Its all about the screen for me....check the RC PRO out here - - geni.us/WHslB
Great overview Darren, thanks! Question: I have Samsung S10+ and it has 1200 nits, and still I cannot see the screen very well in a shiny weather. Do they also sell some sun shade covers suitable for that controller?
The feature many don't talk about is the HDMI out, for professionals this is a game changer.
@@erhan734 I imagine the Samsung isnât sustained at 1200nits. Most is just for short periods or hdr content
@@DMProductions The Tripltek 8 sustains 1200 nits You should try it
@@AerialImg I had the Tripltek 8 pro for a week. First of all, you can only get it from the USA at ÂŁ45 postage. I wanted to send it back but would have to send it back at my cost. Sold it on eBay at a loss. I still had to use a sunshade, the brightness did last and didn't dim but the battery did not last as long as they say. Influencers on CZcams always bull products up. Don't always believe what they say.
I live in a very congested area and my rc1 give me around 2 miles range but steady signals, no cuts at all and just bought the rc pro and I was amazed with the range I got, past 4 miles without any struggles at all. I didn't needed the pro remote but as a Drone geek I had to get it and I love it. Great video brother!
Haha yes the signal is Amazing
Your response represents me 100%.
I would like to say one thing thatâs so positive about the RC Pro controller is the precise stick control the unit has. My videos are much much better now because how the sticks controls the Mavic 3 and the Air 2 S. SMOOTH Controled Movements. That alone is worth the price. One more thing I want to touch on âthe controlsâ how smooth the gimbal operates, the zoom and the gimbals working in conjunction with each other, Smooth. I am sold to the smoothness of every aspect of the unit.
Great video...I had considered buying one but went with the Triple Tek 8pro, which works great for all my drones and sunlight isn't an issue. I also have a sim card in it, so it makes for a great indestructable phone if neededđ
Your right buddy! I absolutely love this controller. For me its worth every penny. Fast setup and good - clear - view.
Glad you agree đ
I miss my phantom 4pro controller, the feather light joysticks always aloud me to get smoother shots⊠how are the sticks on this controller? Lighter than a mavic 2 controller?
The new controller looks to be the same sticks as on the N1 controller from the mini 3/ mavic 3 quiet chubby. The RC Pro had the thin sticks from the FPV drone and very true much easier to get nicer shots!
I am def going to get this. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!
Thank you itâs a great choice
Great video. Could you do a better overview of all the buttons and customization options and how it's helped you make better content with the drone or streamlined the experience of using the drone in flight?
As an android user with a decently bright screen I'm more interested if the convenience of the extra buttons and customizability outweighs the benefits of something like the Tripltek 8 Pro which has a lot more real-estate, a brighter screen and can be used with any drone that uses an external display.
Biggest question I have is: can you adjust your exposure without actually tapping around on the screen (aperture + shutter + ISO) using the 5D button for example. Also interested in how the separate video and photo triggers work. The manual is less than helpful.
I love your channel bro. You are clear, easy to understand and not boring in any way.
Thank you bro đ€
I just ordered mine today for my Air 2s. Thankyou for your valuable time on reviewing this and comparing. the convenience of not having to hook up a phone or tablet before flight is the best part for me along with the super bright screen. Yes it cost as much as the Air 2S Flymore combo. Yes its also future proof for when I upgrade my drone or add a higher end DJI drone
absolutely and the flying experience is brilliant with this
Thanks for this video. I appreciate your straightforward approach and your videos donât feel like hyped-up click bait.
Regarding the RC Pro - this was a bit of a tough one for me. I recently got a Mavic 3 and was using the stock controller with an older iPad Air 9.7â with a shroud. I love the screen size of the iPad and the shroud helps with the sun, but itâs a messy and heavy assembly, and pretty indiscreet. And as an older iPad, the battery was draining fast. Too much distraction and complexity.
So I got the RC Pro. I absolutely agree with your points on convenience, and the screen brightness. Itâs so much better. Havenât tested for range but that was also an attraction. The dedicated extra buttons and scroll wheel are also key advantages. I miss the larger iPad screen and Iâm not crazy about Android in general, but it works fine. Only issue is first one I bought had a broken control stick, and had to replace the unit. :-/
Iâm hoping this will be compatible with the new Mini 3. That would really be my ideal setup having this controller and those two drones.
