One of the most wild forgotten games of all time. Moss one handed catches, big plays on both sides, a doink kick to send it to OT, high scoring matchup, and a big game winning TD pass.
The 2002 Buffalo Bills had simultaneously one of the best offenses but also one of the worst defenses and special teams in the NFL, so a lot of their early season matchups came down to whoever could outscore the other.
Prime Gus johnson going crazy in the booth 💀
Eric Moulds is so underrated as a WR
He was one of the best for sure. He slowed down a bit after his injury in 2003 but was still really good.
Bro, Bledsoe throw for nearly 500 with 0 int and 3 TD... Just amazing game for him
we need Gus Johnson back in the booth on Sundays 💯 his commentary hits different.. i was so into this game 😂
This announcer have so much enthusiasm and I loved it
Today was an epic game between these teams. 11-13-22.
Dante Culpepper tied for the most fumbles in an NFL season that year with 23
Nice pick! It’s so rare to find clips from this game in high quality! Also, gotta love young Gus Johnson!
Wow this really was an offense vs offense game! They were just trading score for score! What an amazing game to watch!
And this bills corner tandem was underrated
@@blakelip3Prioleau was a safety. The corners were Clements and Antoine Winfield
Great to see this one spotlighted. The second half was one of the best halves of football any fan could hope to see :D
I remember I was attending the incubus concert at darien lake here in buffalo Which is also an amusement Park I kept running back to the car to get Score updates, it was Is pouring rain nonstop All day. The bills One, the game, an incubus one of the most, amazing concert.
You can even here how young Gus sounded
The current Bills' uniforms are an improvement. This season had its highs and lows.
Just the week before this game the Bills were in OT against the Jets and all it took was 14 seconds for them to lose that game. This week it was redemption and got a couple of breaks in the process.
I remember that game. I think Bledsoe hit Moulds I believe as time expired to tie the game then allowed a kickoff return TD to lose. Typical Bills ending lol.
2 franchises combined with 8 super bowl losses!
@@1990Thunderbolt it's huge game this weekend and auburn is probably getting deion and Jimbo Fisher might get fired if he loses
@@packersauburneric3625 but how's the college football is related to any means of the bills and vikings????
Man I really thought Bedsoe was gonna bring the bills back to prominence when he left NE. They had the pieces offensively with Travis Henry, Pierless Price and Eric Molds. Anyway, remember how entertaining this game was. I love these Throwbacks because it causes you to remember some of the stars we may have forgotten over the years. Daunte Cullpepper was TREMENDOUS back in his Viking days.
One of the Most Exciting and Entertaining FootBall Games of the 2002 NFL Season
Sundays game will eventually be on here
Drew Bledsoe was looking for his first win with the Bills having fallen in overtime to the Jets 37-31 and also his first win as a starter since December 2000.........at Buffalo
Drew Bledsoe was darting lasers out there, ain't gonna lie.
Kind of a weird game in that there were a ton of points, but also the offenses struggled to execute, both teams' defenses made a bunch of RZ stops to hold the opposition to 3 points instead of 7, the kickers missed several kicks, and there were 7 fumbles.
Probably the signature game for Bledsoe in Buffalo. I have this game in my personal collection but haven't watched and cataloged it yet. At the rate i'm going it's going to be a good 4-6 months before that happens LOL
Wow, what a game, that was awesome!!!!!!!
LOL UNBELIEVABLE GAME BY THOSE TWO TEAMS. AND WHAT I LOVE ABOUT IT IS GUS JOHNSON CALLING THIS GAME LIKE CRAZY AND LOUD 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My god that Vikings secondary was complete Swiss cheese
The defense except one year wonder Chris Hovan was who was a wannabe John randle
They literally got torched by Bledsoe. In OT they were so worn out they gave up lol
How About Jaguars Ravens Week 2 2000? The Final score was 39-36, it was very entertaining from what I've read and heard
I even hate to see my team lose in old games but man what a game it was. I can't wait for this sunday to see these two go at it again. SKOL VIKINGS!!! 💪🏼😈
We are fucked if Josh can't go but good luck to you let's hope we both stay healthy it's a long season yet
@@menom612 you are 1 of 2 things. A packers fan or someone who has not watched or followed a single vikings game this season.
This years interconference games and every four years starting in 2002 have always proven to be my favorite
2 insane punt returns back to back? What a fucking game!
Gus Johnson is lit!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good memories watching this as a kid and 2 franchises yet to win a super bowl !
Meanwhile, in 2022...
Daunte culpepper was so op before the knee injury.
@@packersauburneric3625 he was much better than brad johnson. In 2004 daunte threw 39 tds. Brad Johnson never threw more than 26 in his entire 15 year career. Then in 2005 he tore his acl mcl and pcl and his career was basically over
@@briancromartie3149 Brad had one of the greatest defenses of all-time as well.
I liken him to Carson Wentz. Great few years but ultimately very turnover and injury prone
Me seeing NFL Throwback show the Vikings line up for an extra point for the SECOND TIME in this video: “No way…”
Since the 1998 missed kick by Anderson, the Vikings have been cursed with kickers.
4:22 hahaha even as a Patriots FANATIC who grew up in Boston and started watching the Pats every week starting Bledsoe’s rookie season, I never ever would’ve imagined that Bledsoe would’ve lost his job to the man who became THE GREATEST QB IN NFL HISTORY!! I just thought Gus’s take here is funny looking at it now!! I knew Brady was special, NO ONE KNEW JUST HOW SPECIAL!!
Vikings must have liked what they saw out of Winfield and Big Pat because they became cornerstones of their defense a few years later.
I sure miss watching Drew sling it
Reminded me a bit of the Chiefs Bills playoff game last year.
I looked it up and the Vikings are actually middle of the pack in terms of all time FG and XP kicking %. Sure doesn't feel that way, though.
Epic Gus Johnson game.
2007 nfc championship game giants vs packers
I feel like this game should've happened in 2003 because the NFL should've redid the interconference rotation like this:

