My setups usually contain added decorations and details that aren't necessary, so I thought it would be nice to set up a cage in the minimum size (100 x 50cm) with just the bare essentials🐹

I’m getting a hamster but we have a wire cage and I don’t think we will have enough bedding for it any tips?? And I love ur set up!
You can use seagrass mats or cardboard around the sides!
Hello:) I have a syrian hamster and i noticed that he has flaky skin on his ears so we thought it might be from the cork log that we had because it had spider like thingies on it. We baked it and did a cage clean( not everything but washed all substrate dishes and cleaned the surface of the bedding. Do you have a tip on what we could do? What bedding is used?
Chipsi classic (spruce)
So I’m making a diy cage, and I wanted to know what woods are safe to build with, I know Aspen spruce and birch plywood are save, right?
It depends where you live, for example in the UK there is no plywood that is formaldehyde free (that can harm their respiratory system) so make sure to check the wood is formaldehyde free! Another option is using ikea furniture like the pax or platsa frames.
@@TheHamsterRoom oh ok! Tysm I was thinking on buying an Aspen indoor plywood, so they don’t spray anything on it. Also in my area I can’t find any safe varnish for the wood, so I was thinking on adding a plastic tray… kinda like putting glass on the base, but budget friendly 😊 tell me if that is a good idea because idk if plastic as a base is bad or…..
I’m not really sure what else to add on the base…
@@POTATOBEAN. formaldehyde is used in the glue that bonds the plywood together I believe, just make sure to check the plywood is definitely free of it! You can use plastikote from amazon (the tub, not spray)

My hamsters cage got infested with weevils and worms so I threw the bedding away and put his cage outside overnight. I put diluted vinegar soap and water in his cage overnight he had to be in a really small bin cage overnight and I just set up his old cage that is 38x19=722 square inches and has over 11 inches of bedding and is a happy hamster right now is there any thing else I should do???❤❤❤ also I LOVE your channel
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear this! What sort of worms is it? I recommend taking your hamster to the exotic vet for treatment
@@TheHamsterRoom we don’t really know what kind of worms it was I know that hamsters hide sickness but he is acting the same way as he has been for the 7 months I’ve had him and we don’t have any exotic vets were I live.

The bamboo root is from a local reptile store, and the 2 tunnels are by rosewood on amazon

Where do you buy the leaves and flower petals too? Can you purchase them somewhere in a large amount rather than only in tiny bags?

I'm not sure if you meant the acorn hide or bamboo root, but the acorn hide is a bird feeder from b&m and the bamboo root was just from a local reptile store but you can find them on Internet reptile 😊

@@MayteACCedar and pine wood beddings are unsafe due to the high level of phenols, but spruce (what I'm using) is safe
