Always loved how Super Namekians make the Windows Device Recognition sound when they throw punches.
Apparently this was meant to be Goku transforming into a Super Saiyan, but it was before the manga debuted it. This is the writers idea of a SSJ. Then akira solidified the form as having blonde hair with the golden aura in the manga about a week or so later.
R.I.P Akira. A Real legend.
I love the older Dbz movies, not only for its fight but also for its more grim color palette which was common during the 80-90s Anime era, such as with Fist of the north star. plus these movies have music that really oozes the 80s or 90s.
The entire films become like a time capsule from a time when DBZ was the big new thing.
Bruh the music in the movies are mostly from the late-90s (98-99) and early 2000s.

I constantly have to come back to the US Z movies to scratch a certain itch that Super won't reach. Goku catching Slug's fist to the opening of "Stupify" is among my favorite moments in the entire franchise. This movie is *insanely* well done. Slug can't even fight! He's just too damn strong for any of them. All he has to do is tank hits and land blows. What a great villain!
It has that 90s edge and coolness to it. The US dubs of the movie clear so hard since the JP versions just have that lame circus music in the background

This is after super saiyan. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Like right after Goku gets back to earth. But that also doesn’t make sense because of Gohan‘s hairstyle. The timeline for this movie is very confusing because if this would’ve been pre-Namek then Piccolo would’ve been dead still.

In the original script it's noted that he could've beaten Slug prior to wishing for eternal youth; presumably with Kaioken x10. Though Slug is also stronger than Freeza especially as a Giant; it was so bad that Goku used Kaioken x100 (followed up by a Genki Dama) to put him down

Though itd be nice if the realisation that they have nothing left to give meaning theyre that fucked up was what made him mad. Still this scene goes so hard

Ah, the original release of the movie without any dogshit "remastering" or piss poor audio mixing. Nice to be able to actually *hear* Stupify now, with vocals and all.
The animation in the remasters look better like Coolers Revenge but sadly the music is all jacked up and some of the audio is terrible.
@@thelvadam90 The animation is exactly the same except picture is zoomed in and the colours are brightened, I'll give it that it's crisp HD but that's about it.
@dvda9725 yeah the brightened colors look better and the HD is nice but other than that yeah the remasters kinda jacked them up lol. Don't know they cropped them.
@@thelvadam90 The brighter colours look okay at times, but honestly it's not for me, there are times where everything just looks dull and washed out, and sometimes it totally ruins the atmosphere of a movie. The first Broly movie is a good example, that movie originally had a grim, dark aesthetic, but the remastered version looks so blue and characters are all pale, it looks blown out (and of course there's Broly's high-pitched voice but things like that are a given when it comes to "remastered" DBZ's audio).
The later movies do look a bit better though, as it seems like there was more of an effort to enhance the image instead of just making it brighter, and the HD does compliment DBZ's art style at the time which was at its peak in the last few movies, but I'm always gonna prefer the original DVDs because that nostalgic vibe just can't be topped. I would have much less of a problem with the remastered releases if the audio wasn't such a disgrace, but tbh I don't like it in general when they try to modernize old content that was already great as it was, it's rare that it doesn't come with a ton of problems anyway.
@dvda9725 yeah I get that makes sense. I prefer the HD look with the brighter colors for the most part it really helps it. Especially Coolers Revenge the HD and colors on the Blu Ray it looks really good there and not over saturated. But yeah the music edits and audio for sure were poorly done with the remasters. Underwater scene in Coolers Revenge is a good example and the scream from Goku going Super Saiyan being removed to.
