- Hey karters! I'm back with a quick video covering an insane record that was beaten today April 27th! (in my timezone lol) In this video I'll be covering the history of Sky Garden, Taiga's backstory and the future of Mario Kart DS world records.
For those wondering about the status of videos on this channel in the future, I have good news. There's a tons of projects I have going on right now and my semester at university is ending soon so I'll have more time to work on videos! I will continue to upload time trials PRs as I obtain them and deem them worthy of main channel release. As for the World Record Recap series, I'm absolutely swamped with world records from earlier this year and it's probably gonna take me awhile to catch up with those so be patient. I may do combined episodes or split them up into track specific episodes since there are sagas of improvement that take place over multiple months.
That being said, I really appreciate all the support on these videos and reading all of your comments makes this all worth it for me. So thank you all for watching my videos and please stay tuned for more from me in the future!

MKDASHER just got his WR back!!
I love the concept of a pre-teen/teen casually slamming out world records (sometimes taking down incredibly long standing former WRs), and not caring enough to upload them. So nonchalant about these insane achievements.
Goes to show just how good he is, and I think his presence will have a very positive impact on the community, since it’ll prove that way more can still be done to lower these times. Great video!
Thanks so much! I will admit it took me a very long time to see this but I agree with what you said. Taiga is such a influential figure in our community yet we know nothing about him! He's really shaken up the meta completely and proven that there is no such thing as an "unbeatable" record.

Great video. It really makes you wonder why he hasn't posted this 3lap...
He usually did post any WR improvements on other tracks, however minor.
I feel like since Taiga is a preteen, he might not want all this praise, maybe that’s why he’s so anonymous
@@EpixClodz He's actually no longer a pre-teen, at around 14-years old or so. But I'd imagine he'd still want to remain relatively private.
I've been following the MKDS time trial scene for quite some time now and I still have memories of the times, when taiga wasn't around yet. All the wrs were really old and i was shocked, when shroom ridge fell, but i've never seen a runner be this consistant at beating old wrs that are almost older that him! It's really a mystery (at least for me) how many records he can claim before his hands and especially thumbs start hurting and stiffening up (like mine). I hope that we will see further activity in the time trials bc it helps to discover new strats and shortcuts. I guess we'll see. (sorry for my bad english)
But i still think it's cool to have a couple of 5+ year old wrs in the game
I totally agree with everything you said. It was a strange time having all those old records and watching them fall. Taiga is a really good player and the way he plays is so mysterious and different from everyone else. Given that he plays on 3DSXL he probably will last longer than all of us in terms of thumb pain but I guess we'll have to wait and see! Thanks for watching!

Taiga is the real deal! It's always kinda funny reading those comments from randoms thinking that their time that's like 35 seconds behind world record is insanely good but Taiga actually has the skills to back it up. He's studied MKDS

can’t believe it was on his 100cc save
It was so weird! He sent us 5 different saves and there wasn't really anything of note on the main NonPRB and PRB ones but just to check we took a look at his 100cc save and there it was! Seems he's not the best at managing his saves though 😅

pro tip, if you're aiming to get a largely outsider audience (which is what you should do with videos about something the circle of players should already know), instead of specific 100ms, say ".1", it's just easier to understand straight away, especially for people who don't speedrun in the first place.
True, it felt a bit awkward in the script but I'll take that suggestion
@@Puddings There's one edge case where it sounds right, and it's when you have to list a bunch of WRs in a row with small timecuts
