    Buying a studio that was built around creating a new IP, in order to do content, is a dubious move, people aren't resources. Blizzard didn't buy a 100 people, they bought a team of creatives who are used to work together in a particular way and now they will need to work the ABK way with most likely little creative input.

    I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching CZcams. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

      A lot of people, especially nowadays, prefer the min/maxing part, and WoW players are especially keen to that since it has been the case for so long. Also, not having great endgame but good leveling make people stop playing soon after hitting max lvl.
      They "just" have to do both to have a great and engaging game. Though the game is 18 years old, and a lot if not most players already did every leveling in every possible way. It's been a really long time since leveling is not about optimizing the sh*t out of it

    • @velukuzusama4224
      @velukuzusama4224 Před 2 lety

      @@hardeg4 WoW is now standard, and as it has been said for a while now, if you get out of bounds with an MMO, you won't get investment. That's probably why so much MMOs are like that.
      I'm part of the min/max community (in every game, my favorite games are idle/clickers where you're constantly min/maxing and have that feeling of getting stronger each rebirth or whatever), but I get your point. You want the RPG part of an MMORPG and that's totally understandable. I hope Blizzard do something, but I honestly wouldn't count on it since they're focused on next expansion and that one is forcibly end game content.
      I would also say "leveling through the xpac" is for most people a tidieous process, but if it was fun and not just a way to get through to there actual content, I'd be totally fine with it and would enjoy it, because WoW could've done a great storytelling if they actually cared about it.

    I used to raid a lot. It's so boring and predictable now, even though I'm in the target population of "raider" even I'm over it. I'd love to see some new ideas around raids that don't involve zoning into a giant map with trash and bosses that award loot. The world is vast and yet a majority of the focus is on such a small part of that world. I'm okay with having a raid focus, but maybe include open world, achievements, pvp, etc to incorporate a larger, more diverse group of players to clear content. I'd love to see a raid guild that has people on the roster that are good at different parts of the game, not just copying macros and importing weakauras. If I was given a list of 25 things to conquer that required different groups that could asynchronously work toward a common goal, I could find people to join - hardcore traditional raiders, pet battle nerds, collectors, bank toon hoarders, sweaty arena teams, etc. Think of a raid like a D&D campaign. You could tell so many stories and cover so much of the world. Whatever it looks like in the future, it just needs to change because it's tired and old. We need something more.

    You think gaming magazines survive by having its readers pay for the content? No - they survive by selling advertising. Doesn't matter if it's in print or online.
    Gaming magazines have NEVER been able to deliver actually independent reviews of games, because the biggest publishers have ALWAYS been able to threaten to withhold advertising dollars.
    The only games that ever gets shat upon in gaming magazines are games from small independent developers or from tiny publishers, because those don't have the ability to withhold enough advertising revenue that it could shutter a magazine.
    They have ALWAYS been PR outlets for the big developers and publishers.

    Honestly, they should just upgrade raid every patch. For example u get raid finder first month, but the trick is that you only get a part of that raids story. When the next patch comes more bosses added to the raid and more of that raids story is shown. Imagine the final raid of battle for azeroth in that hiangantic city with parts of it opening up as time passed. That would have been so much better

    • @samuelpersaud3044
      @samuelpersaud3044 Před 2 lety

      I also think they should kind of steal from their diablo game. Every class has all these specializations mixed in. For example u can choose your filler spells and other spells moving forward. Like you can make your filler spell incinerate and then choose corruption or something as your next spell. The biggest issue of the game is having 2-4 specs for each class. Just make it 1 spec and you choose how you want to build your character.

      There are bis gear outside of raid. Just from m+ vault

    • @Webberjo
      @Webberjo Před 2 lety

      Relic weapons don't become BiS until the end of the expansion, so they're not a viable alternative for people looking to do current raid content. And even then, sometimes relic weapons are equal to or worse than the final raid tier's weapon.

      @@benjaminghazi787 Not until late in the expansion when everyone is doing +20 or higher. Early on and mid xpac its not viable to run those without mythic raid gear or heroic to start farming mythic+ As you get later and later in you have more mythic+

    The best thing about the bald thing is that when he leans in to press the big button you can see he has actually the same hairline underneath that hat.
    Also the problem with keeping old systems like the mage tower relevant is that people wouldn't play it unless there where substantial rewards and the raid crowd can't have that.

  • @TheWideMurloc
    @TheWideMurloc Před 2 lety

    To expand on that idea of rotating patch content, they could add a scaled to max level difficulty for all old content and every non-raid patch, raise the ilvl requirement and drops for those old dungeons and raids to match the tier of the current content. That would be huge for raiders and casuals alike

    I played this game as F2P (i bought a skin.. so..) and this whole "lvl cap at 30" is a myth... not once... NOT ONCE i had to level for the main quest... i just played and did the side missions... and some battlepass stuff (not all of it)... i did notice, that doing battlepass was fast way to level up, but i never hit the "you must level" thing..
    The game was... Mehhhh... i think i stopped playing at paragon 7'sh (that's 60+7 for nongamers)... because the game was mehhhh... i booted up my nintendo switch emulator, loaded my safe file from "Pokemon - Pikachu let's go" and i was way happier

    I'm telling you guys 6 months for a software dev to learn a new programming language, Game engine, technology etc. is really not much, even for the best. What takes even longer is after that to get an overview of a company's code base, network infrastructure and so on and so forth. I am a software dev myself and I doubt these new devs will even participate developing code for the new expansion. We can be happy if they will have finished reading the existing code by then, not even kidding.
