- Super Yamato aka Yashima with her 510mm guns has such a big smack on enemy ships that you need new pants after every score. She only has 6 guns and they can troll sometimes, but when they work they smack everyone like a GOD.

I hate all cruisers with smoke screens. I was playing ranked and 5 out of 7 ofthe enemy ships was in a smoke screen. Its soooooo anoying

jebes909090 you know just cause they are in a smoke screen doesn’t mean they can’t take a hit. Use the spotter aircraft, minimap X-Marks the spot, and the tracers from their ship firing to get a good place to fire at them. I deleted/citadeled several cruisers that were sitting in a smokescreen. And it’s the biggest fuck you to them lol cause you can feel how salty they get.
Can devastate the largest, toughest ships in the game in a single volley from practically any angle.
Can go pound sand when shooting the totally flat side of a light cruiser.
Balans
Midway is a armor carrier with a deck designed to bounce direct hits of 500kg AP bomb. It’s in the realm of possibility a shell could bounce at extreme angles
@@EstellammaSS He's talking about the Smolensk. The AP shells however are rated to need 120 something mm to arm so flat broadside light cruisers with no armor will just get overpenned, and even some cruisers that have that much armor, the shell fuze might arm BEHIND the ship...

Yeah it’s annoying, but at the same time kinda realistic. You do overpen a lot of things especially with the diving configured Japanese AP shell IRL. But I guess if you want realism one or two HE hit would just nuke a DD out of the water and every penetration on a CA would be pretty much same or worse than a citadel hit in the game.
I think they should add machinery spaces, magazines etc and let you deal full penetration damage on a normal overpen when you hit them, makes some sense and slightly better balance
Just switch to HE for the Smolester. Problem solved.

I was wondering of Yashima could citadel Smolensk by shooting below the waterline so that the fuses arm before entering and then detonate inside the target.
This technique works quite well on Kronshtadt so why not Yashima?
How about if you Overpen a ship around it's waterline, it floods?

They need a German ship with Dora and Schwerer Gustav mounted on it reload going to suck 28 rounds a day so maybe 4 rounds a game
They'll probably just make a t10 soviet battleship with a "looted gustav" on top that fires every 30 seconds with pinpoint accuracy and magic shells that overmatch but don't overpen.

I liked playing yashima a lot . even if you have sometimes this battles where you struggle to get DMG.ESP. some long range sniper fest battles than yashima can be frustrating

As with the Nagato, a vertical dispersion buff would go a long way to making this ship a consistently good time, as opposed to the occasional meme.
The problem with increasing the gun accuracy is it's range, base 26km that pushes to 31km with spotter planes just shouldn't be given too much accuracy, hilarious though it would be

Flat broadside cruisers are actually NOT supposed to be penned by this thing...they need like 120 something mm to even ARM.
However, the HE penetrates 102 mm with IFHE, so you could potentially citadel light cruisers with HE.

The Japanese actually made and tested a 48cm gun for an uprated YAMATO. So their plans for such ships were not just pipe dreams, unlike the enlarged German BBs.
If thats the case, then same would go to Germany, since they tested 16 inch guns for an uprated Bismarck.

Note that the guns are the same size as the larger non-Japanese WWII guns and the same size as the US, Japan, and Britain had installed on their immediate-post-WWI s (COLORADO, NELSON, and NAGATO). We are talking about super-size guns well over 16" -- 18-18.1" here -- which those three countries made, but the British only used one for a ill-conceived cruiser that was immediately turned into an aircraft-carrier, moving that gun to a single-turret "monitor" used primarily for shore bombardment, while the US gun was tested mostly as a relined 18"/56 super-high-velocity test gun until WWII where it was put back as an 18" gun for experimental testing. Only the Japanese actually built BBs with these huge guns. The US MONTANA Class, if built, could have been up-gunned to 8 18" guns instead of 12 16" guns, but that would only have happened if WWII had been delayed for at least 5 years and the US found out about the actual gun sizes on the YAMATO Class in the interim. Germany simply did not have the large-scale shipbuilding capability to compete with them and still have Hitler keep on his plan to re-conquer Europe, especially Russian, with a large army (again, assuming things were delayed). To Hitler, the German Navy was there merely to "keep Britain off of his back" when he fought his land wars in Europe.
