doesnt get any better than this, only the jealous and ignorant, have bad things to say about this man, my mom played his songs daily and of course i listened and fell in love with them to, this is real music!! Thanks for the upload and all of his songs!!!
My wife and I were in the car, and as I listen primarily to AM stations, (I'm 64 and grew up listening to Eng, as my mom was a huge fan) this song came on. I said to her, "There's the best singer we'll hear all day."
even if he is still singing at 100 i will pay top bucks to see his show. i last saw him in 2018 in Winnipeg and his voice is getting better and more powerful than ever. God given talent
This always makes me cry. Cry for the loss of the innocence of life. I just cannot help it. My Mother used to have me sing this to her. She herself was a professional singer, yet she loved to hear me sing it.
Such a beautiful voice ... I was in the front row in San Diego in the 80's, and he had this red embroidered scarf tucked into the waistband of his pants. When he went to throw it, he looked right at me and I caught it! (Had to beat off a couple little old ladies, but I got it!! He wears great cologne! LOL). (He had the scarf in the waistband on his pants for over half the show, so by the time he threw it to me, it was quite ...moist? LOL. Let's just say I have lots of Engelbert's DNA on it).
im 58 and my grandad played this song and others to me at the time they didnt interest me that much i would have been about 8 or 9 but something must have hit a cord because i keep coming back to them

I remember this man all in white with that gorgeous chest of his displayed at a show at Caesars in Atlantic City New Jersey about 1981. It took my breath away to listen to him singing his love songs that were just directed to me ... Well, that's what it seemed to me.
I am watching a short tv film based around this song at the moment! Unfortunately it's not sung by Engelbert, but it takes me back to when I was 15, Engelbert was my hero!
Loved Engelbert since about 1970. Of course, he is now in his 80s, but what a handsome man he was back then. And, that voice, so wonderful. Keep rockin Engelbert.
О боже! Просто гипнотическое воздействияе! Это просто наваждение! Невозможно прекратить слушать это чудо и не смотреть на него! Потрясающе! Спасибо мистер Хампердинк за такой роскошный подарок!❤❤❤
theme from the movie. Bicycles of Belsize park....it was not much of a hit in the 60s but I was in living in Belgium in 68-69 and it was big over there. I think it is one of his very best songs. Others have recorded it, but it is Engelbert's! He just gets better with time. Thanks for this post!
My parents courted to this music before they were married in 1968. Happy 44th anniversary today, Mom and Dad...on another subject, EH sure is attractive here, the way he uses his hands and stands planted firmly on the ground...and those sensual lips...what a man...
Turning and turning The world goes on. We can't change it, my friend. Let us go riding all through the days, Together to the end, to the end. When I was age 10 and 11 and Humperdinck looked as in the video, I thought he was the most handsome man on Earth. He was indeed handsome. During the 1960's and early 1970's he was a heartthrob among women in their twenties and thirties. I have a CD of his famous hits. I still like his songs.

Heard this song on the radio this morning and start to remember what the title is may father used to listen to this song when i was young.. I went to google and search for tom jones.. Then suddenly realized maybe its from engelbert humperdink since they sounded alike.. And there it its... Old and Gold... Aug. 23 2020 09:20 am Philippines..
Oh yeah, crazy talent. I remember being a kid when Engelbert and Tom Jones were dominating their genre. My parents had all the old crooners albums in the house. Sinatra, Andy Williams, Matt Munro, Tony Bennett, Jack Jones etc. All those guys were great. But these two guys were just better with the exception of Sinatra. Sinatra didn't have the voice these fellows had but he knew how to sing. He really did sound like he was singing to you, the listener. No idea how he did that, strange talent. Over the years I've gone back and forth as to which of these two guys was better. I have come to the conclusion that they are both great, but just different. Engelbert was actually hospitalized for malnutrition at one point in his career because he couldn't earn enough to sustain him and his family...hard to imagine. Gordon Mills, manager for both Jones and Humperdinck was a genius. He thrust-ed both of these great talents into the public eye and the rest is history. Lucky for us.
I had no idea that the title was les bicyclettes de belsize.I always heard, Lady St.Clair de belsize.I hardly ever listened to this song and wasn't a fan of Englebert, but there is something appealing about the song. So, about 56 yrs later, I finally learned what he was singing!!!😂
Love Engelbert (and Tom!) and this is my favourite from EH. Thanks, Mum, for introducing me to such great singers (I can credit her for my love of The Seekers and The Platters too).
A song about everlasting friendship (TRUE FRIENDSHIP), and NOT the FACESHIT, TUENTICRAP, INSTAVOMIT and all that ANTI-social networking most people is used to these days. Friendship is not what it used to be in the past. Now everyone has a price and sooner or later you're sold to the highest bidder!
My parents courted to this beautifully haunting song as recorded by Engelbert. Maestro Les Reed, one of its co-writers, passed away yesterday. RIP, sir.
Saw him at. Cadets. Windsor. Early 2000s. He was so good. Comical sexy charming. As a teen my eldest sister. Jean . Late 60s hubby got her a console hi fi. With. EH. LP. And he got me. Herman Hermits.. Peter Noon. It was a wonderful time to be alive....thanks. Englebert.
Wonderful. I will never understand why the very depressing song Please Release Me did so well. This song and Ten Guitars are far better but less well known.
Precious enge,he is the most gorgeous guy I ve ever seen.his beautiful voice ,his gorgeous green eyes, his radiant black hair, his stunning built,he is just so so handsome and elegant, and still is even till today.his voice is so heavenly,I have to hear his music and songs every day, love him so the man of my dreams.god bless him always.
Just rediscovered this on a greatest hits package and had to check out a live version. Englebert. What an awesome singer and incredible voice. What a beautiful song. Thanx for posting this.
Memories of my lovely dad who passed with cancer at, 41, this song reminds me of going to the bus stop in the sixties to meet and walk home with him, I always had my Little transistor radio with me. I was 11at the time and he died shortly after. When I hear this song it just brings it all back. Sorry for being Morbid, but the song gives me goosebumps. Thankyou Englebert, much love.
My mom had his albums and I immediately fell in love with his music. I got to take my sister to see him at The Greek and my mom to see him in Lake Tahoe. I still love this man’s music.

What a Voice that is lacking nowadays.
My wife and I were in the car, and as I listen primarily to AM stations, (I'm 64 and grew up listening to Eng, as my mom was a huge fan) this song came on. I said to her, "There's the best singer we'll hear all day."
just beautiful......and so's ENGELBERT...Those where the days..........now that's what yah call music......
even if he is still singing at 100 i will pay top bucks to see his show. i last saw him in 2018 in Winnipeg and his voice is getting better and more powerful than ever. God given talent
Engelbert delivers on a rich experience.
This always makes me cry. Cry for the loss of the innocence of life. I just cannot help it.
My Mother used to have me sing this to her. She herself was a professional singer, yet she loved to hear me sing it.
Your mother sounds liike a true professional, one who appreciates and learns from the gifts of others.

I’m on a nostalgia trip tonight. Wish I could go back to this time. Just such beautiful music and Engel was the best of the best. Still is!!!!!

The overwhelming power of this video-the music, the lyrics, and his marvelous voice as smooth as silk drawn through oil-is almost surreal.

Just about my favorite Englebert song, magnificent!
He is the greatest. Voice has so many layers . Sheer magic.
