VALDIGNE They weren’t as bad as I though they were going to be all things in perspective. Their songbook is lightyears behind Liverpool’s as are most clubs though and most of their banners made me think I was going the England match. Other than that all the spurs fans I bumped into in Zaragoza and Madrid were nothing but respectful and humble. As a born and bred scouser, die-hard Liverpool fan (just getting round to watching the opposition view), one of my biggest fears before this game was a morbid one, the amount of tickets I knew would be scalped everywhere made me certain that because it was two English clubs, there would be trouble at some point that would develop quickly into a brawl in the stands and we could both be banned next season. Credit to the hundreds in areas of the stadium ignoring opposition cheers/chants likely only a few feet away.
