As a fellow cancer survivor, I clicked on this video as soon as I saw it. No one will ever have the same experience as you but, it's so helpful to talk to or just listen to other cancer survivors. When I first met other childhood cancer survivors, hearing their cancer stories and finding others to relate to; helped me accept the negatives associated with cancer and then let go of those feelings and thoughts. I love Jubilee's content and I always wanted them to make this video because there are so many connections with their other content. Especially when there is grief involved.
đ Have you seen '50/50' (2011)?
If so, did you like that movie?
Another survivor here
Same! Childhood cancer survivor as well. Iâm glad to see that they made this video recognizing those who have fought.
I have a port scar on my chest so I felt much better visibly seeing the scar on some of the people in this video.
There are different kinds of cancer and childhood cancer is what I experienced. I couldn't agree more with your comment!
Havenât seen a group of strangers be so supportive of each other
Connor Hughes GD having cancer (especially as a young adult) really really changes you and it honestly creates this unspoken bond between all survivors because no one can truly in their heart of hearts understand what happened to you
lindsey true to an extent. My mom had cancer and uncle had cancer and when my mom saw my uncle during remission for the first time, they broke down in tears and had an intense conversation. However, my mother has never been to a cancer march. She doesnât have any friends that have survived cancer. I believe she doesnât identify with other survivors because she has reached different conclusions. Iâm sure if she met another survivor they would be very supportive. But I doubt she would agree with this âunspoken bondâ when I donât think sheâs ever experienced that.

this episode had the nicest group of people ever
In your opinion, what are the top 3 rudest "types" of people that have been on this show?
One of the things that stuck with me was when the woman said to live your best life. Whether it's eating pizza and laughing with your friends, you don't have to be super woman. I like that mentality. I love these people. I hope they have good lives, they deserve so much happiness.
lock heart me too!! Definitely an amazing video!
This was one of the strongest episodes in my opinion.
Iâd like to see a brief one on one interview with each person on spectrum, like you do with middle ground. So we know each personâs name, what kind of cancer they have / had, and anything else theyâd like to share (if theyâre ok with that)
WishAtElevenEleven YES
I agree with the woman who talked about how nasty chemo is.
It's NOT the cancer for me that was horrific it was the CHEMO.
Chemo made me a mummified shell of a person..the neuropathy felt like a blow torch thru my veins...and chemo not cancer robbed me of my favorite things..
But I've fully recovered from chemo.. except for chemo brain and have so much gratitude for the return of good health. Better health than before my diagnosis..
I understand where you are coming from, but I will always be deepfully grateful for chemo. My liver probably doesn't agree, but cancer is deadly. It is only to be expected that a treatment this harsch was necessary. A nasty treatment for an even nastier disease.
i thank god every day that my tumor was able to be removed through surgery. without surgery i would have needed to be in chemo for a long time and i knew it was going to break down my body twenty times quicker than the cancer itself
I'm sorry you had to go through this but i'm also happy you're here to share your testimony
nothing but love and hugs from here.
Heather Schimke Thatâs no cake walk. God bless you. â€ïž
thats what i told my friends they wouldnt understand and always told me no its cancer i know they meant well but the chemo is the worse
My mum suffered breast cancer last year, I struggle so much thinking about her, how to help her, take care of her... She's better now, but it's definitely a life-changing moment... I'm happy Jubilee tackled this story.

My mom also got diagnosed within this last year. With lung and colon cancer. She is free of both and pray it stays that way đ€đ» I understand the struggle of that so much. I just had a baby and then had to figure out how to help her as much as possible. Definitely life changing for so many.

