- Hello everyone, this is Run Ze super excited to share with the 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature Trim Line. This beast packs a lot of driving pleasure with its 310 lb-ft of torque. I cannot even believe something at this price range and platform is able to give me this number! There are plenty of luxurious touches inside the cabin; the small details matter! Even tho the infotainment screen is a bit small, the rest of the vehicle definitely made up for it. The Nappa leather seats are probably the most comfortable seats across its competitors. The rear heated seats did take us a moment to find out where it is and I think its quite interesting they put it in the centre armrest/cup holder. I always overlooked the Mazda vehicles due to the rust issues that happened before 2010 but I admit that I am thoroughly impressed. I’m going to crown the CX-5 as my top 3 SUVs of 2019. Let me know what highlights and features you guys love about the 2019 Mazda CX-5. As always, let’s start a conversation.

Nice video bro...ended up buying this recently thanks to reviews like this.
This will age better than the Tiguan
Tiguan is under powered .
Great review. Keep up the good content. Plan on getting inside one of these CX5s soon. Got yourself a Sub.
Periko Tee thanks for watching Periko! I hope you do get yourself one, lots of fun to drive
Outstanding work! Very relaxed with great communication and balance of technical and layman terms. I am thinking of purchasing this vehicle in the spring. I agree with you 100% that Mazda is very underrated! Thanks again for a great review.
Ewen MacDonald thank you for your kind words! I hope you do get yourself into this vehicle, you’ll have a blast for your day to day driving
I have a 2019 model GT. When I put in sport. It hauls like a sport car!
Great review sir and im gonna get this suv. Btw your enthusiasm makes your review more fun to watch. One thing ive noticed though is that you keep on using the clip with the honda plant background but overall you are great bro. Will follow you now. Keep up the good work.
Bing Flores LOL I know I know. We tried to film more footage of the car rolling but it was super cold that day 😅😅
Nicely done.
Leonard moreira thanks for watching!
Nicely presented review coldstart! I’m seriously considering the CX5 signature when my 2017 Acura RDX lease is up, although I do like it’s normally aspirated V6 with 279 HP, but don’t like the buggy dual screen tech/nav which won’t pair with my new iPhone XR. The CX5 signature is a great deal when you consider the horse power, torque, heads up display, 360 camera, vented seats, Napa leather, etc for under $40k USD.
I would just love this with a 7 speed manual and rear biased awd!
Still great though.
87 most times and 91 for a longer road trip etc. Nice job, I am probably gonna choose this over the CRV and RAV4...I really want a Q5 or RDX but don’t wanna spend the money at this time. Closest thing to it.
I hope you do! My choice (without financial limitation) would be the Q5 or the X5 haha
As always, amazing quality!!
Thanks for watching Kyle!
I love that it locks the gas door. I just don’t like that my 2019 GT doesn’t have the new gas gasket. It still haves the old turning knob.
Gas gasket?
DiverKnight Ford models, all you do is put the gas pump in. While, in the Mazda. You have to turn a knob.
I will lease a cx5 signature to replace my current lease that ends in November. I plan to fill up with 93 octane since I only visit the pump once every week and a half.
I am thinking about also leasing one. I have never leased,do you find leasing to be better than buying?
Damn, that cinematic intro dude was just cool. Good job with the review!
Thanks for watching Lance!
Hey bud, I watch car reviews religiously and I have to say, your reviews are very unique and completely different. Your cuts and editing is what sets your reviews apart from the other reviewers. Keep this up as this brings a great new type of review system compared to the big guys. I think you spend a little too much time going of the aesthetics of the car. No need to go over every detail as a picture is worth a 1000 words. That could shorten your review quite a bit.
Otherwise, keep doing you man. The cinematic trailer in the beginning was refreshing. keep up the work!
CmanCorporations thank you so much for your kind words! We will always be improving and hopefully get to a point where we can dedicate full time hours so our content gets even better. I hope you will stick around with us for the journey 😁
Beautiful video. Just got my CX-5 Signature delivered last week. One quick question though, where in the GTA can we get 93 gasoline? Costco, Shell, Ultramar, Husky, etc. sell 91 while PetroCanada has 94!
Thanks for watching and congratulations on your CX-5! To be honest, I would choose shell 91 over Petrol/Esso 94 any day. I put that in my 370Z and I've gotten better results; whether it would be the throttle response or fuel range.
@@ColdStart Thanks for the response. I'm new to Canada and still figuring stuff out. Have a good one.
I currently have a 2017 CX-5 Grand Touring and am considering leasing one of these. Do you think there is enough to make it worth the upgrade?
is the Cupra Ateca not available in the US?
Hey, can you please do a review of the new Mercedes A Class? I’m really thinking of buying that and would love to know your thoughts on it!
Aditya Ananth yes! We will do it once we can get our hands on it :)
Challenge Q: Which one would you take - this or 2019 Rav 4 Hybrid ?
chat2stephen Oz I would need a rain cheque to this question! The RAV4 Hybrid is coming here in April.
guys, handcream on me! stay warm!

@@ColdStart deal!
