Was trying to find belts to rat in my hound but they almost always had players in them, or soon to be and then tracking me. Eventually I found a quiet place with an Angel Haven, and whilst it took a while with my low skills it was fun and surprisingly effective still :)
a word on dreads, if you have an alt undock in a pod and warp to the site at zero (this prevents the dread despawning and rats don't podkill) then warp to the capsule with your main, another alt and/or a few friends and orbit 500 (cruiser down or it'll blap you) and you'll be able to kill it so long as you have enough DPS. Used to do this with a few VNIs before i moved to cap ratting. From memory before the nerfs I think about 4 VNIs worth of DPS would be enough to grind it down?

@@Aceyface yeah most of the time it's just easier to go to another site and get some caps in to clear it but if there's people around who want to do it then easily doable. Would need to do some experimenting to work out what ships would work these days though

Now this is fine I guess if your in deep blue space but you can and should fit a covert ops cloak to your covert ops ship xD Even in a purely pve mindset its useful for positioning if you want to set up a bit farther away before you start and (because filaments are a thing, even if you have #thebois perma camping every gate you aren't 100% invulnerable to running into a hostile human ;p) Now, I've only ever done this on sisi a few times but I use a bit of a different take on the concept with polarized launchers and javelin missiles which offer better range (120km+) due to faster missile velocity in exchange for a modest amount of damage though with the polarized launchers its not so bad. In addition the range allows you to easily warp directly to wrecks of interest afterwards without dealing with the downsides that go with using an MTU
Ok, seeing is believing. I must say I would like to give that a go. The only thing is not wearing a covops cloak makes me twitchy lol. I messed with the fit and got the below. But I had to use an EE-602 cap inplant. But even with that I had to offline either the probe launcher or one of the torpedo launchers. But as I don’t live in Sansha’s space I would need stealth or a WH to get there.

To be fair, it's easier to catch an unaligned Rattlesnake or Vexor than an unaligned bomber... if the pilot is paying attention of course. Any ship is as agile as the person who pilots it.
The rule is TO NOT RAT IN GE-8
With the system bonus and cost of his ship, it isnt a big deal. 2-3 hours and his ship is paid off and he is isk positive.
