Dinesh Gundurao, who tweeted about the Vishwanath statement, said the BJP government is working on removing the text about Tipu Sultan. But BJP leader H Vishwanath said Tipu is the son of the land and the soil of this land. He is certified as a fighter who fought against the British. Do BJP leaders still understand the truth? Tang has given the BJP leaders. KPCC president Ishwar Khandre also made a similar statement. Vishwanath has accepted the truth. The BJP is doing the job of hiding the truth. Tipu is a country devotee, a brave soldier. Trying to destroy the temples and forts built by Tipu? The BJP is trying to distort history. Vishwanath has told the truth. So I said I would support the Vishwanath statement.

In 80s I came across Pakistan Year Book in local University library. The year book is Pak Official. It blatantly showed Mysore territory colored in Pakistan color and declared Islamic as intended by Tipu. The sultan’s rule was never accepted by people and never even considered as home grown. He was a clever Muslim fanatic with military power and ambition. The self anointed Sultan’s father was a General in Mysore Maharaja army. He cleverly usurped the kingdom and passed it on to his tyrannical ambitious fanatic son on whose grave stone is inscribed that he is soldier of Islam. All his power he used to Islamize Mysore. Finally thanks to Maharani of Mysore even under house arrest by Tipu she commanded tremendous people support, she was able to get British support to reestablish home grown traditional rule and protect and propagate Mysore land sacredness and people’s home grown civilization and culture. Tipu did not die fighting on the battlefield as it is made out to be. He was hunted out from hiding and was killed by the brave Gowda duo - Uri Gowdaru, Nanje Gowdaru.

19 January 1790 letter to his loyal servant, Badruz Juman Khan:
"I have achieved a great victory recently in Malabar and over four lakh Hindus were converted to Islam. I am now determined to march against the cursed Raman Nair."
MH Gopal in his Tipu Sultan's Mysore: An Economic History says that
"Mussulmans were exempted from paying the house tax and taxes on grain and other goods meant for their personal use and not for trade. Christians were seized and deported to the capital, and their property confiscated. Converts to Islam were given concessions such as exemption from taxes…[Tipu] removed Hindus from all administrative posts and replaced them with Mussulmans with the exception of Diwan Purnaiah…Another change was the introduction of Persian as the medium of accounts in the revenue department. It was so far the practice in Mysore…to make out the revenue accounts in Kannada, fair copies of which were communicated to the amildars who had them translated into Marathi.
British historian Lewis Rice who wrote the History of Mysore and Coorg says how in the
"…vast empire of Tipu Sultan on the eve of his death, there were only two Hindu temples having daily pujas within the Srirangapattanam fortress. It is only for the satisfaction of the Brahmin astrologers who used to study his horoscope that Tipu Sultan had spared those two temples. The entire wealth of every Hindu temple was confiscated before 1790 itself mainly to make up for the revenue loss due to total prohibition in the country."
VR Parameswaran Pillai narrates Tipu's obsession with astrology:
"With respect to the much-published land-grants I had explained the reasons about 40 years back. Tipu had immense faith in astrological predictions. It was to become an Emperor (Padushah) after destroying the might of the British that Tipu resorted to land-grants and other donations to Hindu temples in Mysore including Sringeri Mutt, as per the advice of the local Brahmin astrologers.
