✓ the song was written by siedah Garrett with her cowriter glen bellard and Michael joined also ✨... Michael asked siedah who wrote man in the mirror to write another song for him so they met in the studio where Glen bellard played gospel on piano and Michael and siedah improvised ( and that was how they got the lyrics) 😍😍
✓Michael recorded this songs after finishing Bad tour which was very exhausting to him and affected his voice so much.
While recording, the song tone was high to Michael and in the middle of the session, Michael's voice cut out and was out of his control and this never happened to him before so he left the headphones and left the room in hurry💔 . When his music engineer told the story he said
"I found him standing in the corner of his office crying his eyes out. He was totally heartbroken. Cut to the quick, we went to the studio, cut a whole new demo ... We didn't leave until dawn"
So letterally, Michael kept the faith to continue the song in a perfect way✨✨

I think this song should’ve been bigger. It possesses the same qualities as Man in the mirror. Man I can’t wait till you hear the history album, some of those songs were quite sad and extremely powerful/uplifting for the majority of the album. Very experimental.
A friend of mine lost his mom and by that time i have already met MJ a few times and formed a friendship with one of his security guards. My friend was very close to his mom. We went to the hospital and saw her body and he wished her farewell. He was all devastated of course. I called MJs bodyguard a few days later and told him. This is the time nothing can mend my friends pain. And the way Michael loves his mom, he surely would understand. It would be so lovely if there would be some sorts of message i could pass on to him maybe? My bodyguard friend said: I will tell him. Later that week i was by his side at the funeral. A few weeks later i got mail. Michael sent him a message and also added one for me (which i never asked or hoped for, just shows the type of person he was). I then wrapped it all in a phrame (it was a signed autograph with the note: My love is with you always) ...I sat my friend down and played this song and told him to open the gift. I told him: Michael knows you lost your mom and these are the words coming from him to u. My friend was very very moved. This is the real Michael Jackson. He wrote notes and messages to ppl all around the world. There are thousands of stories similar to mine. He reached out to everyone he could.
Funny how the press and media never presented this side of MJ. Beautiful story. Perfect song choice too.

welcome to the Black American Church. this is Michael's Gospel song for sure. and this is most Black churches on any given Sunday. Andrae Crouch truly brought the Gospel element into this piece, both vocally and musically. when i first heard this song in December of 1991 (i was 9 at the time), this along with "She Drives Me Wild", "Remember The Time", and "Dangerous" were my favorite songs from this album.
What I love about your reactions is that you appreciate the depth of the lyrics, positivity and levels of MJ's creativity. If I'm not mistaken, this was actually written and recorded in the late 80s on the back of Man In The Mirror.. There's footage of MJ playing this at a friend's home in 1989 I believe. You can also tell because the drums are very similar to MITM/80s sounding and dont sound like the rest of the Dangerous album.. Powerful track!
The song was recorded between June 25, 1990 and October 30, 1991 at Record One, Larrabee North and Westlake Recording Studios.

I think the date given in the video is wrong. Michael only signed the new record deal with Sony Music on March 20, 1990. You can also hear at the very beginning of the video someone saying "Record One", that's the recording studio. It was made specifically for the recording of Dangerous. Very unlikely that Michael would have pre-financed it. After all, that's the job of the record company. Also, I have personally spoken to someone who was part of the recording team and knows from when to when it was recorded. I'm not telling fairy tales.
@bluewhitecars Wasn't saying it was fairy tales. The dates you mentioned are the dates publicly cited for the recording sessions of the Dangerous album but doesnt necessarily mean individual tracks couldn't have been recorded earlier... for example Another Part Of Me was recorded in early 1985 for Captain EO and then ended up on BAD in 1987. MJ was scheduled to release a compilation album in 1989 similar to what would eventually become HIStory in 95 and there's evidence to suggest he was working on an early version of Who Is It as early as 1987 so it's definitely possible. The presence of the studio or contract wouldn't have any bearing on recording material to later be refined into a finished article... Again MJ was notorious for having demos that sounded like finished articles... just saying

This song is so uplifting. I remember self-motivating myself with Keep the Faith in the months where I was preparing a competitive exam. And I passed ! I was so happy.

@@SephPlays I was recently laid off from my Project Management job in early March. So I have been attempting to apply for jobs and start a few online businesses and have not been very successful at it.
But now I’m starting my own agency to help companies with their Google presence and social media marketing etc and I believe this is going to be the one that helps me to get where I want to go.
I’m feeling pretty confident with this business. I already have some sales reps on my team who are very good at their job and know what they’re doing so …. I’m optimistic now!😊

Amazing reaction! For me Dangerous is the best album MJ ever created, history and blood kn the dancefloor are amazing too, but the package of dangerous is just so tight and goes deep, the album ends of with the banger dangerous title track i hope you enjoy that one

Firstly.... Michael loved GOD! Michael said GOD gave him the songs to sing, and Michael hsd faith in GOD. He wanted others to Keep The Faith, not just in GOD, in theirselves as well. Second, Michael that hust telling people wasnt enough, he shoeed by example, was he always successful... No, however he kept on trying. That is why songs like Man In The Mirror

The Song was recorded from 25 June 1990 to 30 October 1991. The recording of MJ's vocals made life difficult for Michaels Coproducer and recording engineer Bruce Swedien, because Michael struggled to find the tone the song demanded because over the long recording period of more than a year Michael's voice matured and became a little deeper.
After several takes, he finally broke down.
Bruce Swedien: "I found him standing in the corner of his office, crying his eyes out. He was totally heartbroken-cut to the quick… We went to the studio, cut a hole new demo, and recorded a scratch vocal all the way through…we didn't leave the studio until dawn."
During these long sessions Michael adjusted the way he placed his voice, and took the opportunity to refine the lyrics at the end of the song.
The young Singer Shanice Wilson, who at the time was topping the charts with her song I Love Your Smile, shared the backing vocals in Keep The Faith with Siedah Garret.
I thought it was because of the Bad Tour which lasted for almost 2 years and it kind of damaged his voice and he couldn't really find the tone?
@@lauren-mo1km Not really. The Bad Tour was already a year and a half ago. His voice was perfectly fine. As mentioned, the first recordings took place in mid-1990 and his voice simply got deeper over time. A natural process. There are a few recordings circulating on CZcams of these early recordings, maybe you can find them. They come from a series of tapes made by Rob Disner, one of the assistant recording engineers.

@@lauren-mo1km No, Ezraa's story is correct so far, except for the part about the voice. It had nothing to do with the Bad Tour but with the natural process of changing his voice. He had already sung the song once before with a higher pitch and then couldn't reproduce it in the same form a year later. I know that first hand.
