1. Occupy our spiritual space with something else.
2. Having bad theology.
3. If you having to quantify and qualify everything.
God loves to stretch us and put us into places that activate our faith. He leads us into places we wouldn't normally go. God is a mystery and you will not fully understand in this lifetime, but you will know Him. When you fully depend on God even when you don't understand, this is when you will start to hear Him more.
If you are having trouble in any of these 3 areas, ask the Holy Spirit to help you make the change or adjustment.

If we wait and try to here Gods voice without reading His word, you are most likely to get deceived by another voice which will not be God. The best way to hear from God is to spend time reading his word. The Holy Spirit will remind you of a bible scripture when you need it. Learn what is in the bible if what ever someone is teaching you that is not in the word the Holy Spirit will remind you also. So we must spend time reading the word so Jesus can wash us with His word. God does speak but it always lines up with his word. The Lord spoke to my heart this year which lines up with his word. He showed me to pray always. He used peter in the bible when Jesus told peter to pray and not fall asleep and then peter attack the servant with the knife. Jesus put that example to pray always. If someone is teaching something new and its causing you to strive and its drawing you away from reading the word I would pray and ask God to help you and give you discernment..

I’ve been wandering about this for the past few days.
Well I saw this, clicked on it and was convicted of two! I got some praying to do.
I was praying the other day on the way to work and after a few minutes I seen a vision of angels around me protecting me. I’ll never forget it I started to tear up god is awesome.

Yes, distractions can be a HUGE HINDRANCE in recognizing God's voice. Unbelief and believing lies about hearing God's voice can block us from hearing Him.

Good theology: every Bible bloodbath battle represents a war for the purification of our soul.
Good theology: God strongly desires for us to win every battle.
Good theology: we win every battle in, with, for, through Christ.
My number one barrier is my cell phone does not give me the Word of God. Now, I know this puts me in a lower 'spiritual class' than the great Shawn Bolz since God talks to him through social media posts on his mobile device.
However, God does still talk to me through His revealed Word in the Scriptures. So at least I have that.
