Submission Requirements:
-Video must be 1080p 30 or 60fps
-Video needs to be in 16:9 format (hold your phone horizontal)
-Tripod or some form of stabilizing. (shaky video wont work)
-10 clips of 20 - 30 seconds (please do not edit, just raw footage)
-Video clips must contain, Corals, Fish, and Set up equipment. (filters, sumps, pumps, lighting etc.)
-Video must be smooth and steady, not shaky ( different angles of your tank are welcome)
-Send a link for all your video clips from GOOGLE DOCS to: tomreefer1@gmail.com

Gr8 video, does ammonia effect corals, or just fish. My new tank is only a week old, used dr.tims one and only and tims ammonia

Hi Jack! Glad to hear that you’ve learned a lot! Yes ammonia will affect/kill corals. Take your time. Wait until ammonia and nitrite are 0ppm. Then about 50% water change, test after 3-7 days, if still 0 ppm, then you are ready to start adding. But go very slow. Corals first, then fish. Any questions Jack, feel free here. 👍🏻😊

Is it possible to run bare bones just live rock and wave maker? Can u do a talk on a super bare bones ten gallon
Hi Mandy, you can run a Nano Reef tank on live rock and a wave maker. You’ll need to do weekly water changes to keep your parameters in check, but it can be done👍🏻😊
Hi, not coral related. What is the exact name for your r.o. resevoirs.Here in South Africa, we have jerry cans but the dimensions are much bigger, yours are perfect for my application.

What is the best placement for wavemaker/Powerheads in a reef tank? My tank is a 29 gallon and it seems the flow either isn't enough or I have them placed incorrectly. The wavemakers I have are rated at 800gph for ea one. 2 are in the tank, 1 one ea side facing each other.
Hi Salti, sometimes ratings are that accurate. The way you’ve placed them is correct. What brand are you using?
@@TOMReefer Aquaneat is the brand. Bought off amazon. But I purchased a Aquatop wavemaker from my LFS to see if the current was under/overrated compared to a name brand, seemed the same to me. Thought about moving them to the back glass and having them blow toward the front glass. Just not sure how to aim them from the back glass, or if that's a good idea.

Hai tom..which way are better if i need dosing alk 20ml perday (from 7.6 to maintain 8.3)by split it to 2x dosing(10ml+10ml) .or dosing all 20ml at once..And if i do at once 20ml if it okey because it not increase dkh more than 1dkh?need your advice
Hi Amir, it’s better to split it. 2 times. Try to do it after light go out and before they come on in the morning👍🏻

Great video Tom!! Have a question. How do you determine if you've had RTN on coral..I know it should be obvious but I just suddenly lost 5 lps coral after a water change. They just literally lost all color and tissue and went down to the skeleton.
That’s RTN but it usually happens on SPS? Did you mean sps?

@@TOMReefer my fault..larger water change than normal. Having algae issues so stirred up sand bed more than normal. Have some toadstool so guessing I pissed them off and they spit toxin into water..at least that's my guess

Interesting I’ve been using RC and of late I’m noticing that when I do a Water change Im getting diatoms in the sand bed the next day . They go away after a day or two, but there annoying. I’ve read that others have experienced this with RC. Have you ever experienced this?
