Very informative video but I was hoping to find the link to apply for Handmade after your professional seller's account has been approved. The link I found is getting me started as a brand-new seller.
Thank you ! I make my own handcrafted jewelry I want to start selling my jewelry .I have been making jewelry for years I just been giving my nice jewelry away I don't know how to sell online but I am stepping out willing to learn.
Thank you for your videos! They’re so helpful! But I have a question, my niece has 10yo, she is fashion designer, she’s created and sewing things by herself, how can I apply for her?
Hi Jane, sorry for the slow reply! I would make the account in both your names, and maybe brand it as an 'Aunt and Niece shop (but she does all the work!)'. Amazing that she is into business at that age!
Hi Teddy. Thank you so much for your thorough explanation. I'm a sewer myself. I do girl's dresses. I want to start selling on the net through Amazon Handmade. I have a Payoneer account. Is Amazon gonna accept it as a bank account? Another question is I'm from Algeria. So I'd like to know if Amazon accepts sellers from all over the world.

Good video Teddy! I am planning on commissioning artesians to handmake products according to my design ideas. So, can I submit a photo of an artesian making the product and upload it when I apply for Amazon handmade or does this disqualify me? thanks alot!
That should be ok, you should say you're a cooperative or group of makers. Dont tell Amazon that you commission the items, as that will trigger one of their alarms.
hi teddy, thanks for the video! i have a question, if i make custom cake toppers, where clients need to actually contact me and provide images and info (on etsy it's via convo), would i be able to sell on amazon handmade? will they have a way to contact me? i appreciate you reply!
I am starting with individual account. Because can not afford to pay for professional account at the moment. I checked on Google that individual account is okay. Please let me know about it. I already have individual account. I had professional account. But I downgraded it to avoid paying monthly fee for nothing. So I am starting as an individual seller. To apply for handmade products to sell on amazon. Please let me know. Thanks
The best thing to do would be get set up as a professional account, then get the refund once you have been accepted onto Amazon Handmade, as this is the best way to go forward.
instead of linking my bank account can amazon pay me on my prime credit card..and if not my tax lady said i should create a separate bank account for my business..is that really necessary or helpful

Hey Rafeek, I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean you created a product but someone else is now selling it? If you just want to change the price, thats quite easy, you can do it from the manage inventory page.
Hi Teddy, thank you for your excellent work with videos! Did you register your trademark in the USA to apply for Amazon handmade and regular Amazon, or is it unnecessary? Thank you!
You only need a trademark if you're doing brand registry. You don't need to do it at first. Also you can use a trade mark from other countries too, eg I use a UK trade mark.
Hey thanks for this useful video. I'm selling already as professional FBA about 7 products. Now I have one that I want to try to sell as handmade which I make myself. Is this a problem for my other FBA products since I apply with my whole account for FBA? I didn't see you can add any ASIN in your video that I only want to enroll
I was rejected months ago. Have been trying to get someone to tell me why. No one is available to talk to. After much trying, I realize, that if this is how they handle sellers, how will they handle buyers? That would ultimately ruin any credibility I am building, and for me, that's a deal breaker. Amazon's customer service is the plinth of failure in the business world.
Salutations kind sir, as I was perusing the Amazon handmade site and I came across some shirts and poster that seemed to have been AI fashioned. Is that ok according to your understanding or are they taking a big risk? I saw some possible AI art on a few mugs as well. I am trying to grasp the boundaries of hand altered vs text on a mug. Thanks for any assistance. Hope this found you very well.
Question: When someone shops on Amazon as a buyer they usually go to the main Amazon page and type in what they are looking for, will this search include Amazon Handmade in what it pulls up? Or do they need to specifically pull up Amazon Handmade to look for handmade items?
Hey Cristina. Handmade products appear in 'normal' Amazon searches. eg, if I search for baby boots, I might see some boots which are non handmade and some that are handmade in the same search.
Hi Teddy! If we draw digital artwork and put it on a mug, but use a third-party merchant like printify to fulfill the end product. Does this qualify as a handmade product? Do you think we should apply in this case?
Hey! Unfortunately not, you will need a normal pro sellers account. But you could print your images, and sell them as a print. You could also print them yourself and that would be ok. I think the problem with using printify is you wouldn't pass the verification, as you need yo show your manufacturing processes.
I applied, I'm so confused - I applied for a regular seller account - got in - and immediately was charged $39.99. I applied for amazon handmade. I don't want to pay the $39.99 as I'm trying to simply sell my art prints through amazon handmade. So incredibly confused, no one on amazon could help me. I'm getting charged and I have 0 listings
Hey Margenta, yes you will get charged at first, but you will get the money back once you have been accepted onto Amazon Handmade. Once you have been accepted into Handmade, you need to raise a case with Amazon to get the refund. hope that helps!
Hey Paula, thanks for commenting. Which part of the sign up did you use the business name for? You should be able to change it, as things like this do happen. eg if you get a new business name or a new brand name.

