It's a really nice detail on scara, really goes to show that he was merely no more than a puppet. He cannot understand whether if these are kind acts or unfortunate incidents. He thinks that once a person abandons him(even if it meant no harm, death, or a different kind of tragedy.) It is betrayal, when it really wasn't. The puppet misunderstood, and because of that. He distorted his view on mortals, and unfortunately ending up as one of the antagonist.
It's an unfortunate tragedy and hopefully he can redeem himself and change for the better, after all his life was all a misunderstanding, I'm sure he deserves a second chance.

Actually, I partially disagree with this. Yes, they emphasized a point that he was unfamiliar with concepts of mortality and humanity because he's a puppet, but more than that, he was human because he could feel anger, hatred, and loathing from these assumed betrayals. He's more than an emotionless puppet programmed to only know one thing. He's a sensitive, emotional, and capable of so much love. But he got betrayed three times, making him wish he could destroy the human emotions he felt and become a puppet just as his original creation was "meant" for. But he's more than a puppet.

It wasn’t that he didn’t tell the full story, it’s that he couldn’t.
He didn’t know his mother wasn’t abandoning him but setting him free, he thought his best friend betrayed him cause he was “monster” and for the third loss he probably felt so sad and angry that mortality took the only person he thought would accept him for him.

rather than scara not understanding the concept of illness, i think the death of that little boy made him crack because he was his last "anchor" of sorts.
by saying "how dare you die", it's probably more like his bitterness towards the world rather than his lack of understanding towards the concept of death.
it's like when we're having such a bad day then we bite into a muffin that tastes awful and we just go into a spiral of anger because we were expecting this muffin to salvage the entirety of the day, and it didn't.
he was fresh out of the experience with katsuragi, so he was in a very vulnerable state. maybe he thought he could start over with the boy again, but he had his doubts. so when the day actually came that he succumbed to his illness, he was probably in "denial" in order to prevent himself from coming face to face with the truth.
in the most recent scaramouche video, we see him just sitting in the middle of flames wishing he wasn't born at all (nice nudge at the good ol' rhapsody hoyo). that's the despair that comes after hysteria.
i don't think i explained the concept very well, so sorry for that. but in short, his "how dare you die" is probably translated to "i took you as the sign that i can still learn how to be human but now that you're dead, doesn't that mean the world is telling me it isn't meant to be? that i am truly different from humans and that is why my own mother betrayed me in the first place?"
reminder that in another video he came home to that hut smiling, then his expression turns dark as he sees the little boy dead. sooo he was emotionally unstable, but was getting there, but then bam kid died. pretty sure he's familiar with death, just that the denial and the sense of superiority was his only other route so he didn't succumb to complete and utter sadness.
like laughing when we get too emotional because if we don't, we'll end up breaking down crying.

Scara tried to seek help from the Raiden Shogun for the people of Tatarasuna (who were dying from the Mikage Furnace malevolent energy) by using that feather but she'd already disappeared into the plane of euthymia. He went to Yae next who promised to bring help, but the help came too late.

I can't still believe that most people still also misunderstood everything. The reason why he thought he was betrayed is because of Dottore who's pulling the strings. The harbingers especially the Jester and Dottore were the ones who betrayed him (besides ei but what she did what intended to free him). He wasn't really supposed to be a harbinger, he wasn't really considered as one. Ei, Niwa, and the kid saw him more than as a puppet but Dottore forces it upon him that he is merely just a puppet and had done a lot of experiments on him. Nahida mentioned that dottore had done such painful things to him and since he is just a puppet, he couldn't feel how painful it looks the procedure was. “Raiden’s protection.” She basically saw him as a weak being and “freed” him. Some people may say that Ei set him free and did the right thing, but no matter how differently I look at it, I still can’t agree with them. Ei discarded him because he showed weakness, because he cried. Not only that, but she threw him away when he was just created, meaning he has so limited knowledge and understanding of how the world and it’s inhabitants work or live. Which made him think people who claimed to be his friends, his family betrayed him when in fact it was their time to go, and some because he got manipulated by Dottore. If Ei “protected” him, she’d still stay by his side and welcome him back to their house, but of course this was what did not happened. I just can’t see reason to agree that what Ei/Raiden did was for Kunikuzushi’s or now, the Wanderer’s own betterment/sake.

i dont disagree with you. Ei did abandon him. But i also feel like the same morals that we apply to parent-child relationships wouldn't be the same for immortal beings. I mean, does Ei even have a proper comprehension of what a child-parents relationship is? Her family was her sister and she served as a weapon/shadow for her. Did they have parents?how did they grow up?
I mean, obviously just like scaramouche isn't excused for his later actions and raiden gokuden, ei also isnt forgiven for her actions with scara or inazuma (the results of her action or rather inaction have led to worse things).
Personally, I like the layered conversations players can have about these characters. Because the more we learn, the more gray they become. And ironically, the more relatable and human.

    • @Fanimati0n
      @Fanimati0n Před rokem +6

I honestly think it's more complicated than did or didn't. You can't really apply conventional morals to immortal beings because mortality has a hand in shaping morality. Ei doesn't have the CAPACITY to understand the fragility of mortal life & the complications & nuances that accompany it because she's a warrior.
Makoto died because she wasn't strong enough to protect her & everyone else, therefore power = life. Scara couldn't hold her gnosis but she didn't want to kill him, so showed him what she thought to be a great act of compassion: a show of power. That ornament symbolizes the power of the Shogun & the consequences of attacking someone holding it are dire.
Her power will save his life. From Ei's perspective, she gave him a great show of compassion by giving him that ornament & placing him under her protection. From Scara's perspective, his mother abandoned him because he wasn't powerful enough to be, essentially, her successor
