  • Planting Corn & Filling the Planter On the Go
In this video I am out in the field with a Family Farm in Darke County Ohio as they are working ground and planting their 2022 corn crop. In this video they are working ground with their John Deere 9570RX tractor pulling a 40 foot wide Great Plains turbo Max. They are planning corn with their John Deere 8RX 410 tractor pulling a 36 row Deere DB60 planter on 20 inch row spacing. They then keeping the planter supplied with nitrogen fertilizer on the go using their John Deere XUV865M Gator with the 360 Yield Center sprint system. This allows them to reduce the weight of the planter and not have to stop as often to refill.

    Mike,
This refilling on the go is the coolest thing I’ve seen all year. That young man is contributing to the farm in a measurable way. He is increasing the number of acres planted per day. Can’t beat that for productivity !!!

As for your videos I personally think they are all great and really enjoy watching them. You're the only channel in the USA that I subscribe to, as you have the biggest assortment of videos I find worth watching. I think that 'set up' of re-filling 'on the go' is most unusual and perhaps something we will see more of in the future, - after all someone has to be first, and then others follow, - that's how all things start. As for those threats, - all I can say is there are some very sick minds out their and they're just insignificant little nobodies, and the only way they can have their 1 minute of fame is to do or say something like that. All that said and done, - Greetings from the UK.

Double D.

I remember the earlier video on this system and and am stunned that it drew negative comments. This reloading on the go system could be a massive time saver. For the two row planters I grew up using, no. But for a 36 row planter, it makes a lot of sense. If you can add 30-60 minutes of planting time per day, that is a lot of acreage with a 36 row. Why has this system not become more widespread? I have a brother farming a few miles east of this farm, and I know his grandsons would LOVE to drive that Gator.
