- Shawn Bolz shares: Let's chat about curses! So many of us have been afraid of curses, witchcraft or we discount it all together. Today I'm going to share with you a story about someone I knew who was having a lot of problems in his life and career. I had a word of discernment for this man which exposed the lies he had been believing in his life. What he believed became his curse, when he broke the lies, God's spirit of truth came and he was set free. This shows the power of what we believe and how these things can become a curse for us.
So many times we think of curses as spells or witches with black caldrons, but the reality is words are powerful. Your words and belief systems carry a lot of power to them. (Matthew 5:22, Proverbs 18:21). There is a process in your life where you need to reject words that are spoken over you. If you come into agreement with negative words that are spoken over you, they can become like a curse. You can break these words over you with the power of Jesus. As a Christian, God can use everything for our good...even your areas of weakness.

My sister went to pick up her taxes and pay her accountant. While she was processing her payment the accountant and her young teenage daughter were arguing. The accountant was telling her daughter that she couldn’t be an artist because she wouldn’t make any money etc etc on and on. My sister said “ excuse me for interrupting your conversation but I thought you should know the money I am paying you with came from me painting dinosaur murals that travel around the world to museums and zoos!” I hope that made them both think about art differently.
I broke a curse off of my life. It’s weird but I would unintentionally borrow things and then not give them back. I didn’t even realize it. Then all these bad things happened to me one week. Car broke down, horrible sales at work, lost my wallet, etc. I heard God say “thief” like the accuser was accusing me of being a thief in the courts of heaven. I looked around my room and saw all kinds of books, office supply’s, clothes, etc that I had taken but had no intention of giving back. I repented and loaded all the items up and gave them back to the people who rightfully owned them. The next day the police called because they found my wallet (with nothing missing), the mechanic fixed my far for super cheap, and I broke an all time record for most sales in a single day. It was unbelievable. I removed the thing that was causing the curse, repented, and a major blessing then came over my life. It was powerful!
So timely in my life! Just read Proverbs 26:2 last week- “An undeserved curse will be powerless to harm you. It may flutter over you like a bird, but it will find no place to land.” 💛

@@susmithakaturi9126 - I don't claim to understand the nuances of curses, and I'm not saying that there is no truth in what you have said. However, the Bible is true whether I understand it correctly or not, and that verse exists for a reason. So perhaps there is more nuance that we need to understand, but let's not throw out the verse. Let's pursue with God a deeper understanding of the reality behind that verse.

Wow, I really felt the anointing of God. I prayed at the end of the video to break any spoken curses that I’ve said and any said toward me and I released God’s blessings...Wow! I think there is a release or something happening when the anointing is present. I feel like it would be beneficial to include in daily prayers to be mindful to check my heart daily and to allow God to help me guard my heart intentions and thoughts.. It feels like it’s too easy to say something negative, even unintentionally that could be harmful. I’m aware of this for my kiddos, I don’t want to limit them or set them up to believe something that is not true. Thank you Lord, help me to speak what is right, I repent for my poor choice of words spoken in frustration and harsh words I’ve said out of anger or judgement that has caused harm to others and I thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you that you are greater than my words and you allow us and others we’ve offended freedom and make us overcomers. Lord break all curses in our lives as we also release others from our negative words and harmful heart intentions. Thank you for your forgiveness in Jesus name.

Being aware of what you are doing is already a breakthrough and you are already managing and taking control of your thoughts and mind. Keep declaring the truth and re-conceptualizing those thoughts in what you know is true. My husband does hear me and supports my spiritual walk; he may not be able to verbalize because he hasn't experienced what you know. Keep taking control of your thoughts to replace the untruth.
Thank you for this message. This may explain the heaviness that I feel every time when I try to work on my business. Also, the sickness in my body. I too was prophesied about long like and for the last 2 years I have been dealing with gastrointestinal issues. The spirit of jealous from other christian women towards me. One person who was my friend, said she was jealous of me and wants the anointing on my life. She wants what I have. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!! I know GOD is GREATER! Dude, so I've been feeling so heavy and foggy lately and I pray ALOT, so yesterday and today I asked God why I was feeling these things if I was trying to purposely keep my attitude and mood where it should be, then this video pops up on my feed. I need to hear this so much, my youngest son curses me with Alzheimer because my mother, grandmother and aunt had it, I've rebuke him all the time and now my oldest son is joining in with him. I have a very sharp mind for it is the mind of Christ. Yet every time I'm around them I have to fight this battle. So, God forgive me I tell them what you curse me with will be your to bear. I know now more than anything that is wrong too. My young son and his wife are getting a divorce and its because of the negative words that comes out of each one of there mouths. Me too. Couldn't get over my situation until I began to forgive them. Takes time, every thought of unforgiveness and hurt I would turn it around. I don't have that pain anymore. I took a while, I dealt with each thought as it came up. I found out forgiveness set ME free. Bless you.