âdo all children of divorce think the same?â could be an interesting concept for a future video
Haley Brewer PLEASE
yes as a child of divorce that knows a not a lot of other kids that have parents that arenât together is really weird for me and itâs hard to understand how family dynamics are supposed to work. my parents divorced when i was 3 i donât remember a time of them being together. so seeing all my life mainly only kids that have parents that are together itâs an extremely strange feeling and i donât know what life is like for people like me or if my experiences are any similar. everyone in my family has gotten divorced. i donât know what love or family is. and iâve never know and idk if i will.
An extremly touching episode, and one where everybody seems extremly likable and I would like to hear everybodies story. I am often affraid of having cancer as it's such an asshole of illness that can come at any age, everywhere in the body. You can cancer from anything, even cancertreatment. I am so glad, that somethings like public (restaurants, offices) Smoking is illegal now(My greatgradfather never smoked, his Boss did, he got cancer.)
loewenmakrele really cancer is many kinds in one. It can hit you anytime and anyone but you canât live your life afraid of it because of that. If youâre taking good care of your body you certainly have a lesser chance of many cancers. And if youâd ever get it nowadays there are many good treatment options too. Childhood leukaemia survivor here, been 4 years for me and now Iâm in college so yay donât worry too much Iâd say đ
Yeah it's like the worst type of illness cause you can't really get an immune response against it cause it's your own cells, so you actually need external treatment to get rid of it
Oh no just why???
Damn man, its so annoying when friends/family/other people you have to be around doesn't understand how bad it is for not only themselves but also the people around them
you can do quite a lot to prevent it tho; to anyone interested i can really strongly recommend the book HOW NOT TO DIE by Dr Greger, it literally changed my life. It looks at how different types of foods influence different types of diseases from prevention, to causation, treatment. For cancer specifically, broccoli and turmeric are extremely beneficial while all meats and dairy products should be avoided since they cause the body to produce the growth hormone IGF1 which causes growth where its not wanted- like in tumors.
Also, I'm in no way saying that its anyone's own fault if they get sick, sometimes that's really nothing you can control. But we can oftentimes influence our diseases for better or for worse. I just hope everyone here appreciates their bodies and takes good care of them.
the âcancer crew wassupâ guy passed the vibe check. This may have been a hard thing to open up about and he just made it so funny and comfortable

I work at a Cancer Center, and it is really nice seeing patients express themselves. Patients come in talking about their symptoms, but not how they feel. I really try to get them to talk about themselves, because they were people BEFORE cancer and will be after, whatever that may be. Of course i ask, how are you feeling, but I also ask how their weekend was, their vacation, how are the kids, grandkids, etc. I think that having a positive attitude is half the battle. I am happy they showed that people can survive and still have a great life afterwards. Media makes it seem like if you have cancer you die. My family has a history of cancer and I am scared, but i know people can get past these terrible times.

I'm a childhood cancer survivor, and it's not a fear of my cancer coming back that gets me, it's a fear of being in hospitals and feeling that level of helplessness, and being so sick you don't even mind how helpless you are. How everything smells like hospital and after a while you realize you smell like hospital. Every time I step foot in one my legs go numb and I get nauseous and if my cancer comes back and I know I'm going to spend the rest of my life (remission with my particular type of cancer is almost always fatal) in a hospital I can't think of a single worse fate. @@fakerawck what was that about lol
well our diet is probably one of the main causes, i read they think between 70 to 90% of all cancers comes from diet and lifestyle choices. Ive looked into it a little bit and cancer is very rare in remote places around the world all other diseases to such as Alzheimers. There's even a place on an italian coast where out of the 2000 people that live there 300 of them are over 100 yrs old with very little health issues. So its obvious to me we have the power to protect ourselves to a degree. Very few Doctors no anything about Diet though and its effect on disease, its not something that is taught much to them.
@@boneTHUGS111 diet and lifestyle isn't always the key. My grandfather was eating really healthy and was an active person so i dont think his lifestyle was the cause of his cancer... In fact they (my parents) never told me what it was for some reason and i just try not to bring it up...
sayianbone oh honey, where did you read that from? Please please please stop spreading false information. The main cause of cancer is genetic, and the second cause is susceptibility (meaning highly dense breast tissue has a higher chance of breast cancer, etc..) lifestyle and diet does affect but if highly depends on how your body reacts to it. Another really important factor you didnât mention is our environment.. look just please donât spread stuff when you have no idea what youâre saying
At 4:40 when Dani was apologizing for getting emotional and they all said âno donât apologizeâ it was so sweet. Itâs amazing how people can form such great communities through struggle. Are you ok now?
I was diagnosed in November 2008 with Stage IV Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I was told there was only a 5% chance it would never come back. I went through five months of chemotherapy (and survived horrible side effects that left me almost dead). Less than two years later, my cancer came back. I went through a new treatment at that time called radioimmunotherapy. So far, my cancer has not returned. However, from that first day in November 2008 when I was told I had cancer (and when I found out I was Stage IV on my birthday of all days!), my life has NEVER been the same. Even though it has been more than a decade since my treatments, it is all still so vividly clear to me. I had this video on my "watch later" list for the longest time because I knew it would be very hard for me to watch. I answered the questions for myself and how I felt/feel during my journey. It was very emotional, but I'm glad I watched it and, reading some of the comments, I agree with so many people - cancer survivors are a unique group that no one will ever understand unless they have been in our shoes. It makes me feel less lonely knowing that I am not alone and that, unfortunately, other people have been through this agony as well.
My mom is a survivor. đđđ
Cool! Good for you, and your mother!!
wut? wut? Thank you! U just made my day!!!
@@lavenderhazel5125 I'm glad, take care!!

