from eBay as well. I am a bit concerned I will eventually need to buy another press for crystals with date windows, since none of the dies for the G-S press appear to have a cutout. However, for now I think I may be able to make this press do everything I need. Subscribed to the channel as well 👍.
Thanks for your comment. I guess you could modify the dies to fit around the cyclops. Is that what you were talking about?
@@HeikosGarage Yep, exactly, the cyclops. Modifying a die could work. How did you contact G-S to order the replacements? Just through their website?
@@awdturbopowah773 yes. Just emailed them to the address listen on their page.
@@HeikosGarage 👍Thanks!
Thank you for the video! I just picked up the same set with sizes 1-19, but I’m missing the main cup on the bottom. Hopefully I am still able to buy that from them similar to what you did. Do you know what the plastic inserts cost? I believe I’m going to buy those as well. Thanks for the vid! Helped a lot in making my purchase.
I just checked my records. The plastic ring inserts were $30 for the kit.
If you have issues buying the lower cup, let me know. I can make you one out of aluminum but i think that stuff is all available.
Call G-S directly. Here is their number 585.241.2370
Good luck
@@HeikosGarage great! I sent them a message. Would you say the plastic rings are worth the money?
@@morganmallory1198 absolutely. They fit perfectly and really help to protect surfaces.
@@HeikosGarage good to know. I got my kit for only 55 so I was pumped on that! Thanks again! I believe I could make the bottom piece too, maybe even out of wood, but I’m hoping they have it.
