Thank you for your video I just got my K ultra.
Thx for watching. It is my favourite hand grinder. Please share with us your thoughts once you start using it. And if you need some tips about cleaning and calibration I have a video here: czcams.com/video/t7eZVOga_kA/video.htmlsi=BuhBFqZT0xg1Jz_m
Very interesting video! As usual great content on your channel. Thanks!
Thx for watching!
I'm waiting for my MC6. Maybe it will arrive in a couple of months?
Your entertaining and educational video leaves me questioning my spending so much when the hand grinder does so well. But, my wife and I don't like sour notes (at all), so there's that! This will be grinding dark roasts exclusively.
Congratulations! You will love it. It was a very specific coffee that simply worked really well with K Ultra. On average MC6 will deliver more depth but maybe a tad less in vibrancy.
woooo 4k!
Yeah. Now let’s get to 5k b4 New Year
Went from MC4 and an E61 HX for a couple years to Ode Gen 2 and pourover for 9 months, and recently added a Decent DE1 Pro and K-Ultra back into the equation. If anything I'd add a MAX SLM into the equation to chase "different", but I wouldn't gain much going from $180 I paid for a used K-Ultra to a high end conical for more than 10x the price. Maybe 10+15% better in cup for 1000-150% the price.
Not a knock against Kafatek, i really enjoyed mine, and no doubt I'd gain higher level of repeatably with the Kafatek though and it's insane tolerances and level of consistency.
Thsnk you for sharing your experience. I do agree with everything you said but for us, coffee geeks, it is always that extra few % that we are chasing.
@@mycoffeeshow111it's true. About how many kilos do you think you had through each grinder before the test?
@@JusBThankful not sure. I was one of the first who got MC5 last year and have been using it since and I drink a lot of coffee 😛With K Ultra I actually did some hard labour and seasoned it at first with 1kg and have been using it for when I travel so I would say 4kg.
@@mycoffeeshow111 hard labor indeed 😆
Amazing content as usual!!! Its your fellow anti-DF grinder friend here and I want to highlight the K-ultra. Its been a seriously joyful hlexperience. Coming from the k-plus that i sold to upgrade to the k-ultra, im loving the magnetic cup and more curved edge design.
I think what makes the k-ultra (best in class) handgrinder is the 20micron setting, aggressive burrs, and ease of hand cranking. For light to medium light roasts there seems to be very even particular distribution resulting in high clarity for those fruity notes.
Going against any electric grinder the k ultra probably delivers less fines , so it can't give you a more complex flavor profile like the Kafatec. For less than 1/15th the price, our Taiwanese friend have engineered quite a stellar product. I really do hope 1zpresso has something going on in the works for their own electric grinder.
Maybe 1zpresso will take a page out of Timemores book and make something, knowing how successful the Sculptor has become.
Thank you very much. Even though at first I was very sceptical, I have to admit that K Ultra is overall the best hand grinder I had. C40 might be better sometimes but it takes forever to grind. Kinu works wonderfully for espresso but don’t perform for pour overs and adjustments are a bit awkward.
We will see soon how it performs against Comandante C60.
@@Jay37_tech not sure about J Ultra, but I had J Max. Nice, thick and smooth shots of espresso and very poor pour over performance. What I didn’t like was that you need lots of strength to use it. But it only takes 35sec to grind for average espresso.
@@Jay37_tech j grinders are perfect for espresso but not great for pour overs. They are fast but often you need some strength to use it. I only had J Max
@@Jay37_tech it is definitely worth considering.
After many years with electric grinders, I am using only my kingrinder K4
Now,I am preparing myself to buy my next....hand grinder, maybe k plus or kingrinder K6
Maybe I should try Kingrinder at some point as well?
@@mycoffeeshow111 Oh yes my friend, you should try and tell us you opinion
Especially cause they are very cheap but well constructed
K4 for espresso and K6 all rounder
@@wakeawaken430 cheap but well constructed- like if you described myself 😛
@@mycoffeeshow111 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The opposite was my ex wife
Nice vid. Always thought the differences to the high end were minimal. You feel it’s the same between c40 & k-ultra or you feel the k-ultra is just on another level?
Thx for watching. I actually think that C40 would be better for pour overs and Kinu for espresso but overall K Ultra would be my choice.
If it’s within your budget or interest would be interesting to compare something like k-ultra and df64 to varia vs3 gen 2 with ultra hypernova burr. Regards
@@nittygritty7434 Hi, interested definitely. Should I buy another grinder- well I am not so sure. Next video will be DF64 gen 2 vs Timemore 064s.

Bro pls help me out
This is my first time using hand grinder and brewer so my knowledge is 0
All i need is what number i should use to grind for clever or v60
My grinder is 1zpresso k ultra
Hi, sure, all depends on coffee and recipe obviously but start with 5 or 6 and it should work. Then adjust accordingly to your preference