Yes I would love the rc pro to be a universal controller, Iâm confused and eager to find out the spec of the new mini 3 rc
Great insight and review, cheers!
Thanks buddy
Agree, agree. Thanks for this. Is there a possibility of you producing a tutorial on what âallâ the buttons etc are for. Iâm getting away with basic usage but I could just be missing outđ€
I bought the RC pro about a month ago and I can say that it was worth it. I live in Puerto Rico and there is a lot of mountains and vegetation here. With the regular controller I was having some issues at some locations. I was loosing signal and the only way around was to elevate the drone until the signal was back. Since I got the RC pro, I havenât had any issues or lost signal again.
Nice one, sounds a place I need to fly !

This video was very helpful! A lot of pros on this controller. Will be purchasing for DJI Mini 3 Pro . Thank you.
Itâs fantastic! Enjoy
Hi, Does RC PRO controller and RC from Mini 3 Pro are relatively the same? I am debating what to order
Hey man! Nice video. Iâm on the fence of buying one but apparently the default controller for Mavic 3 is the same 03+ transmission as the RC Pro?
I'd like to know how this RC Pro controller compares to the new controller with display that looks like the Mini 3 will launch with....& if its worth jumping straight to the RC-Pro (assuming mini 3 is supported) vs the mini 3 controller with LCD.
Me too !
Precise explanations in details. Thanks againâŠ
Great review. Do you have to preload the maps ?
Hi, any idea on how I can put this controller with the mini 3 pro into developer mode, or otherwise change the usb mode ? I cannot connect with the dji assistant app, until this is solved, Knut
Can you customize one of the wheels to adjust the shutter speed.
Thanks Bob
I just bought mine⊠do you notice any fan noice after few minutes from the controller- sometimes loud?
Can you connect this to the ronin app and use the raven eye controls of a gimbal?
Does this work with the new DJI mini 3, and if so does it perform better in terms of not dropping signal compared to the controller which comes with the 3 ?
Thanks a mil and good luck đ
For that price I would like a hand warmer on it too đ
All my questions answered cheers mate
Thank you buddy
Nice job with the review. No BS and right to the point.
If you're looking to upgrade to the Air 2s I got the full combo with the RC Pro for $1750.đ€ And yes it's the new RC Pro the ads are not very clear on that. đ
I agree with your key points. Add a neck strap and the rig is foolproof.
One issue, no mic on the controller so screen recording can't be narrated đ«
Question. We almost outspoken about it and forgotten about the currents gogges, the dji gogge R.E. and FPV Goggles v2. Are these be compatible. Please us know, thanks.
nothing on that sorry
got my one today from amazon bind with air 2 s and my mini 3 pro great bit of kit
the only reason why I want to get a mavic air 2s.. I hope the mini 3 gets the RC pro connectivity in the future, it just looks so convenient to have no notifications while you're flying
I just pulled the trigger. Your channel tipped the scale â€ïž
You will love it !!
Most reviews are focused upon brightness or how far away they can fly compared to RCN1. Staying connected in closer proximity when there are obstacles or RF interference are reasons I might choose to purchase. I am convinced it is better RF Can you comment on the feel of sticks and ability to control Mavic 3 precisely with the sticks? Is it negligible difference, huge difference? I swear I can control Mavic 2 better via RC1A/B than Mavic 3 via RC1N and wonder if that is due to more flight time or difference in remote sticks.
I find with these sticks I can tell a difference from the original controller, itâs very responsive and accurate
Hi Darren Excellent features on the DJI RC Pro controller I think the Zoom and Gimbal tilt re a great feature. The screen is very nice as well. I tried the iPad mini and found that it was awkward and went back to my iPhone 13 pro much lighter and still works well. Haven't had hot weather to see the phone performance as of yet. Maybe in a few months we will see some. Thanks for the review.
thanks drew, yes I've got the same phone, The RC Pro sure is a big help and a lovely screen
Could RC Pro work with Blackmagic devices like Hdmi to sdi and other vision mixers ?