I would love prayer over mechanical curses - vehicles have been a struggle, and are needed for livelihood when they break down as a single mom of two, it is a major burden. And finances... I feel like I get so close to a breakthrough with being able to manage bills, have an emergency fund, tithe, and then something major comes up and drains the savings. This is soooo good! I literally have been feeling things i believed as a kid and young 20s from family and others to be true not realizing these were curses and strongholds i believed. When I was younger my friend told me she was going to play with the wuigi board, and I to,d her to ask for who I was going to marry that night I had a nightmare the next day I saw her she said to me that she asked when was I going to die from that moment on I put that behind me thinking of oh is nothing but once in a while I came back to that thought. Right now when you shared that you said that you where going to die at age of 30, and what happened to you. I just remembered that and I broke the agreement with what I have been told that I was going to die of the age of 50 something I felt something coming out of me. Praise Jesus because I know that agreement was broken off and no longer effective. Praise Jesus

Thank you, I was told by my father I would not be wanted by anyone and not be married. This internal belief has walked with that all of my life, I am now 50 not married and experience rejection after rejection, make sense, my own father had cursed me. I was sent this and my friend prayed for me . I am now praying for this curse to be broken off me In Jesus name. I am now going to replace, align, and believe what God says about me. Yeah, I have found that I keep encountering an “intimidation” when I walk with God through people and even those close to me. I “feel” it and I know our war isn’t against flesh/blood, but I’m open for prayers on what to think and how to overcome it 🥊
Please pray for my thoughts to line up with the word of God. I know the word, I can encourage others in it, I believe it when I speak it to them. I combat the enemy and strongholds in their lives. I speak God’s love and freedom into them but I battle with connecting to myself. Critical self talk of not enough or too much. That I’m always failing. That people will leave me because of it. With that can come battles of depression or anxiety. I know God has mighty things for me. I want breakthrough and to trust and know that I am who he says I am without wavering. I want to unswervingly to the hope we profess.

This is such a powerful word! Thank you for sharing as it was much needed for me to here this. I did need prayer for some of the areas where I have felt lots of resistance or like their has been a possible curse. One is in finding a passion for a career and the other is entering into a marriage relationship.
My daughter who is in her mid 30’s went thru a lot of persecution for making godly decisions & living out her faith in an anti Christian environment. She has waited till now in hope for God to bring her dreams to pass including the right husband. But none of those dreams have been realized. She has seen all those around her living out her dreams while she only trusted God to bring them to pass. She has become so depressed & doesn’t even believe anymore that God is Good & there’s hope in Him. Maybe even doubts His existence. As she has seen every dream slip away she has been speaking death over her life. Wanting to die. Saying she doesn’t know why she was born. As her parent & as she is my bloodline I have been standing on the premise that I have a legal right over her & so been repenting on her behalf, breaking curses & blessing her. But it is tough. (She lives in a different country. Also, she has been in your conferences long ago & one tile wanted to do BSSM). I can’t get her to repent for her words or ask her to break curses. Is what i am doing enough. I am scared Satan will destroy her. There is another urgent matter re: her which i can’t disclose here.