Because if we take professionnal plan with 39.99/monthly and then we pay this plan during 3 months or more or less did they refund us after ?
Hi I am based in the UK but make handmade furniture items in India and import them , artisans hand make them ( less than 10 staff ) , does this qualify as handmade product ?
Hey Orama, just checked out your stuff on Etsy, your furniture is really nice! Potentially it would yes, you would need to make sure you are showing Amazon the production process when you sign up.
What would you recommend for someone who does multiple crafts? I sew a variety of home decor items, work with resin to create jewelry, crossstich, and I’m learning wood working. I’m looking into selling online for the first time. Not 100% sure if I should specialize on one thing.
Hey! Great question. If you already make these items, there is no harm in selling them all. I would probably start by listing your best items, then moving onto others. Are you on Etsy already?
HELLO SIR I GOT REJECTED AS HAND MADE SELLER AND THATY ASKE THE SAME QUECTIONS AS IN APPLICATION WILL YOU PLASE GUIDE ME HOW TO ANSWER THAT COS I ALREADY ANSWRED IN FIRST PLACE What production processes/methods are used in creating your items? What is your design process? Where do you work? Once designed, how long does it take to create an item? What is the final product? The number of items you can produce in a week. Any additional details, including photos!
hi Teddy, thank you for this video. It is super informative. Im a seller on Etsy but thinking of switching to Amazon Handmade for the exact reason you stated about Alibaba ripoffs. Basically I do mixed media assemblage, but my "canvas" if you can call it that, is in the form of wearable art (jewelry) and handmade books. I know these are 2 different categories on Amazon - Jewelry and Stationery. Are we allow this? Can I list both categories on the application (and in the shop, should I get approved) Second question - is it considered handmade if my pieces (jewelry and books) consist of components that I purchase ... like metal filigrees or vintage clock gears or miniature metal swords. I do include stuff like this into my book covers and jewelry pieces, eventho I sew the books myself. Thank you for your time!!
Thanks for the question, I'm really glad you like the video! Question 1 - Yes you can sell in multiple categories, you only really need to put one in your application. You get approved for 'handmade' as a whole cateogry. You sometimes need extra approval to sell in some restricted categories, for example food, babies, toys - these are the obvious ones. In your case, you *might* need extra approval for jewllery if you sell really high end stuff like diamonds and rubies. Question 2 - Yes that is fine, it would count as handmade or hand altered.

Thanks for your video.bits been really helpful. I have recently applied for Amazon handmade. However, Amazon have just says that they will charge me £25 subscription fee for the first month but I didn't see this information in your video. Do you know anything about this fee as I was under the impression it was free. I welcome any help
Hey Emily, yes Amazon will charge you, but you can claim it back once you're accepted onto Amazon Handmade. Once you've been accpeted, you just need to raise a case with them and they will repay you.
Thank you for your very helpful video Teddy, I want to register on Amazon Handmade, I started the seller central application and they're asking me for my credit card info in order to take the Subscription Fee. I know the Amazon Handmade application is the following step - after I complete the seller central application - but what if Amazon goes a head an deducts the subscription fee as soon as I enter my credit card information?
@@fr0yd Hi Daniel, the only way to create an account on amazon Handmade is to go forward with the Seller Central Application. They will charge you $39.99 but they will also refund you that amount once your Handmade application has been approved! It's not right, there should be a simpler easier way where we can create a Handmade account without paying but I guess it's a flaw that Amazon has. I hope they improve their process in the future.
@@fatimamatar4710 thanks for clarifying Fatima, I went ahead and applied. It seems to me a purposeful flaw from Amazon's side, one they wouldn't want to fix.
Hi Teddy, your video are great. I followed your step for applying for Amazon Handmade. I got rejected first time and Amazon came back will questions they needed answering which I did only to be rejected 3 minutes after I send the email containing a description of the whole process for design to shipping including photos. This also got rejected, call Amazon and asked if a Human not a robot could review my application and it still got rejected. No reason, other seller are on the handmade section sell printed 11oz mugs which are printed via a sublimation process and a mug press. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG! Please help
Hi there, thanks fo the comment! Could you email me the pictures and the description you made? I can have a look. It might be that you have made the pictures too good. It might also be that you haven't shown the printing process.
This was very helpful. Thanks so much! Can I apply for amazon handmade with a brand new company + products? Meaning that I create the products and start selling them ONLY on Amazon Handmade? Or do they want to see that you also sell on other platforms online (like Etsy) or have your own website?
Hi Teddy! thank you for the video. I just opened the professional seller account but they have deducted the fee of $ 39. I already filled out the application for handmade but I did not receive any confirmation of receipt. should i wait? Or do I have to open a case to get a refund?
Hey Juliana, thanks! Love your content :) Yes they will deduct the $39 fee at first. Once you have been accepted onto the Handmade program the fee will be waived, and you can then ask amazon for the $39 to be refunded to you. Amazon should get in touch with you once you have been accepted.
Hey Monique, Saint Lucia is fine to set up an account. Here is a list of all countries that can set up : sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/external/G200405020?language=en_GB
It depends on your products, its important to do the research to make sure your products are a good fit. Overall you get higher traffic, so it can be really good. Amazon accounts for a higher proportion of my sales than Etsy does.
BE CAREFUL,. They don't seem to give you the option right away to opt out of the professional seller account, also Amazon automatically signs you up for every international marketplace they have. So even if you cancel your professional account in the US market or whatever market you signed up in, you can't cancel the professional to the others therefore a bunch of charges will hit your card. When you go to contact customer service they ignore you. It's a nightmare. Really opened my eyes with this company, they scam the naive.
Yes you need to be careful when you sign up, as you might be charged for your first month. However you can get the money back once you've been approved for handmade.
The application process for me has been a nightmare! I was accepted as a seller really easily, then I applied for Handmade. I filled the form in carefully, included photos and a long description of how I make my handcrafted bags from scratch etc, etc. I sent the application and was supposed to get a decision in 48 hours. A week later I contacted Amazon to find out what was happening, to discover that I’d been rejected. I appealed and they asked me what email I’d used on the app. Three times in one day they asked that and I replied three times. Then they rejected me again on the grounds that my handcrafted handbags don’t fit the criteria - they cited digital products, food, live plants, mass produced items, pet food and a lot of other stuff that my bags obviously aren’t. Twice more we went through this and I’m still not accepted!! I think nobody is actually reading my replies and I’m going to try and take this higher. Wish me luck!!
Eugh that's annoying. You should just try and make your photos and the section about the manfacturing process really clear that it is hand made. Weirdly, it can help to use less professional photos for the application process, just use your phone to show your workstation or something like that.
@@teddyagsmith Thanks for the advice.Actually I did exactly that but it still took forever. They finally accepted me - but didn’t tell me they had!! I found out by accident when I went to downgrade my account from Pro and got a warning that my Handmade account couldn’t function without a Pro sellers account! 🙄 To be honest, I’m not at all sure I want to work or be associated with such a shipload of incompetent bozos!!
So meaning we have to sign up to your email to get the cheat sheet. Be different than everyone else, just say that instead. You all are the same. Focusing on money and subscribers instead of genuinely being helpful. And then say wait until the end of the video, like everyone else. Such a shame
Hi Marlena, I think that depends on your products. If you already sell fba, you won't get the free monthly subscription payment. But you'll be able to add a makers page and handmade listings. What do you sell at the moment?

