i feel seen by chris and rachel bc i HEAVILY notice the aftertaste of sucralose, every other artificial sweetener, and even stevia. i believe it’s a gene mutation like how some people hate cilantro, but to actually see someone review something and acknowledge it is really nice. most people just assume everyone can tolerate the taste and pretend it’s comparable to real sugar
I agree. I can't deal with artificial sweeteners and it's so hard to find any kind of drink/water enhancer that isn't artificially sweetened.
Is that why I hate almost all artificial sweeteners?? I get a chemical aftertaste that disgusts me. I can stand aspartame only in diet coke because my mom kept it in the house when we were young.
omg this is me. the best way i can describe it is that it leaves a weird aftertaste that just makes me more thirsty. i can't drink flavoured carbonated water and diet sodas because of it.
Yup, all the sugar alternatives have a horrible aftertaste to me!
Stevia is the absolute worst one I reckon. Such a specific taste it overpowers everything
Rach thought you would like to know that if you keep basil out on the counter in a glass of water it will last 3-4 times longer than in the fridge. Just change the water weekly and you can have your basil last a month!!
You don't actually need to refrigerate basil when you put it in water. You can leave it in the counter. The stems will grow roots in the water. Just change the water every couple of days

@@rebel1612yep! You can grow your own basil from cuttings. I'd recommend let the roots get a few inches long before planting.
20 secs for hand washing is the normal recommended time. Same time they mentioned during covid and same time Apple Watches count down to when you wash your hands. 😊👌🏻
I'm a full-grown adult, and the only reason I brush my teeth the proper amount of time is that I have an electric toothbrush that alerts me when 2 minutes are up lol. I think the timer is a great idea.

A nurse told me to use 2 rounds of "Henry the Eighth" as the correct time for hhand washing. Twenty seconds *is* adequate, though 30 is preferable.

Rachel is on point with the Simple Modern cups!! Way better than Stanley, Yeti, or any other brands that I’ve tried. I run a horse rescue in southwest Louisiana and it’s HOT! My Simple Modern 1/2 gallon water bottle is a lifesaver.
I work at sodastream in Europe and i can say that this co2 cylinders are the same :) sodastream cylinders have different types of valves i saw many different ones.
I have the Thirsti and I am using my remaining soda stream canisters in it. It works perfectly fine!

You should try the Sparkel drink carbonator! I love mine! It uses powdered activators instead of CO2 tanks and you can carbonate basically any liquid except milk...so carbonated water, juice, cocktails...the world is your oyster
I would love to see the Sparkel tried as well.
Memory-wise it can be easier to remember where something is when you don't see it as often. Since you see your phone multiple times throughout the day you can remember seeing it several different places so it's harder to recall which is the most recent one.
I always say "if something has a home then even if I don't remember what I did with it, I do remember it's home" so this makes so much sense to me. Thanks. 🙂
The hand washing timer should be able to be activated by motion. Would make it more hygienic like you pointed out as an issue. I wonder if there’s one that exists??
I bought one of those water bottles (in teal) because of you; I absolutely love it! I use it everyday and I am so grateful for your dedication to testing them so I didn't waste my money my one that doesn't work as well. I live in Texas and having cold water in the car after grocery shopping in 100 degree+ weather makes it almost tolerable.
Thier is this awesome thing called a hat form, you put your hat in it. And throw it on the top rack in the dish washer. Then lay out still on the form to dry. Perfectly clean hats, and no disfigurement. Amazing product.
Whenever I buy fresh herbs (mostly parsley or dill, but basil works too) I wash them and stick almost immediately into the freezer (in a zip lock bag for instance) and later I chop from frozen just the amount I need. 100% recommend.

I didn't think you were suppose to put Basil in refrigeration at all. When you buy it in a grocery store, at least where I live, it's always stored at room temperature with the tomatoes, and all the other herbs are in refrigeration. Working in food service, I use to put it in refrigeration but it'd go brown/black so fast that I stopped and it kept longer. I'd be curious on the herb experiment with other herbs though.

I grow basil for my flower farm and for culinary purposes. Basil HATES the cold. When the frost hits the basil patch, it all dies almost overnight. Do not refrigerate if you want to keep it for any length of time. Keep it on the counter.

For those with soda streams or similar devices, check out local businesses that refil fire extinguishers to get your co2 canister filled. Typically, they are called "xyz fire suppression." Im my area they charge 10 bucks to refil, as opposed to 24 to exchange or 40 to buy new.

I swapped the plastic SM straw out for a extra long glass curved one I got in a pack on Amazon and now that water bottle is simply unstoppable.
I use the big glass herb container without the lid and inside thing for spring onions, with a plastic bag over the top. Change the water regularly and they stay fresh for a few weeks

Love my Thirsti! I usually mix a Splash with one of the sweetened options. Balances the flavors. Good to know about the canisters. I believe I have a full one left over from my SodaStream (which I am now donating to Goodwill).
Love the video! I’m a health expert that teaches kiddos about health and safety. Love the timer! Definitely going to be adding it to my list. And yes 20 seconds to wash your hands is what is recommended. ☺️(also make sure they scrub and create a lather on both sides of the hands and in between the fingers)

28:24 I’m so happy with my Apple Watch, cause every time I lose my phone I can use my watch to find it. Just sound or with my flashlights flashing as well when I can’t locate it just with sound. It’s been a lifesaver for me lol 😝
Absolutely love basil, wanna roll in it like a dog!!!! The paper towel trick works fine or it grows fine indoors too so just bring it in!
The glass jar trick works best for asparagus, cut the bottom ends and put in a cup with a little water at the bottom, lasts weeks in the fridge

Vineyard vines sells baseball hats made from a performance quick dry fabric that my husband loves! He’s swam in them many times, in lakes even, and you can’t even tell. They wash off so easy!
Didnt expect to cry watching this. My dad died a couple of years ago and he was a hat man. Never left tbe house without one. I picked out one of the dirtiest hats of his to keep. It even has a few of his little hairs inside too. 🥺 my dad was a blue collar worker tho his dirty hats were like grime and grease kinda dirty lol. Christophers arent too bad 🥰
If you set your herbs in a glass with a little bit of water on the counter or windowsill and change the water every couple of days, as if you were propagating them. They last way longer. I’ve done it with my basil and it’s lasted weeks, like a month.
Chris talking about the Blue Jays hat reminded me of my Grampa, always wearing his foam front Blue Jays hat lol. My grandparents ran the elevators at the skydome after they retired, they were super proud of the Jays lol.
I may have to get that hat for my hubby though - he works in a warehouse and sweats horribly, but he wears a ball cap all day. He's got some nice underarmor ones, but they get so dirty and stinky lol

Everyone does basil wrong. Get a basil plant from the store. Divide the plant into small sections of roots, re plant into small pots. Water everyday. Basil loves soil and water. We've had ours for 2 months and they're going strong. As soon as you see a brown leaf, pull it off and water again. They thrive on water. Keep the basil near a window too

Just cut your basil and put it in a glass of water and a window or on the counter under a light and it will grow roots. Then you can just cut the leaves off as you want them
