- Ace investor and author Ruchir Sharma said the stock markets will see a “big knee-jerk negative reaction” if the Bharatiya Janata Party gets less than 250 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
Sharma, Chairman of Rockefeller International, was answering a question on whether coalition governments are bad for stock markets at a session during the India Today Pop-up Conclave in Mumbai.

All andhbhakts are interested in writing off this news without cherishing godi media channels calling out a 3rd term for their favourite personality. “Downside risk” is not specific enough. Ruchir needs to tell us how many seats he is expecting. Otherwise it’s just talk.
Very polarised comments. True congress doesn't seem to have gathered much steam but nda does not seem to have clinched it. The performance over last 10 years is dismal on many fronts. People who are upwardly mobile or belong to the upper middle class would want the status quo (no upsetting the candy cart!) no doubt about that but The country is not about the top ten percentile. If bjp comes to power (they will probably) that will happen not because of performance and good governance but because there is no alternative - the opposition is disorganized and listless.