Feeling the weight of some curses spoken over me by others and myself today. But God is just shining light on them today to break them. Thats probably why I was somehow lead to watch this video. We are already free from every curse when we receive Jesus. But maybe there are things inside that we've held onto or that feel familiar when aroused by the right circumstances. In those moments just stand in his love and disagree with the words. That's all they are, are words. But words have power. But they don't have power over you if you continue to stand in His love and stand against them when they surface or when familiar feelings come to try and get us to re-agree with them. God isn't going to let you stay the same at any moment. The "moments" when you feel those feelings trying to come against you or refamiliarize themselves with you is when you keep standing in the freedom of what He already did on the cross. In a sense it's resisting the devil and also renewing your mind at the same time. Never let go of the freedom you've already obtained through the cross. You've already got it. So when a familiar feeling or even an unfamiliar feeling comes that go's against the truth of His word that says he's already freed us from sin just stand and resist. In a sense it's just part of whole "sin" problem. It's still floating around out there and Satan is trying to use it against you if he can. It doesn't mean you have something attached to you or in you. It's not always even witchcraft. But sometimes it is. And if you hold onto anything, or haven't brought something into submission to the cross and to the living hope that's in you then anytime it comes up is the time God wants you to lay it down at his feat and walk away taking only the truth of His word and what he's spoken over you with you. You don't have to naval gaze or go around paranoid wondering if there is something wrong with you that you don't know about. That's NOT the holy Spirits work. The Holy Spirits work is when you are currently feeling something because that's when he's shining light on it so that you can do something about it. It only remains an issue you if you don't simply and in a child like way submit it to Him taking every thought captive so that you can lay it down and command your soul, with your spirit man and His Spirit that's within, to just beleive what he says about you in His word and what you've heard and learned from Him as you've sat before Him. And this is the truth: that you are free. Any part of our mind that needs renewed, needs renewed with that truth. We start from there and only deal with things as the Holy Spirit shines light on them. So in a sense you could say that when you feel contrary to his word its a perfect opportunity to exercise and apply that freedom and whatever it is gets broken. It may take a little time with some things but I promise he will restore you because that's what the word says. Build your spiritual muscles and grow into maturity by beleiving and acting on that belief. It's called faith. FAITH acted out is the substance of what we can't fully see yet but we know it to be true because God said it is. It's evidence that what we are believing is true. Evidence to us first of all. And remember there is a supernatural exchange that takes place. Just like when we first came to God. The devil wants all Christians to think that was a one time experience. But it's not. It's supposed to happen ALL THE TIME. It's a supernatural exchange. Something takes place as we beleive and act on that belief. God's supernatural power comes and changes us. It's called His love. Man I think I just talked myself out of those bad feelings I was getting! Haha

I'm so thankful to God and to you for my renewed awareness! My spirit is now in agreement with God but as I affirm his promises my subconscious brain rejects it because that part of the brain goes on experience. My experience of God has to outdo all the negative experiences from my past! I feel it's like laying bricks - we need the mud (from the Spirit) to have the bricks stick (neurons) to form new thoughts. If we just lay down bricks without the mud they'll come down with very little resistance - we need experience and thought together! (I love science and had to share my aha moment... #sorrynotsorry)

Hi There. Thank you for your ministry and love your teachings. I would like to ask for prayer. Our family in full-time ministry and have been for a while. We continue to feel like things are coming against us daily. Even people around us are noticing. We have had two different people tell us they feel like someone is word cursing us. We just need this to break. It is wearing us out so much.

I now feel better about a decision I made to not have a family member come back to stay because his wife's presence is so aggravating. It's wierd whenever she is around. Peace just leaves. She makes these little comments that leave you feeling worn-out emotionally. There's always tension in the atmosphere.

I’m the child out of wed lock of 5 kids, been called “my waterloo, different & thought to be the complicated one because I didn’t conform to religion & tradition. It’s been a struggle & still is. My father was a the governors deputy director, business owner who denied me, his children have cursed me at the funeral. God has allowed me to obtain a patent on a nursing blanket & a copyright called UBU IN CHRIST. It’s such a struggle still. My mother always had my relationships through her even with my son. How do you know if someone has spoke or prayed curses over you? How do you know when you have against someone else? How do you pray to break and come out of agreement with them? And how to speak blessings?
Curses: Sometimes you can sense a spirit of dishonor, mockery, lack of life and a lack of peace. Words of life you say will feel stifled, and your spirit might feel suffocated by an atmosphere of entrapment or the enemy. You may also notice a pattern in specific social circles in their attitudes ans posture towards you and God regarding some topics. You break these curses by forgiving them and walking in the opposite spirit. You can lovingly correct them, then with another then the church/ group, but if they refuse their salvation and walk with God are ultimately not dependent on you, so you can bless and release. If you've spoken curses over someone else, you'll sense conviction from the Holy Spirit about a specific person and a specific word that He wants you to repent of. :)
Hi Shawn, thank you for this video. Please pray for me, I was in an abusive marriage and my in-laws spoke things over me and my husband for years. He refuses to go for deluverance and chooses to believe lies. He gas an obsessive spirit and there are geberational curses of occult stuff. His osrents are in ministry and his parents are inclined to speak against destiny and and go to intersessors ti agree with them in soul prayers.
My children and I had to run away ge wsas becoming suicidal and really scary around me. His mom is very nanipylative and as a yoyng girl she was determined to get a missionary for her son to marry. I wss a prey in this family and deception cane over me. I am pleading forgiveness. Now I see after 20 years of bondage what witchcraft even in christian circles look like m. I have forgiven, I have been baptized and now I am praying that I will be totally released from the enemy's camp with my children and that they will repent to God too. I really want to see God's plan for me and my kids happen despite this kidnapping that took place.

