@@ajanalysis7742 You don't get into the hall of fame just cause you're physically challenged.. that would be as silly as saying a guy (who was born with a deformed leg) and ran the 100m in 14 seconds should get an olympic medal whereas guys who ran under 10 seconds don't get one, just cause the guy was born with a messed up leg.
There are plenty of NBA players who have FAR more accolades, awards, and accomplishments than Mugsy and never got into a hall of fame. It's ridiculous someone should get into the hall of fame just cause he was born short.
@@libfit9068 its not ridiculous when the average height in the sport you are playing in is 6'6 and the fact that basketball is the most height dependent sport in the world. One of the most common things people say to short players is that "you can't teach height'. The fact he made it anywhere near NBA level is already incredible let alone playing 14 seasons averaging a near double double for half of those seasons and lets not forget he was a key component of arguably the greatest high school team of all time. Also, he did all this in an era where posting up and playing down low in the post was the style of basketball that was being played.

Mugsey Bogues has never even made an allstar appearance. He averaged in the single digits for his career. He's never made an all NBA team, nor all defensive team. Never led the league in any statistical stat for any season. Never won anything. You don't get into the hall of fame just cause you're short.

I’m 5’ 5” only made it to HS Point guard but I was still the shortest 8th grade up. Mugsy was a true hero, although I was more of a J Kidd fan (I’ve been a MFFL) Mugsy was a true legend as much as even Magic. He overcame so many obstacles, pure inspiration.

Maybe it’s because I’m high, but Muggsy’s story is friggen incredible! How could someone 5’3 make it to the NBA?! How was he even given the opportunity to play at the high school level? He may not be an all time great, but when you account for his size, he’s gotta be in the GOAT conversation. Seriously! A lot of people don’t include the great big men in their goat opinions because of their size (taller you are, easier to score etc.), but how many of your top 10 players ever would have made the NBA if they were 5’3? Michael Jordan couldn’t make his varsity team when he was under 6 ft.
I don’t think Muggsy’s the goat by any means, but he definitely deserves more respect. In today’s game, he probably would have made an all star team

I’d disagree. He’s good regardless. I think what makes him so good and unique in the first place correlates directly to his height. He’s far too smooth and quick for other players. He practically can steal the ball from anyone-and not vice versa as his vertical is too low for a 7 foot player to sweep away. Anyone can shoot a basket. Not everyone can do what Muggsy does.
