[MKWii] Mushroom Gorge Olympics (TWD98)

This is the 10th Mario Kart Wii Olympics video that I have made in a time span of 18 months. I normally do them in 3's where each set has its own style. However, this is a remake of my 3rd Olympics video so it is separate from the sets.

I spent the most time on this one and have wanted to make this video for several months now. Mushroom Gorge and Grumble Volcano (ironically the first two tracks to have ultra shortcut glitches on them) are my two favorite tracks in this game and I wanted to make my best Olympic videos for those two courses. I already made a Mushroom Gorge Olympics with my Dazzle back in January 2011, which was really awful compared to what I can do now so I decided to remake Mushroom Gorge Olympics.
I think this is the best Olympics I've made so far. I pulled off everything that I wanted to pull off. I told myself I wouldn't make the video either till I could get #1 in the way I did it.
This video would have taken much longer to make since I wanted a lot of extremely difficult things in it. But since I've recently acquired MKW on the computer, I was able to use save-states on stunts #8, #5, and #1 to keep retrying them every 5 seconds rather than having to restart the race every time I mess up. This made things much less tedious. But even with that, since the rest are done on the Wii, I'd estimate it took at least 10-12 hours to pull all of those stunts off (I got these stunts over time though, not all at once haha).
For those who want the texture, I got it from Eirik's (xNovak07) texture pack that you can find on his channel. Besides the purple mushrooms, the colors are only slightly different.
** Special thanks to Sword0fSeals for giving me the idea for #4, #6 and recording Skype call for when #3 happened, and to mkwiiphonix who gave me the idea for #1. I was able to get the lap skip with #1 as well making it even more special =D

3 of them are using savestates, which is loosely tas (depends on how you want to define it). I wasn't using the frame by frame thing. I was just playing the game like I normally would but getting to retry every couple of seconds rather than having to restart the race each time.

Man oh man.. by far my favorite olympics video. Yes, this is well over 4 years old, but I enjoy still! I think you could have done something with the grass glitch by the cave entrance, but well done!

I know this is 11 years late, but he didn't have to use infinite mushrooms, only 3! The wall physics are wack in mario kart, so when you trick, a lot of your momentum is translated upwards

The whole video is rip headphone users, it’s insanely loud, had to turn down my volume from full, where full would be the normal listening volume to about half because it hurt to listen to....

#1 is just a much cooler version of that same thing. I'm skipping a lap and using the wall shortcut at the same time.
#1 allows you to lap everyone in seconds, going straight from 12th to 1st. Thank goodness it's so hard to pull off, unlike Grumble Volcano's loop bypass.

The retro tracks are not as glitchy for the most part because most of them have simpler and flatter designs

Wow! Nice Olympic videos, Troy! I remember doing #24 (Shroomless Cut) once, doing #21 (Wizardry) out of desperation twice when I missed the end of the cutdoing #19 (Edge of Glory) countless times (man, it's annoying), and doing #6 (Fence to the Face) once on accident when I went into the grass. Those are only four of the reasons why Mushroomy Gorge is my favorite course of all time.

One time I was playing w/ my brother and I was using bowser in the pirahna prowler and in the cave I drifted left from the right path to the left path's mushrooms, shroomed on the last bounce, and got suck on a random corner of a section of wall in the cave. It was epic.
The seamless wall cut was pretty amazing.

Did you coordinate the music with the video? The violin solo is all too perfect for the slow-motion replay of "I will survive," and the music playing while Funky spins around on the rock in #1 makes it seem like the music was made for the video! It's amazing!!! Keep up the awesome work.

It's amazing what people can find on a game that isn't intentional. Especially when you realize that all of this was possible back when we first got the game in 2008. Mario kart woo sure has come a long way since then.

I had an Olympics/MKPFTW moment on this track. I was trying to do the mushroom shortcut at the beginning and what happened was I missed the 2nd mushroom and flew through the fence on a time trial run

Hey Troy, while attempting to do the ultra, it is possible to get air off of the space in between the wall and the arch signaling the finish line. It is also possible to get stuck, and also possible to fall right through it, like you did with Iceway in RTCT #12.