Yeah you're right, today I found myself looking for the shade.
Did it work ?

Last weekend my iPhone 13 pro Dim a lot and o Did film the wrong person for a while ⊠does This Controller works on dji mini 2?
Currently this works with mavic 3, Cine and Air2s
This is going to be my first drone and Iâm thinking about getting the rc pro controller. Would you guys recommend me getting it or starting with the basic controller?
The edit was incredible !! Iâve a lot to learn
Second that!
Thatâs very kind
Having an iphone in the tropic to fly drones is a problem. I get heat very fast. But this version work with the Mavic Air 2?
Just the mavic 3 and air2s for now
Will in work with the mavic air 2?
Thanks for review
Thanks for watching
I am interested to know why you went for this controller insted of the Tripltec 8" Pro tablet. Cheaper and you canuse it to fly any drone.
Explain near the end but I like the all in one set up
Iâm on the fence about buying one, I was looking forward to this video
hope it helps !
Buy it, you won't regret it.
Great video as usual đ . Greetings from đčđđ
Thanks for watching !
Itâs the best thing Iâve bought, I use it on the air2s and mavic 3 and itâs brilliant
Glad you think so!
Best bang for money is when i purchased the mavic air 2s rc pro combođ
Do the RC PRO Work with the inspire 2?
Hi I donât think your the type to reply but am flogging a dead horse, 7minute 45seconds in there is a small bridge ,water going under it. I stayed there with two other vans I was parked up where the car is. Opposite where the Peugeot van is was a T4 and he cooked us all chicken and chips, great night. I went looking for it last year and could not find it. I thought it was off Marshaw weir. If you head the direction the Peugeot is pointed it comes out by BLEASDALE is that correct? Many thanks Ray K. The remote can work with all drones from the mini 2 up now.
notification gang checking in!
I really would like to know, if you can have just this one controller for all your drones. In that case the price in comparison with like Futaba RC is really not that bad.
Does it work with Mavic 2 zoom and Mavic 2 Pro ?
It seems great but when I look at upgrading from a mini 2 I look at really going for it with something like the xdynamics evolve 2 with the dual screen ground station controller.
Beautiful footage! Starting to think I need to move somewhere more scenic instead of upgrading the drone... Upgrade the scenery!!!
Scenery certainly helps , plus the drone plus edit skills - Iâm such a cheat đ
@@DMProductions fyi I tested the Litchi follow mode for IOS and it worked fantastic.
Can the DJI RC PRO be used to control the Mavic Air 2 Drone. You mentioned the Mavic Air 2S in the video but not the air 2.
Currently just the 2s and mavic 3
Is there much of a market for selling the basic controller, or do you keep it as a backup?
Not much, I just keep them
I bought this controller for two reasons, I live in the Southwest of the USA where the sunshineâs 351 days a year and it just washes out the phone or tablets so you really canât see where youâre flying regardless of the temperature, the second reason I bought it was I was hoping for compatibility across the entire DJI line, but It looks like Iâll have to buy the mini three to get the full compatibility for all my drones, I already have five drones whatâs one more right?
Haha exactly ! I hope to have one controller and 20 drones , universal compatibility for sure is needed
Planning to buy the RC Pro as my standard remote on my air 2S no longer work. Almost crash my Air 2S because the standard controller shut down mid flight.
I think it's a great controller, but just out of curiosity Darren. Don't you think the triple tech 8 pro is cheaper, and better? I personally think it's brighter, but not 100% since I don't have any of them. Thanks for sharing đđđ
What i would like, is for them to program the remote as a beacon, for the drone to follow, and land at the location of the remote.
That would be so helpful for the follow function.
How do you find the position of the screen? I quite like the mini 2 controller with the screen above the sticks. I'd be worried that my clumsy hands would get in the way of the screen with this controller?
I thought that but as the controller sticks are positioned high and wide it doesnât block the screen at all and you get used to it within minutes- I now actually prefer it
@@DMProductions That's good to hear. I think that was my only concern with this controller - other than the price!
