Great video! It saves me a lot of time. One addition I would make, is to spray down the trough after the oil filter is reinstalled to clean out the residue oil that will drip when you are done.
That’s a great add!!
Did not realize you are in the US until I saw the engine bay, thanks for the video, it is very helpful and detailed.
I have been using a Ford Everest 2019 since late 2019, have to say it is quite a chore to access all those places.
thank you I just got a new Ranger that gave a big relief
Of course!
Incredible video thank you very much 👍🏿
Good video. Very clear. Steady camera work. Well done and thank you.
I just changed the oil in my 2020 FX4 and it sucks. Living in a part of Canada where we get major snow, those tabs you need to take off to get to the filter was covered in a good 2 inches of ice. Nonetheless this video helped a lot! Thanks so much!
Fantastic video, couldn’t be better. Could you show us how to replace front/rear brake pads please 🙏 ?
TY. 2023 XLT. Used my hand on filter, both off and on. To think, almost did not buy the truck, because (wrong) remove wheel stories.
Great video thanks mate
Thanks for the video.
With mine I installed M5 rivnuts in the holes for the fasteners and reattached the flap with stainless steel screws and washers. Just had to enlarge the holes slightly.
Xlts have the same skid plate if anyone is wondering
Edit: I thought the oil drain plug was 20 inch-lbs?!
This is a great step by step guide. I see your a harbor freight fan, one of us, one of us.. ! :O
A few questions; when ya gunna drop the 10R80 transmission to replace the filter? At 30 or 60k? What about using a Mityvac Fluid Evacuator? Also, I hear the rear/forward differential can be upgraded with a new casing (Ex; Ford Performance), when do you plan on replacing yours? This seems to be high wear item. Lastly, no oil catch can? Interesting! Keep it up Wolfie!
lol no 20 ft lbs! And thank you sir! I appreciate it! I love my harbor freight gear! lol
I plan on doing the transmission & t-case service at 30k miles. I've heard good things about that Fluid Evacuator but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet
I'll probably wait till around 25k miles to look at the differentials
I do have an oil catch can! But I do oil changes around every 4k miles and the catch can doesn't fill up that fast. But I should have mentioned it!
How do you reset the "Oil change require" in your instrument cluster?
Thanks for the video. Got me a 2020 XLT myself. Have you ever notice fuel smell when checking your oil? Quite a lot of Rangers are having this issue and it is a concern. My does smell of fuel when I check the dipstick.
Yes, these engines are known for having a lot of blow-by. I installed an oil catch can to help protect the engine from the blow-by buildup
Oil blow by is something I was not aware of. I've my 2020 for a little over a year and am on my 3rd or 4th oil change. Time to look into this catch pan mod.
What's the disclaimer say in red? It's not legible. Thanks
Great video, thanks.
What a mess ford has made this.
Wish i woulda known before i bought it.
Glad I watched ur video before purchasing a Ranger, THANK YOU. As a DIY, to much rigmarole. Think about process when truck not brand new, full of dirt and Chicago road salt rust! Will look into other Ford products!
The oil change has to be done under 10 minutes this is stated in other videos. Is that correct?
You left out the part of how i'm gonna remove the oil filter from the factory, if the oil filter wrench you suggest won't fit it!
I found the dipstick in the truck to be utterly useless lol. Whenever I check the oil, you can't see a thing. No, I don't mean there is no oil. Just that it is inconclusive. Seems a majority of the stick is coated and hard to get a reading. Even after letting the truck sit for an hour or so
The filter they are fitting is not for the ranger that I have
are you a non USA model?
Doesn’t all this need to be done within 15 minutes?
its doable in 15
Why do I have to keep re subbing to your channel?. I'm unsubbed again today. Heck it's probably something I'm doing. Anyway, enjoy the channel and just found it recently but really have enjoyed watching. I hope you're still doing it.
Your skid plate is just like the one I have
Oh man that looks complicated
Looks like a pain in the butt 😕