Center console needs redesign due to the uncomfortable arm rest position on the glove box, it's too low and to far back. Cup holder placement is not user friendly. The seats need more knee support seat cushion too short, beef up the seats with side bolsters. And how about struts for the hood along with engine compartment light, too many vehicle manufacturers now days looking to cut expense by placing support rods for the hood rather than struts. Still using interior incandescent lights, how about upgrading to daylight led. It's the little details that make or break the sales.
Dude, it does have factory NAV, the dealer probably just didn’t put the SD map card in the slot in the center console near the USB ports. Of course with Apple car play/Android Auto, who uses factory NAV anyway.
The only advantage of the factory nav is the directions show up in the heads up display. Wish google maps would also.
Which one would you take for about the same money this CX-5 or the Tiguan R-Line you recently tested?
Yippie If I were to drive without carrying passengers on a day to day basis, I would take the CX-5 hands down. Honestly I know I repeated a lot in the video but this 310 lb-ft of torque is out of this world; it’s a drivers car in its class and competitors. As the Mazda brand suggests and articulates, it unites and signifies the motion of riding a horse, syncing the driver to the vehicle.
The Tiguan is great! If you require more passenger/cargo space, it’s a no brainer.
@@ColdStart Thanks for the reply. Tough choice... I wish we could get the Euro All-space Tiguan R-Line here in North America. It has the GTI's engine, 7 speed DSG, and paddle shifters.
@@sirronkcuhc People are not buying those SUV's because they have CVT's. They buy Honda and Toyota the most because they are large established brands with a good track record for reliability. The Mazda CX-5 which uses a 6 speed Auto and the Subaru Forester which uses a CVT have sales numbers not too far off from each other. 171.613 Foresters sold versus 150.622 for the CX-5 in 2018, USA. In comparison, in 2018 Toyota RAV 4 sales were 427.168 and the Honda was 379.013. The RAV 4 uses a conventional automatic transmission (except hybrid) and is the sales leader. The Honda CR-V uses a CVT.
@@sirronkcuhc Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing the other day. I'm excited about the Arteon but I would want the 7 speed DSG. I think VW thinks we don't want DSG but we do. I think a few people complained who don't understand how they work. Obviously not by people who are into cars, and VW caved. I owned a CC with DSG before. The best transmission I've ever used.
87, its cheaper!
Errold Borges 👀👀
And the torque doesn't change, even with the 87
Excellent review👍👍.....in my opinion mazda CX 5 and toyota RAV4 are very reliable, durable cars and also decent pricing.,looking for more safety, handling VW tiguan is the best choice especially Tiguan technologies sharing from Audi q3 "almost similar".😊
Rajesh Kumar I 100% agree. The technology inside the VW is a lot more advanced than its competitors on the market. I don’t think anyone else is offering the in-dash navigation.
@@ColdStart i second that 👍
Who needs that hi end tech with the bigger screen when you all need to do in a car is DRIVE ! not be distracted by fancy tech to get your eyes off the road and crash
He is out of whack. CX5 is a compact SUV, 3rd row seating is useless. Get the CX-9 or a minivan if you need 3rd row seats.
did anyone who test drove this car smell this burning smell in the cabin when pushing the car? I test drove one and pushed it hard going uphill (scared the crap outta the sales guy LOL) but I started smelling a burnt stench inside the cabin. Even the sales guy admitted that he smelled it but didn't know what it was... anyone know if this is a common issue with Mazda or with all cars in general?
LOL... I'm glad you pushed it hard. I believe the burning smell came from the engine burning some oil from pushing so hard.
@@ColdStart LOL I see... does the smell usually go away after the engine breaks in?
James Ling yes
I had that happen when I test drove the same 2016 Miata I bought. That just happens when the engine & transmission haven't been broken in. It'll disappeared after the first 500-1000 miles tops.
the car lacks the roof rails. looks so silly without them
Roof rails and rack are an option, they are available.
@@ronhill6947 I don't doubt it. Just saying it looks odd :)
The competitor is RAV-4 not HIGHLANDER. And while the exterior design and interior are nice the second room is way too tight. I also don’t like the add on screen on top of dashboard look, no attempt to integrate into interior design. Still a fine vehicle and this version is speedy too but expensive, almost Audi Q5 levels or Acura RDX levels. I think the base version will have a tough time against the masculine looking new RAV-4, as will anything in compact non premium segment.
Paul M yes you caught me 😅😅. I had no idea why I said highlander, but meant to say the outlander. As a drivers car, it packs a lot of fun. As for the exterior design, it is a bit lack lustre after the front bumper. Lines are soft, not much to look at it. Overall, I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
We’ll be reviewing the all new X7 as soon as it gets here and see how that turns out
The Audi Q5 is waaaay more expensive. But yes, the backseat is really tight. RAV4 has it squarely beat there.
Paul M, similar equipped Q5 with less hp is $15k more. Any vehicle in this class w/ ~250 hp, heads up display, 360 view and vented seats in Napa leather is going to be expensive.
It's a bit tighter than average, but not so much as it looks in this video... The front-seat is very reclined back.
