Smallville introduced me to the JSA. I knew about some of the members, but the group's name never fell on my ears until then. I like Dr. Fate, I remember seeing him with Hawkman and Hawkgirl on Saturday mornings in the 80s.
I’ve loved the JSA more than the JLA since I was young in the ‘70s and would read the reprints from the golden age. More Green Lantern and Solomon Grundy!
I get how you feel, the JSA in Stargirl is my favorite live action adaptation of them so far, but that version is still far from perfect. I wish we get to see a movie/show in the future where the JSA is the main focus and not just another part of the story.
@@SantiBarriosI was particularly disappointed by Beth being able to see, the jsa resorting to killing eclipso’s host, screwing with brainwaves personality, pretending infinity inc didn’t happen, and borrowing a lot from starman.(without showing jack, Ted, or David) I will however admit I love the costume designs, the family is likable, the way the kids beat eclipso put a smile on my face, and of course FINALLY seeing Johnny thunder green and pink suit and all talking about what it’s like to be him in a society of legends. Johnny is a favorite of mine for a reason.
This is just me being totally logical and without emotion but I believe both the time of the JLA and the JSA is gone! Both should adopt what the early 2000's anime did and just go with Justice League or Justice Society. Today, any group which loudly and belligerently screams that it puts America first and foremost before anyone else would probably be forbidden entry into many country's around the world as they state they cannot trust them. Criminals would flee to these country's knowing if they JSA pursues them it will create an international incident. What worked in the 1960s no longer works so they need to drop the (of America) part. Its time is over.
That's totally a fair point, I personally think that both the Justice League and the Justice Society can still coexist, but it's definitely a good idea to drop the "of America" part of the name if they wanna market them to a global audience, that's most likely why they were just called "the Justice Society" in Black Adam

I loved Dr Fate's costume in the Smallville episodes, it looked awesome and it translated well the look from the comics imo

The JSA are really Awesome and due to their recent Debut in Black Adam,We could see them get their own movie in the DCU.
Absolutely! James Gunn even casted Mr Terrific recently who's a JSA member, so everything's possible at this point

I love the jsa but their live action appearances tend to leave me underwhelmed.
