very informative video! would you have any advice for pricing a punch needled rug? the rugs i make arent as large as your mtv rug, maybe around 1/4 of the size, however it is more labor than using a tufting gun

Ty for your help. I'm ordering my cut pile here soon. I've seen a lot of the higher quality content creators. Just makes me worried the market is going to become over saturated or I can't compete.
But the first time I saw rug tufting and in my soul I knew it was a skill I wanted to learn. So hopefully my love for it and believing in myself will get me where I need to be
I love that! It’s an amazing way to look at anything. I think about it like this, every single niche has tons of competition. BUT if you make it your mission to be the new competitor then you will get traction no matter what. Make sure you have something new to offer but still stick to your goals. You will do amazing things!

I'd love to do this but I am concerned about copyright laws. I see a lot of creators selling disney, pokemon, Barbie etc rugs/merch. Surely they haven't all had permission to do this.
Though I have not seen anyone get in trouble, there are many other ways to go about it. This video gives more ideas as to how to make/find copyright free work. Think of it like any other art medium. Hope this helps!

O reallly appreciate your advices and tips. I'm new in tufting, I think I"ll make mabe two more rugs for practice (4 in total) and try to sell. What do you think about cartoons and rights to use the cartoon characters?

What about Copyright Issues, do you have to get permission to sell copyrighted products?
Yo bro do you know how to resize the design to either make bigger or smaller for projector?
Make it smaller or bigger using the laptop. First make sure your screen is lined up equally with the fabric. If you fullscreen the picture on your laptop then you can’t move it around or change size. But if you leave it as a smaller window then you can move it to wherever you want on your laptop. So it moves on the fabric

I forgot the name of the song but it’s from the artist SX. I honestly think I still have some room for improvement with tufting but I’m definitely getting better 😂 I appreciate the kind words lmao! Starting is pretty easy you just need all the tools. Once you start it’s easy to get a feel for it

I think around 3 and a half months. Closer to 4 though. I’d like to get to S class level so ill post my journey to see progress
Bro at $50 per sq ft for a 6x6 rug is $1800 😮
I'm so confused, 3' x 4' rug is 12sqft. At $55 per sqft, that would make your mtv rug $660
yes at the time that was the recommended pricing for rugs, which was given to me by a fellow tufter. But as inflation goes up less people are able to pay those prices. My current prices on my old rugs are also far less (because they are old, not up to my current standards, and made on my own free time). My commissions on the other hand are based on these prices listed in the video. As time goes on I'm sure things will change. Eventually ill make an updated version of this video

This is just advice given to me and what I’ve experienced. Though I will say prices have changed to more realistic prices since the economy is trash lol. It also depends on the quality and appreciation of your art 😁
a friend sold a 5x4 for $900 I believe so whatever the calculates to is what some people have been recently working off of

Yes, raise your price because hot glue guns are $200 a stick and spray adhesive it $600 a case. So my 2ft by 2ft is $360. Supplies cost $22. Know what you cant sell things for.
