    Excellent video presentation, very informative and the on screen inserts were appreciated.

    Those 4glte/5g wideband antenna included with the router 5500 are claimed 5db a piece, i've seen online say those are 7-12db. That super dong is claimed 7db. Even inside that would probably be stronger by itself or combined with the super dong.

    Nice video.. Note, the 2 most important cellular input is the primary #1 and secondary #1 input.
    When testing, need to use these 2 inputs and then swap between them to see which gives the best speeds if you have an outdoor antenna that has 2 input coming from them.

      Thank you! Would I be better connecting one antenna with both leads on primary#1 and secondary #1? Instead of how I had them? Also, when I have 2 antennas, like I do....will they both be used in pulling in the cell tower signals? -Todd

    Yet another greatly informative step by step masterpiece. Great value here.
    That home wi-fi test really was a disaster! Looking forward to your resolution or diagnosis! I was ready to see 450 speed, not 0.77 !

      Bill, thank you for recognizing the work I put into this video 😀 I was right-up against my house with that test you are mentioning and the antenna was far above. I'm sure if you tried this in a campsite, you might get better. But, then again - campground WiFi SUCKS! Thank you for your comment and watching once again! -Todd

      @@twHomeShow It just seems confusing that the change of router would make 1 become 50. Unless there was some limiting nonsense with the 4500 router you'd think that routers would not affect speed - they just pass everything through, right? I would wonder if the upscaled 5500 router comes with proper antennas -- and if the 4500 does not.
      By the way my wired desktop on Spectrum in Dallas gets 450. I just tested a wireless desktop across the house and it was 220.

      @Bill_Woo Před rokem

      I'm sure I'm confused. As the 4500 was using external antennas (first roof, then pole), is the 5500 just using the supplied antennas in the box? Amazing that placement of the externals would be so poor vs. the little attached ones, if that's the case! (I may be completely talking idiocy, over my head)

    • @Bill_Woo
      @Bill_Woo Před rokem

      Nah, I'm crazy, those attached antennas are just for transmitting, right? (To devices).
      So now why is the 5500 so superior in speed?

      I think my video may have got you lost. I'm sorry. But at 32:00 you will see I got BETTER SPEEDS with the Mofi5500 along with the PROXICAST antenna.

    Thanks for the good video Todd but am I wrong or you forgot the Campground wifi test with the 5500 at the end ???

    • @twHomeShow
      @twHomeShow  Před rokem +1

      Thanks Mario. You're right, I didn't do the "campground wifi" on the 5500. The admin panel is a little different on the 5500 and I'm still learning it. I didn't want to get that deep until I'm more familiar. But it can be done. -Todd

    I thought 40mbps up and down was slow from my bootleg version of a mofi 4500 on tmobile.

    Todd I know I'm late to the party so to speak. Something that is not clear to me is whether you went through the steps for band locking. It is my understanding, from other reviewers, that the feature "Speed Band Lock" will scan available bands for optimal speed and lock the best ones for you. By having the band(s) locked the 5500 will not hunt through all bands wasting processor cycles thus providing much better speeds.

    • @twHomeShow
      @twHomeShow  Před rokem

      Hi. When I arrive to each new location, I run the band scanner. This shows me the strength of each band. Then I can choose the strongest band to lock.

    So your using a normal cell plan from t mobile? I wanted to do this at my home for the Internet I have an old plan and this world save me a ton of money if this is correct?

      @@twHomeShow thanks! That one is real expensive do you know if there's a decent one at around 100?