@@WindsweptRobert yes indeed but you would run Scotland with that Controller Robert ! đ Iâm heading up to Scotland end of April Iâll give you a shout for a đ»
@@DMProductions Absolutely! I'm tryin' to cut down on the beer to lose some of this belly, but I'll make an exception when you're up this way!
Couple guys have videos showing they got internet on the new RC. They show surfing the web and watching CZcams videos but donât show how to do it. Any idea how to actually do it?
I need your help my smart controller internal storage is full and I cant up date anything should I do a factory reset...Thanks
Just delete some internal memory
@@DMProductions Thanks for thatđ
Is this controller compatible with DJI mini 2?
DM-Bravo- amazing ,đ
Thank you appreciate it
thanks for You comments , I've one and really happy with the screen
Darren I love the RC Pro, I live near Stockport so not too far away, I had mine FCC modded so it puts out nearly 2w of power far more than the RC-1 can do, I also have one of the DJI cellular dongles installed in the RC Pro & although it will not allow me to fly the Mavic 3 via 4g it does allow the RC Pro to have full internet access via 4g, I have a 3 network sim installed with unlimited data so I don't need to use a phone for hotspot anymore. I use mine for taking long distance shots using the explorer mode & have it plugged into my 4k big TV via the mini hdmi clean screen output, fantastic looking at big buildings over 35 miles away on the big screen with lots of hovering time up above.
what a set up ! is it straight forward once you buy the dongle to put the SIM card in ?
@@DMProductions Yes very straight forward, I just popped the 3 nano sim into it & switched it on in the settings, worked first time.
very goodïŒI love ită
Nice little video fellađ Anyone know if this is compatible with the Air 2..? I havenât got the 2s just the good old 2đ
It works with the mavic 3, Cine and air2s
@@DMProductions Yea I remember you saying in your vid. I was just hoping that it might have had an update since ya did the video allowing it to be used with the older Air 2. Oh well not to worry Iâll just have to struggle in the bright sunlight a little longer. Cheers fellađ
yeah def like one of these, for the screen def make a difference. i tried to find if you can record screen form it directly to mem card and set up in settings as a quick function is that possible as would be great if can do that. but ability to be able to use my phone again to film me flying the drone will be good too.
yes I couldn't show every feature to keep the video around 10mins but yes you can screen record on it and you can also save that to the internal memory or put in a SD Card and save recordings direct to the SD Card.
@@DMProductions thats awesome news , thanks mate def on my list now just waiting for the mini3 to use with it and ill be a happy camper . Thanks again mate
Thanks for the review DM. It really needs to come down to its realistic price AND it needs to support all possible drones, otherwise its expensive if all you can use it for is one drone(unless you have M3 & A2S. Looks quality though.
I agree
For an inexpensive mini2, is it worth the new controller or the old smart controller if you can find one cheap enough? Also, what camera are u using in this review?
I use this camera geni.us/gDtdap
The New controller doesn't work with the Mini 2 currently. The old smart controller is good but getting a bit dated now
i may be talking đ©but would the pro be compatible with the mavic air2? cheers
Review has definitely helped out my decision - need to wait a month or two in order to save up.
Thank you Matt
Thanks for the video. I believe that DJI is way overcharging for this. But they have not left much of an option and since there is very little competition out there their prices keep going up. I have been an avid user of DJI starting with getting my first drone with them being the Phantom 2. I always defended them at bringing drones down to a consumer level where everyone could enjoy them and use them for work etc. I am sad to see them going in the opposite direction now. I have to purchase this for our non profit to be able to get what we need but this went way out of our budget and will most likely be the last DJI drone we purchase. It kills me but the prices are becoming unatainable again which kept consumers out of the drone world like 10 years ago. Good vid though and thanks again
Thank you appreciate it
Very nice evaluation! I'm considering upgrading from the standard Mavic 3 remote to the RC Pro as i'm missing some buttons (C1, C2 and 5D button) on the standard remote, that used to be present on a standard Mavic 2 remote. I have a question about the file storage. Since you can place a micro SD card, is it possible to download full size RAW files and 4k video onto the SD card as a backup? This would be great on trips to have a backup of the footage, in case of crashing the drone!
