The reason that some players (book, lavine, etc) only went up some and some trash young players went up like 10, 12 points is because the player progression rate adjusts how quickly a player gets to his potential. Players have a set potential that they will eventually stop at, the progression rate gets them there faster but can’t make their potential higher
that and you're not making mid to high 90s unless you can do everything, if you're not a good defender your potential isn't as high

You also have to take in account the shooting tendency for most of the young guys. It's usually super low so even though they're high overalls doesnt mean they're gonna shoot the ball or get a lot of touches

Nba Walker I’m in 2025 atm, so far most he has averaged is 18.1 points. Which was only because for some reason he was playing 42 minutes a game. Although I think it’s because of the team being so stacked so he doesn’t get as many shots? That’s usually what happens in 2K simulations when you have a lot of great players on one team, all the stats are lower.
for me lauri markkanen never averages more than like 15 no matter what his overall is
jordonkry Yh that’s another player that technically underperforms. I think it’s because of the tendencies of the players. If a player is on my team, I usually edit the tendencies so that they actually take more shots in the games to increase the points totals to more realistic numbers.

@@ATF- Ya just edit the tendencies, make them the first or second scoring option (whatever you wanna do) etc. The tendencies thing is huge. I've looked through the tendencies for some of these players and they make literally no sense whatsoever. I don't find it to be cheating at all. It's basically you as the coach/GM just telling them to shoot more often or less often or whatever, which is a common thing that happens. You can tell them to shoot less pull up contested midranges, and shoot more open 3s, shoot more 3s in transition, and stuff like that for example. That's usually the issue with players like that though is the tendencies.