I used to love theose bills jerseys for some reason
What a classic game and the NFL needs to bring Gus Johnson back to call games his voice his epic
What a game
When Bledsoe had time to sling, BOY could he SLING
How was that first TD? That was insane!
how often when the extra point was at the 2 yard line you saw a kicker miss twice? and i would love to see nfl throwback post a vid of teams whose 1st 2 games went into ot bc the 2002 bills had that happen
20 years ago
DaunTe "ButterFingers" 😁
Is the best history game
then they did it again today but this time the purple and yellow came out on top! #SKOL
@4:22 Joe Montana is the Best of All Time but what about Bart Starr
The Buffalo Bills should make a rap. Song called forgot moulds and then immediately put him on the bills wall of fame
My favorite team of all time losing.... we just needed one of those field goals
Aaron Shoebel was out there, great game for him
Cus Johnson is a legends till today
Gus Johnson is the best commentator of all time. I will not elaborate.
Bills should've made the playoffs that year, so much talent.
Their offense was great.
Problem was their defense and special teams.
Yeah but people forget that the Bills only had 3 wins the year before. Adding Bledsoe got them 5 extra wins but in reality they weren't a good team overall.
Love gus johnson!
When Gus Johnson call these games I'm watching it 🤣
That one td catch by 85 when he was wide open was a drop
Doug Brien, the guy who would cost the Jets the 04 season, missed 2 XP in this game…
When Bledose starting struggling in this game I'll never understand why they didn't put Brady in???
how was that a catch on that vikings TD at the end of the 3rd quarter 😂😂
Every time they turn to Mike Tice it's looks as if he's dying inside and is foreshadowing how the game will end even when Minnesota is winning 😅
Drew Bledsoe was in Buffalo for three seasons. He had all that talent on offense and I believe they were top five in total defense in two of those three seasons, and yet no playoff appearances. he really was past his prime by that point.
His first year there was offensive talent. After that they lost Peerless Price , Larry Centers , Jay Remiersma which was like 150 catches lost in one off season. And Moulds battled a bad leg injury in 2003 so there wasnt much left.
@@Slylok226, the closest the Buffalo Bills came to making the playoffs during the Drew Bledsoe era was 2004. All they needed was a Week 17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were resting their starters that game. Pittsburgh’s second stringers wound up defeating Buffalo’s first stringers and the New York Jets got into the playoffs instead of the Bills. Bledsoe reunited with Bill Parcells that off-season in Dallas, where he spent the latter two seasons of his career, getting benched in favor of Tony Romo in the second.
@@matthewalexanderlemma8000 They traded offense for defense. They literally had no receiving weapons after 2002. His first year in Dallas was actually pretty good and set Dallas records throwing to Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson... Not exactly premium guys. His second year was TOs first year there and they never had chemistry. By that point he was over a decade in the league and in his mid 30s.
4:23 “if you don’t think Joe montana was the best of all time you don’t know football.” Little did Gus know the absolute legends that were about to be drafted in within the next 3 years

Lol I remember this game.
Peerless Price...that's a name I haven't heard in awhile.
22:25 "... against MinneSOTA!!!"

Nice of Randy Moss do give that fan a ball.❤️🌈🙏🏼
Nate Clements and Antoine Winfield a underrated duo while it lasted and both became highest paid corners in league when they signed their deals fun fact
What I remember most about this game is thinking the Bills finally found their next Jim Kelly
Let’s make it to the super bowl this year GO VIKINGS
That kicker had to get cut afre this game sheeesh
💥💥 Minnesota was talking major L's in overtime ganes in 2002 vs bills and falcons at home
And what's up with Doug Brien? Dude missed a FG and two EP like come on.

Man those Bills uniforms were the worst in their history. The uniforms now are fantastic. So are the throwbacks.
The fact there are Bills fans nostalgic for those things baffles me.
@@dillonpanarello5242 really?! There are people who actually like those unis?! To each his own but those uniforms say on thing: all over the place.

WTH Doug Brien was smoking on that day..?😂
The video ads are TOO MUCH
Thank god Gus Johnson was on the call for this one
Those Bills uniforms were awful - never understood why they made that switch. Glad they switched back to their great-looking traditional uni's with the white helmet 11 years ago.
The Two NFL Franchises to go to Four Superbowls and lose all of them the Bills are the Only team to go to Four Straight and lose every single one
Bledsoe was so mid it was weird.
That Has To Be The Worse Kicker In History
4:22 Oh my, that statement has aged poorly…
Man those Bills Uni's were ugly. Wonder how many Buffalo fans got eyesores watching them
Those uniforms were like the new Coke of the 21st century. They FINALLY got rid of them in 2011. Please, NEVER change the uniform design again.
Nfl throwback reach out to me I'm also Eric Packers
"if you don' think Joe Montana was the greatest of all time, you don't know football."
Montana wasn't even the best quarterback on his own team.
Drew Bledsoe was in his 1st year as the Bills quarterback, but what made this classic worth watching is Gus Johnson was there for the call
“HOLLIS IS LIVING RIGHT!”
You
Also, I think that’s Todd chistiansen doing color commentary , he calls several plays before they happen and gets them exactly right
Gus Johnson is a national treasure.
