He was the best actor in Friends. He could act his way to anything. I loved him, hated him, found him annoying, then sweet, generous, then petty... He was the character that changed the most in 10 years of Friends.

But acting is something that defines his life, he's a good actor and probably the more skilled out of the Friends lot... and still, he couldn't make the most out of his talents, he couldn't get roles in which being able to shine because Ross Geller became a problem for him and all his talent got wasted. Might feel like a stupid rich people problem but one can't deny other people to have feelings, you know.

After friends, they were all pretty much set for life, so their entire focus (some of them at least) was to make a name for themselves outside of that series and from the looks of it, the cast got stuck in type casts, which is a nightmare for any actor.
From what i heard, david also tried directing a few times, but i'm not sure if that ever went places, i don't hear about him much now a days.
Kind of sad if you think about it, tbh.

I watched a lot of his interviews, and in all of them they asked him about Friends, and he answered so passionally.
After Friends he did not do a lot of jobs because he wanted to focus in directing and theatre which he loves since he was 13, as he mentioned. His dream is to be a director. Also, in 2015 he was back on TV, he had Feed the Beast, American Crime Story, the up coming movie this septemper " the Laundromat, and this August he is done with filming his new sitcom Intelligence.

Haha yeah. I think it's because after Friends he slowly stopped doing acting, and went back into directing and live theatre. He didn't try and soak up the stage, he just got married and had a kid. Pretty admiral if you ask me.
+Alex Creed I agree. He seems so wonderful and down-to-earth. He's the one of the Friends gang we've "seen" the least of, and it's pretty damn great to have him "back". I hadn't really realised how much I've "missed" him and Friends, because all the others have been so obvious-to-the-mainstream succesful and there have been so many rerunsof the show, that I never really felt that longing until now.

I think it’s because he has such obvious little manerisms that really stand out. And they really added a lot to the Ross character but it’s basically just David being himself.
David Schwimmer is one of the most brilliant actors ever, incredibly talented. His acting in F.R.I.E.N.D.S as Ross Geller is so appreciable, great comic timing, amazing expressions! He is so good-looking as well.Also, He seems to be very humble & calm.

Even though they went to the same school, you can tell they were fiercely competing against one another. The other, curious about the other successes. Each using the other as a benchmark. Colbert knew about what Schwimmer was doing but acted like he didn't. They were definitely keeping tabs on each other over the years.

Hailey Noh Agreed. Sometimes he wouldn’t even interrupt, but instead not let him talk at all. He would ask a question and instead of letting him answer, he would just go on and on. When he asked about the fact that David came back to school after summer that one year and was jacked, he just kept talking. David couldn’t get a word in.
Normally, talk show hosts don't have a choice because they have a limited time to let the guest talk

I think David answered your point himself. He said Colbert has the fastest mind. So I guess David is just more deliberate when he speaks. Someone in his staff has to tell Colbert to slow it down a bit.

Was just having discussion with friends and we agreed that of the 3 guys in FRIENDS, Schwimmer is technically the best actor even back then. While Le Blanc and Perry were good, funny and charming, "Ross" really had the techniques down pat.
Schwimmer was the most consistent actor, but Perry's peaks were higher.

bloggs24 I haven't seen anyone who doesn't. They have limited time to ask them a set of questions so sometimes they have to be rude. Especially if the person being interviewed is quiet. Some hosts are just more energetic than the rest like Colbert which results in the idea that he is cutting off people
