Bravo, wonderful. I could make out when Domingo informed the interviewer that Del Monaco sang Otello for the first time at age 34, too, so no, he's not singing it too early. The Italian press was notorious (and still is) for asking "questions" designed to provoke and sensationalize, to move papers faster. Some things never change. lol Mil gracias amiga, como siempre.

I remember very well that edition of Otello at La Scala. I was 17, that was the precise moment when I fell in love with Opera. After 48 years, I still thank Capuccilli, Freni, Domingo and Kleiber for making me fond of Opera. A precious gift for my life. Recuerdo muy bien aquella edición de Otello en La Scala. Tenía 17 años, ese fue el preciso momento en el que me enamoré de la Ópera. Después de 48 años, todavía agradezco a Capuccilli, Freni, Domingo y Kleiber por hacerme aficionar a la Ópera. Un regalo precioso para mi vida.

Quel légendaire trio pour ce non moins légendaire Otello, distribution de rêve, tous au sommet absolu de leur art, le tout sublimé par le divin Carlos Kleiber en état de grâce comme toujours, malgré d'autres grandes versions, celle-ci est je pense la plus réussie avec le plus unique d'être enregistrée en public se qui donne une atmosphère électrique et démoniaque pour cet opéra particulièrement que les autres n'ont pas.
Et surtout merci Verdi pour un tel chef d'œuvre
