Thank you for this one I just got done visiting my mother-in-law in West Virginia she's been mean to me for 40 years for no reason her husband is fine towards me just not her she just says mean things and treats me unkindly I don't give it back I just tried to ignore it I always have and I wonder if I had stood up to her if it would have made things better but I kind of doubt it I just think some people aren't capable of knowing that they're mean

Several mean people in my family and in laws….They are mean over and over and became even meaner because I decided to continue to be happy and nice. Eventually it was a burden for me to try to continue to be happy and nice as I was hurt and sad. They took my light away so then I removed myself from them. They turned even meaner when I was nice. It must have given them permission to get meaner cause I was nice. Never did find the answer. They wanted me out and continued to hurt me
After my sister broke my TV and punched it in front of me inside my apartment, her birthday is coming up and I’m going to give her something nice 😤

Or a sociopathic narcissist wife. Also runs away anytime I call on the name Jesus Christ… it’s one of her tells.
My little sister is a lazy, entitled, thief who refused to help me empty my hoarder mother's house (except when she snuck in 3x before the estate was officially opened and rifled through my mother's jewelry drawer).
Now that the house is 95% emptied by me, she walks into my old bedroom and demands one of the nice few things I chose to keep for myself! She had repeatedly said throw all my mother's things away and didn't even clean out her own room full of 50 years worth of free storage of her own junk.
She doesn't want me to be compensated for the physical labor I put into about emptying out about 5 roll-offs of junk nor pay me the statute-mandated executor fee which got wasted on lawyers due to another relative's interference. I am so hurt & confused, I may need to go into a psychiatric hospital to avoid going off my rails.

Even if people do ask for donations after a sermon wouldn’t you want to feed that which feeds you? That’s the whole point of giving and tithing to sustain one another especially the church
I run away from anger, confrontation, or under handed tactics.
I cry then I end up having to take extra heart medication and an anxiety medication because I automatically go into panic mode and can’t function.
I’m dealing with a situation where I’m living in fear.

I hear what this fellow is saying BUT for 12 years in a CHRISTIAN school (where I taught) total unfairness going on .The coordinator was weak in her role as manager which then has a spiral effect going straight down ⬇️ . Because she was weak she could not hold the ship up. Rules, work expectations, bullying of other teachers ( if you didn’t fit in.)
I had an excellent 12 years there including my relationship with my students and their parents or guardians and certain teachers in the staff. I completely stayed away from her group . No I did NOT want to be a part of what I witnessed on several occasions.Here’s the thing- After 12 years of “ being kind” it gets OLD. VERY OLD.
My boss and I had several conversations, I tried to explain how imp team building was ect… It was all great in front of her face but then the ball would drop when it was her rightful place to implement.
I did not want to leave. I felt I HAD to leave. It was like watching a horrible MORAL ISSUE movie. I finished my last contract and then put my resignation in one week after. I was VERY KIND.
So all and all said. It’s 5 years later and I’m STILL scratching my head. I ask “ WHAT WAS THE POINT OF ME EVEN BEING A STAFF MEMBER????” Why was I put there?? I stayed toooo long being “ Kind.”
Sometimes in life you just learn the hard way .Life isn’t fair, you can’t fix it all. It left a very bad taste and my view towards others is to take a huge step back , observe and listen. SILENCE IS POWER. Peace❤

You were a beautiful blessing to others for 12 years. If she did not implement your advice on team building, that’s on her. God sees the heart, and difficult “ mean” people are the wheat with the tears growing together. Once we’re in front of God, that’s when He will judge and say those dreadful words, I never knew you. So my fellow sister in Christ, be at peace, praying for our enemies even the ones calling themselves Christians. ♥️

This is a great presentation.
I really on’t lose the care for the others well being, or health & safety, but I do lose respect and trust. And with a couple people I’ve lost concern. But if they were drowning I WOULD rescue them or call for help. The person changes in my mind into a kind of feral animal who I would rescue but not pet, or keep caring for after it recovered. It’s a matter of safe distance according to their behavior. You can rescue a domestic cat, or a groundhog, and keep it if you can’t turn it loose or find a home. But if you rescue a wild jaguar or adult bear, you’re going to have to turn it loose or find an appropriate home for it. Too unsafe. But they’re God’s own, and they’re part of my world .

I’ve kept my balance plenty of times with plenty of mean people, and I’ve had plenty of people try to kill me I’ve got a stabbing to prove it. And I loved him through it. I didn’t even tell the cops it was that’s what it means to love.

Mean people really, what does the Bible say? What did Jesus say? It’s simple love your neighbor as yourself that’s how you treat mean people. If you don’t love yourself, you can’t love another person end of story.
The Bible also says to stay away, far away, from the evil people. 1 Kings
I am a “mean” person.
In the first place, I don’t mean to be that way.
Speaking for myself, there’s a few variables working against me: I have a flat, monotone voice; my neutral facial expression looks aggressive (German); I am an engineer, so I am analytical; I am highly intelligent (not my words; that’s just what people have said my whole life); I speak in clear, articulate terms.
People either adore me or loathe me. There isn’t much in-between. I’m 33 years old. I spent my whole life feeling bad about myself. I’ve tried to come across differently. Frankly, it’s exhausting.
To those of you who know someone like me: understand that “mean” people in your life may not be so mean after all. I am actually very, very sensitive. I don’t like the way I come across.
Just my two cents.
