Dokken is criminally underrated. Amazing band
Awesome band!!!
I agree!
@@angerman777 and Poison
@Rob Cracker underrated= underestimated value or importance. How many people mention dokken in greatest bands conversations. Barely anyone that didn't listen to them during their reign know who they are.
@Rob Cracker so you critically value artists based on how many albums they sell? So Korean boy bands are regarded highly with that logic.
25 years old here, mom and dad raised me right. Long live 80s metal.

27 man! Been playing this band since high school.
56 years old and extremely blessed to have lived in a place and time when musicians were more passionate about the quality of their music rather then getting a like.. or a thumbs up.
This band notoriously hated each other.
Their goal was always "Heavy Rotation" on MTV which was the equivalent of "Clicks, Likes and Thumbs Up" back then.
I know, I am an asshole, but this music was so cheesy that you wanted wine to go with it.

@@manlymcstud8588 Indeed. Whatever happened in the 80s gets to stay in the 80s 😇
I was born in 2003. I remember the late 2000s in my country were just like the 90s. So I got a small hint of what life was like back when people were smart and technology was just machines that couldn't control us. But after 2013, when smartphones became widespread in my country, things went downhill fast. Now it's really tragic to see how lifeless my generation is. I always say it and I'll say it again, I am jealous of every single person who lived their teens and early adulthood in the 80s. Screw today's culture.
I'll leave a testimony here: I only heard this song once on the radio when I was 16 and it never left my mind. Today I'm 43 years old and I've been looking for this song all my life but I didn't know its name or who sang it... today out of nowhere I found it by coincidence on CZcams and I'm very happy! As someone born in '95. I'm an old soul. Raised on this music and way of life. The 80's is by far the best year for music and I am confident that nothing will ever touch this. Not in a million years. One of the greatest metal ballads ever!
I'll say it now.... the bass tone is perfect for that pounding, fret rattle accents. Dokken was one of the best.
Jason Jobb absolutely correct. Jeff Pilson has always been one of the most underrated musicians in heavy rock. That bright rattly tone he got is really the heart and soul of the Dokken sound. Notice: they could do well live without George, without Mick, hell even without DON! But I saw them once without Jeff -- even though they had Barry Sparks from Yngwie's band on bass, and he is no slouch -- and it just wasn't the same. Jeff's tone, his stellar backing vocals, the keyboards, and his inimitable stage presence were sorely missed. That was by far the worst of the many times I've seen Dokken. Viva Jeff Pilson! The secret weapon.
Jason Jobb jeffJeff pilson delivered some great understated bass riffs underneath lynchs guitar playing genius
Agreed. That is why Jeff is such an asset to Foreigner now.
The 80's was the best , never forget the better and real music.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
For the fans of this band who might not realise Don Dokken the man who formed this band and made them into a Success .Talk about believing in yourself and making it a reality. He basically had a very hard life he was abandoned as a child and grew up in Orphanages and various Foster Homes and basically started out with no moral or financial support and literally even though the odds were against him his love and his passion for music along with his talent and inner confidence made him into the musician and person that in my opinion has to be admired.
Wow! I had no idea that Don had been through all of that and I have loved his voice ever since I first heard Breaking the Chains in my car in 83. What a guy. What a band 👏. They are still my favorite band of all time. Keep on Rockin with Dokken

This song comes to mind when I think of the woman that I loved that passed away too soon. 😮💨
