What a pleasure to meet Maddalena Bonifaccio with Piero Cappuccilli. I remember Rigoletto in February 1969 at the Theatre de la Fenice in Venice, with Cappuccilli, Bonifaccio, Arragal, Vinco... I was very, very young, but I remember being impressed by Cappuccilli, and bewitched by Bonifaccio... I was desperately looking for a trace of Bonifaccio, without finding anything on the internet... Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the joy of meeting these wonderful performers
Bonifaccio was the real surprise here. What an absolutely beautiful voice besides being a real beauty. More information about her would be most appreciative. I cannot find out anything about her life; just a precious few recordings. It's like she disappeared!
You must be joking! Either that or you are completely deaf and don't know anything about voice, legato, rubato, expression and heart. The Suor Angelica version that this unknown soprano does is one of the worse things I have ever heard in my life. Jesus Christ, the tempo is awful and that woman is as cold as ice. Did she have a heart? She had no idea about phrasing, expression and rubato. It was just like hearing a computer music program or AI, unbelievably metronomical. Just awful! I understand why she is unknown.
