“Humans like the taste of PAIN” oh god that killed me😂.
Having messed up my lungs in a scuba accident, I really felt this story. Some of my friends are like Krill, freaking out as they listen to my stories, but they are just surviving. I agree with the captain, you have to risk to truly live.
I ride a motorcycle so I can not agree with the captain more. 😁
I nearly drowned 3 times, I don't really like swimming very much as a result, I'm also pretty bad at it, and quite frankly it scares me too, but SCUBA diving, now THAT I could do all day long! It's amazing, and yeah, it's probably a lot more dangerous than the swimming I'm scared of doing... But it doesn't scare me, I just know to be careful!
May I ask how you messed up your longs ? Co2 in your longs or diving too deep
@johndavis8626 I had a regulator fail 110 feet down with a heavy current above. With everything going on, I forgot to exhale on the ascent to the first hold point and ruptured my left two lobes of my lungs. Mostly my fault, being distracted by buddy breathing and hanging onto the ascent rope to combat the hellish current. I didn't even realize how bad it was until I was on our dive boat and started coughing blood. Two week diving trip in Hawaii over in the first 10 minutes of my first dive of that trip.
I have panic attacks from my imagination while in the water, while my logical brain says "there is a 95% certainty that the closest fish is LITERALLY a barnacle... why do we keep panicking for no reason"
So with the captain's final words of this episode... that is how my logical half tells my imaginative half and the entire reason why I'm going to get myself certified for diving and MAKE my fear go away

When humans get hurt doing something stupid, other human's don't show concern or worry.. THEY LAUGH! They laugh at the result of ones downfall! Well as long as the one hurt can walk away from it with a few bumps and bruises.

I have friend who is certified surface supplied salvage diver, Krill would have heart attack if he watched some of the stuff he does under water like arc welding

This is such a fun series. Krill's Descent into Madness and the Humans that enjoy the ride. I have to wonder: has Krill experienced the Sleep-Talker or the Sleep-Eater on their crew? That would be hilarious to see his science notes on that insanity that is Human Uncommon.

Someone needs to do some research, breathing Oxygen underwater will KILL you.
Normal air, a mixture of gasses, is what is needed. Special mixtures with NOX is used for deeper dives.

Humans are insaine which is the reason why messing with or attacking them usually does not end well for the one who foolishly does it. They ARE the apex predictors but not carnivores, actually omnivorous so by crossing them you might wind up being lunch.

Just a pet peeve... SCUBA tanks are NOT "oxygen" tanks. Unless one is diving deep enough to warrant "mixed gas" contents in s SCUBA tank, the tank is filled with plain old atmospheric air. Even when needing and using "mixed gases" if anything, the percentage of actual oxygen in the mix is reduced to a lower percentage of oxygen than is found in "atmospheric air" (21% O2).
In point of fact, breathing pure oxygen anywhere below the depth of 33 feet (10.06 meters) in seawater is toxic to the human body. At 281feet of depth, i.e. at 9.5 atmospheres of pressure has the effect of multiplying that 21% by 9.5 atmospheres to reach a "partial pressure" of oxygen 2 atmospheres of oxygen. When the partial pressure of oxygen in a human body reaches "2 atmospheres" then oxygen becomes toxic, and continuing to breathe oxygen at 2 atmospheres partial pressure will kill you.

One I remember about Krill and Captain Veer but can't find again. Krill and the good Captain get put in a sensory depravation chamber. To most species this is fine, it was declared as a torture device for humans after only a couple of days.
