Remember what they said about Ransom, he plays life like a game to the point he doesn't know the difference between a real knife and a prop.

Yeah that was a great clue!!

I first thought that Ransom was an irresponsible and arrogant person with a heart of gold and this whole film is going to be a 'bildungsroman' for him, like he becomes responsible at the climax(and maybe even marry Marta 😅🤣)

Glad you guys enjoyed this movie. It definitely rewards multiple watches. You notice lots of little clues. For example, when Blanc first meets Marta, he looks down at her shoes. It takes less than a second, but it's cool they really showed him noticing the blood.

Drew has already seen it like 3 times already haha it's really good

There are so many amazing subtle clues in this movie! Blanc tells Marta that he knew she had something to do with it from the moment she stepped foot in front of him. In their first scene together he stared at her feet intensely and said "somethings a foot" and continued to say "the game is a foot" and stuff like that throughout.
He kept referring to a "donut hole" and if you notice, during the initial interviews no one was centered in the knife ring. Not until the end when Blanc sat down and it was solved.
Blanc tells Marta that there's no better judge of character than a dog, so seeing how they reacted to Ransom showed his character was bad.
Richard threw the baseball in Harlan's office in anger about the "blank letter" and the dog later brought the baseball directly back to Linda. Linda only discovered the letter when she put the baseball Richard threw where it belonged.
And one touch I loved was that damned coffee mug in the beginning and end. Harlan's family would have never lowered themselves to drink from a basic coffee mug. But someone who truly matched with Harlan would choose his favorite mug. Marta chose it and it was the perfect classy middle finger that she deserved it more.
I'm glad you liked it and I hope you're looking forward to Knives Out 2 with the rest of us 🙂

I remembered what Harlan said about Ransom, “He plays life like it’s a game without consequences until you can no longer tell the difference between a stage prop and a real knife.” Brilliant foreshadowing!
when Marta threw up on Ransom that was actually baby food mixed with water. Knowing that makes it easier to watch.
The movie was an homage to Agatha Christie novels. Have you read Agatha Christie? Her works broke the rules of the mystery genre; she became known as The Queen of Crime. Her novels go from 1920-1970s.
Actress who played Marta gave a phenomenal performance! Glad they cut away to her reaction to the suicide; the look of horror on her face was outstanding!
Like Blanc said, Harlan’s demise was the result of “a tragedy of errors.” When he pointed out how Marta could visually spot the differences between the morphine and the correct medication, he said it so quickly. Needed subtitles for that.

There is a great inside joke with the usage of Gordon Lightfoot's Sundown in the bar scene with Marta and Ransom. The song was written by Lightfoot about Kathy Smith. She was in a relationship with Lightfoot at the time the song came out but eight years would go to prison for accidentally giving John Belushi an overdose amount of heroin and the main character in this movie is a woman who is trying not to go to prison because she thinks she gave her employer an overdose amount of morphine.

I loved Knives Out when I saw it and Chris Evans character was something else. Goodbye Captain America ha! ha! Rumor has it they are going to do a a Knives Out 2 with Daniel Craig again but other characters will be different. Some More movie suggestions if you have not done them yet. "Clue" (1985) starring Tim Curry in the same vain as Knives Out and John Carpenters "The Fog" and "Ghost of Mars" both horror movies. Have a great evening and as always great reaction.

Yay I caught one semi early!! Great reaction, and I have a few requests, they aren't movies but still enjoyable shows to watch. My first recommendation is Teen Wolf (MTV show) if y'all haven't already seen it; will have a movie coming out next year and a new spinoff series called Wolf Pack, I also recommend Squid Game (Netflix) it just came out recently and it's a great watch, I can't wait for season 2. These other recommendations are kdramas (please watch in original language with English subs, the dubbed versions can lose some of the emotions haha): 1) Blood, a great one and prepare tissues thats all I'll say 😆, 2) Doctor Stranger, another great watch that you may need tissues for if you're an easy crier, 3) Hi! School Love On, a cute rom-com type of drama, tissues may be needed as well. And thats all I'll request in this comment before it gets too long.

That was to show how little the family actually cared about her. If they really thought of her as part of the family they would remember the exact country she was from. Also the reason Harlan liked her so much was she was incapable of lying so he could ask her opinion on anything about the other members of the family and would know her response was honest.