Thatâs good
As soon as she said âcan I hug youâ I burst out crying đ
can i hug u? - *me starting to cry*
please do âdo all epileptics think the sameâ i am epileptic and i feel like it would help me thank you :)
Sarah Louise is that yoongi đ„ș
Joonâs moonchild yes đ„șâš
I would love this
As a cancer survivor, man, I felt that hard. Really hard. It's not simply the diagnosis or pain. It's e v e r y t h i n g that comes with and after it.
Great video, thank you Jubilee for this
đ Have you seen '50/50' (2011)?If so, did you like that movie?
I disagree with that topic idea though. Too depressing, if you ask me.
@@marlonmoncrieffe0728 I haven't seen that movie but the trailer looks good. I think a movie that seemed really relatable for me was 5 ft Apart. Having to be stuck in the hospital with a long list of pills, no one to talk to, etc.
And I know the topic was depressing, but that what makes Jubilee so good; they're not afraid to get down into the deep stuff. That's why people find this channel enjoyable to watch. I respect your opinion tho, not the happiest topic.

đ Have you read the novels, 'My Sister's Keeper' by Jodi Picoult or 'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green?
đ Or seen their respective 2009 and 2013 film adaptations?
Thank you for respecting my earlier opinion, by the way.
And I am sorry for your past hospital experiences. At least it is now over.
@@marlonmoncrieffe0728 Yeah, I've actually seen the movie The Fault in Our Stars. For the most part, it's pretty accurate and the movie did a great job showing how patients suffer with personal experiences and relationships between loved ones, even having to go to the ER depending on the cancer.
I'm actually still dealing with cancer treatment. Cancer's never truly treated, there's no cure. I just had radiation a month ago, but I thank you for your condolences.
I would love if Jubilee did in depth interviews with each person after to go with each one.I always leave these episodes wanting to hear more about their stories.
I would love this
As a cancer survivor myself, I want to say that I really loved this episode and that I wish every person in the video so much love, abundance, happiness and health. Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts on this very important subject. â€ïž
Easily just became my favourite episode. Everyone seemed so strong and kind and just overall great people with very wise and impactful things to say.
Makes me realize how sometimes we take life for granted.
I was diagnosed at the age of 9 with Acute Myeloid leukemia and spent 6 months in the hospital doing chemotherapy. it definitely brought my family together but it was a hard time for us and i had moments where I told them I couldn't do it anymore. This video was a good one, but i hate that so many of us have to go through this.
David Feldman praying for you!đ
iâve been through aml too at 16, beat a 1 percent survival chance. not a lot of people know what an experience like that is like, stay strong brother
Damn, this is scary, the same here, only l was diagnosed at the age of ten. Hope youâre doing okey!
Justin you didnât âbeatâ it, the doctors did.
rak 1507 Were the doctors the one taking all the medicine, doing every single treatment? Were the doctors the one fighting a life threatening illness?? Yes, they did provide the medicine, and yes, they did provide all the treatment and whatever, but they arenât the ones actually doing all the hard work. Stfu and donât start talking about something you donât understand
Literally one of the best episodes! Everyone had some type of positive outlook for themselves and for each other! Everyone shared darker moments but pushed themselves to be stronger! Thank you to everyone who came on this episode! You're all great and amazing people!!!
âcan I hug you?â I wasnât ready to cry today
6:22 "can I hug you" these words really touched me. Sheâs sooo kind â€ïž
This was one of, if not, the most positive video out of of such a dark topic. All the survivors are just laughing with eachother. I loved this
ââYou have a giant mass in youââ âAh okay! Great!â Lmaooo this guyyy
Yeah, I was diagnosed when I was 15 and Iâm almost 18 now and every single little thing they said struck true for me in one way or another. Itâs such an absolutely life changing thing and for how terrible it is, so much good has come from it. My life was forever changed the day I was diagnosed, but I never realized how much of an opportunity it gave me to really see myself for what Iâm worth and see my life as a whole for what itâs worth. This episode was special. Thank you.
Dani is so sweet
Iâm so glad no one was annoying in this one
lol that was my biggest worry
I must admitt this video make me feel so many emotions, no matter where you come from or who you know, people related to cancer makes the biggest and purest family ever.
I donât think Iâve ever cried this much in a Jubilee episode, such beautiful people â€ïž Glad they all survived đ„°
The number of people going to find the guy who said Gabby was "damaged goods"

Dani's energy is so loving - she seems like such a special soul. wishing her and every one else healing.
Loved these guys and Suspenders-Guy was so supportive of the one woman when she was feeling vulnerable... freaking heart warming content! â€ïž
As a cancer survivor, this video hit me in a whole new level I didn't know was in me. A lot of questions I don't often think but are always in the back of my head.
Thanks to the people involved in the video for sharing their stories, and to every survivor here in the comments as well.
You all rock!
