Drew Bledsoe's first game as a bill.
Against the team that forever changed his career, after his injury in 2001.
He was fun he brought excitement to this organization
He only made one Pro Bowl and had three 1000-yard seasons in his career but Henry was a SOLID RB. Loved the toughness he ran with.

I never understood why cbs swapped Gumbel and Nantz in 2004. Jim Nantz shouldn't be doing play by play for football. Gumbel was far superior.

The first NFL game I went to. 11 years old wearing a Curtis Martin jersey, smack dab at the 50 yard line. Jumping up and down during that OT kickoff, bottom of my soda cup gave out and I spilt Coke all over myself lol. Thanks for this

My brother’s first NFL game he watched was this game and my first was the Jets Vs Bills week 1 2023 season
In both, the Jets were winning in the 4th quarter and the Bills tied it up in last minute of the 4th quarter. The Jets win in overtime slightly differently (in 2002, the Jets one after a kickoff return touch down whereas the Jets won in 2023 after the Bills did a punt and the Jets did a punt return touch down)

This is the first NFL game i ever watched. I`ve never seen highlights of it until today 21 years later today. I believe this is still the only walk-off td on the opening kick of ot that i have ever seen. What a way to be introduced to the NFL.
And it ended up ending in a similar way this game.
Lions first overtime on thanksgiving ended with Chicago running the kickoff back. I think it was 1980.

'02 Jets was on my all time favorite teams. All that adversity they went through and still won the AFC East and a playoff game and played tough until the season ended. Jets still hasn't won the AFC EAST since this team took on the field.
They were one good half of football away from playing in the AFC title game at Tennessee. Would have been a great game. But they fell apart in the second half against the Raiders.

@@angelenriqu1 Yup because 2008 was the last time the Dolphins won the division and then you got the Bills who won it the last few years but before that they didn’t win it at all during the Brady/Belichick era. And they only made the playoffs twice.

That Jets Offense was good
bledsoe was still a very good quarterback. I believe patriots moving on from him did some damage to his psyche as the reason for it made perfect sense. Wentz and Bledsoe were never the same again.
Ironically, Bledsoe threw for more yards than Brady in 2002, and with only one more INT. And their pass attempts were similar. He did get sacked a lot, though. And Brady threw four more TDs. But still. I think most football fans think Drew never did anything again after getting hit by Mo Lewis.