I'm going through a real tough mental and physical time. I have been physically ill since 2017 and mentally since 2019. I have care of my two grandchildren, 3 and 4 yr old boys. I want to love them so much, but I am so angry and resentful. I am mentally and physically weary and I want to give up on my life. There is always that one little spark that keeps shining and I keep hearing "don't give up". I want to thrive not just survive. I feel like I am being beat down hard by the devil and I remember that means God is got big plans and the devil is scared. I want to win for Jesus. I want to live for God's glory.

I understand what you mean, just keep in remembrance that God loves you therefore He has already supplied healing way before you asked for it. (See 1 Peter 2:24)
Therefore by faith, you get to correspond in knowing God loves you, all illness that’s been attacking your body has to stop in fulfilling God’s will for your life.
You don’t give in faith more to the devil or the bad that’s been happening to your body, but you give it all to God.
I believe in God that I dare you to do move your body like you dance in position of knowing God loves you and the pain will leave away from you. (See Galatians 5:6 and 1 John 4:16).

There is an area in mine and my husband’s life that feels unresolved, and I have had a hard time finding clarity about it. And have had a hard time finding someone who can give wisdom on how to set it right. Long and short of it- we have always wanted a larger family, and have 3 kids, but have lost many along the way. 10 pregnancy losses, two of which we are certain were twins. I had 4 tubal pregnancies amongst those. As a result, I had to have my tubes removed last January. We have always longed for a 4th child but we don’t see a way forward at this point but that entire area of our story doesn’t feel resolved. In addition- I had a demonic manifestation when we were going through our 3rd pregnancy loss. It was like in intercession but was revealing a demonic presence in our domain. We did all we could to kick it out but we never had an evident sign of victory - although we, in faith, believed it to be dealt with. However, over the years, every time I have grieved or spiritually began processing with Holy Spirit about this area in our life, if I start to cry I also get the feeling of gagging or needing to throw up. I know this can be a sign of demonic but haven’t had a place or time to effectively or safely figure that out and pray that through. At this point, a year and a half after losing my fertility in the natural, we still don’t feel this area is resolved and are at an impasse about it. It’s not that we have not been able to let go-- we are more than willing to just have it be laid to rest- we have done that- and the Spirit seems to keep bringing it back up. Any insight or direction would be greatly appreciated. We hold it all with open hands- but it’s been hard to see clearly.

I was out in California going to ministry sxhool. had a witch curse me to leave California and some other things. I came back home to PA tried to commit suicide acouple times ended up homeless at another point ended up in jail for 2 weeks.Got evicted from my apartment and am living with family. My life is a mess and I feel totally with out motivation and purpose. I am a prophet but operating in my gift has been a huge challenge. Any prayers would be really appreciated.

One thing I was thinking through is how you would describe the difference between being true to yourself and how you feel negatively about someone and speaking that out to yourself (instead of maybe stuffing it) and potentially to them and cursing. Maybe you do have woundedness in a relationship. I don’t think being real about that to yourself and to others would be cursing someone. So how would you walk that line with this?

Hi , I do need prayer for my marriage. We are separated now due to a huge fight We had recently. My husband is a new baby believer. And his children are older than my kids and they’re not believers. were a blended family. And there was a lot of tension when we moved into his home. I just need wisdom and guidance from Holy Spirit because I’m in a place we’re I don’t know if I should stay out and protect my two boys , or seek to reconcile while having my kids to be exposed to things they’re not appropriate..or used to..

What should we do if People close to us- husband, wife, parents, brothers and sisters constantly curse us ? If we have confronted them and asked them to stop but they just keep carrying on. Then what should we do ?
I'd recommend being firm and clear as to why its unhealthy for you and for them, and create healthy boundaries. Sometimes putting some healthy distance gives you space to thrive and envision what kind of environment God wants to create through you.
How can we be cursed (as Christians) when Jesus became a curse for us so we could not be cursed? Are we saying His finished work was not enough and now we have to have something more than to walk in what He has already provided?