Additionally, would it also be possible to back up pictures when plugging in a camera in the USB-C port to the micro SD card? This would give it a double functions as a sort of Gnarbox, would be useful!
Curious to hear from you, cheers!
So the sd card saves the screen recordings and you can also download the cached file direct to the sd card on the fly app built in. I donât believe there is a way to directly save it live to the sd card but you can do after you have taken the shot
@@DMProductions Alright thanks for clarifying! So as long as you can store the full res files on the RC PRO's SD card after the flight that would be great. So you can always make a full back-up after each flight. Something I was always weary of before, when you crash your drone you lose all your footage from the whole trip.
@@drbdrbrobertdrbdrb Dude, do you crash a lot?
@@azul8811 no, why?
Another influencer mentioned businesses who provide the equipment for their employees might want to use the SC rather than ask their employees to have a smart phone and install the app. That made good sense to me. It keeps the hardware and software under one umbrella.
It also frees up a person's phone and keeps text messages, notifications, phone calls from interrupting the flight.
Yep saw Alex mention that, very good point
it's also a great idea for security reasons. I don't like the idea of DJI having the capability of viewing my phone data & info, thus the RC Pro is superior in choice.
Mine is driving today to be used with my Air 2s. Cant wait.
You will love it
Any info on if it stores the connection With phone so it can update home point, or do you still have to do this every time like old smart controller?
I find if you have your phone hotspot on all the time it seems connect to it auto after the first time manually doing it
@@DMProductions thatâs good to know least thatâs better. I loved my old smart controller never had any issues with it, but the price of new one is far far to expensive if it was ÂŁ100- ÂŁ150 more than the old one Iâd be like ok Iâll get it but at nearly ÂŁ900 đđđđ for it Iâm gonna pass

@@DMProductions maybe something just on how to properly clean or maintain a drone then? đ thanks for all of the great content
Saw Google play in the video, how did you get that to work?
On this you can download third party apps; you can sign into Google play store on the remote
Considering getting the Air 2s bundle with this controller. I heard on another channel that when your in cine mode. The OA does not work when using this controller. The standard controller will let you use OA in cine and normal. I know sport mode it will not. But that's normal....Have you used cine mode with RC Pro and is that the case?
Yeah user Cine loads and works fine just as normal
@@DMProductions Thanks !
Cheers for the vid. I bought the RC Pro and paired it with my Air 2s. I love it, but 1) how the heck do I download my footage to my MacBook M1 ? I tried Google, you tube for the answer and dji support havenât bothered replying. 2) I fitted a suitable SD card into it, but cannot see how to change storage to it as opposed to internal. (Yes I know how to change it on my phone), any advice please DM ? TIA
So you can connect the rc to MacBook via usbc cable and download android transfer app off Google on MacBook
Or , insert memory card on rc pro, files , the the three lines in the top left click on that and transfer the screen recordings to Sd card. There is a setting of how you can get it to auto save everything to your sd card too
@@DMProductions Much appreciated Darren, I'll try that. If you can do a follow up vid that would be awesome . Cheers mate, regards Gerard .
Any comments on how long the battery life is on that controller? Can I get 2 hours of flight and recording?
Did you have to buy a fast charging block for the controller? Or are you using the fast charging block from the first smart controllerđ€

I think DJI will provide a more basic version of this controller with the Mini 3 pro.
Thanks for the clip. I use a Samsung S21 ultra @ 1500 nits max. Would be nice to have controller but not as bright and too expensive imo.
I had my maiden flight today, about 200m away with direct line of sight the dji app crashed, rebooted after 5 seconds but it was scary.
i have smaller than average hands for a man, do you think this controller would be too big and uncomfortable to fly with?
Hi, can someone tell whether the RC Pro Controller is worth it in the EU? I live in Germany where we have the CE-standard for drone-connections (in the US itâs FCC) with weaker transmissions. And Iâd like to know whether I get a significant connection-improvement (or just more stable connection within 3km radius) with this controller within CE-areas.
I find the signal much much better close and far and that's In UK