Hey Emily, yes Amazon will charge you, but you can claim it back once you're accepted onto Amazon Handmade. Once you've been accpeted, you just need to raise a case with them and they will repay you.
Thank you for your very helpful video Teddy, I want to register on Amazon Handmade, I started the seller central application and they're asking me for my credit card info in order to take the Subscription Fee. I know the Amazon Handmade application is the following step - after I complete the seller central application - but what if Amazon goes a head an deducts the subscription fee as soon as I enter my credit card information?
I have the same exact question. I am hesitating to go forward with the application process and get charged before I can apply for the Amazon Handmade.
@@fr0yd I agree! Good luck Daniel, I wish you a lot of success selling your handmade products :)
@@fatimamatar4710 thanks a lot, same to you Fatima!
Hi teddy may I ask, whether the products listed on amazon handmade searchable in regular amazon search?
Hi Fitria, yes the products will be searchable in the regular amazon search, thats one of the best things about Amazon Handmade.
Keep it up
Hi Teddy, your video are great.
And the link to the ebook on Amazon leads nowhere!
Thanks for letting me know, I will check them. If you search Amazon Handmade Roadmap, you should find it.
This was very helpful. Thanks so much! Can I apply for amazon handmade with a brand new company + products? Meaning that I create the products and start selling them ONLY on Amazon Handmade? Or do they want to see that you also sell on other platforms online (like Etsy) or have your own website?
Hey Marica. You can start from scratch, but Amazon will want to see the process of how you make the products, so you need to at least make some first.
@@teddyagsmith Got it. Thanks so much!
liked a lot
NYC 😍
Hi Teddy! thank you for the video.
@@teddyagsmith thank you very much! ☺️🙏🏼
Good ♥️
Hi Teddy! Thanks for the video! If I use a PO Box for shipping, do I use that as my address, or my actual address?
you can use the PO box for your address, but Amazon may send you a postcard to prove your address is your address. In which case the PO box won't work
@@teddyagsmith Thanks!
Hi do you know the list of countries that are allowed to sell on Amazon Handmade? I can’t seam to see the list of countries. I live in St. Lucia
Hey Monique, Saint Lucia is fine to set up an account. Here is a list of all countries that can set up : sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/external/G200405020?language=en_GB
I would like to open a Handmade account, but what if I already have an Amazon seller account and sell products there?
Hi Arif, so sorry for the delay. You can have a 'normal' account and a handmade account. You would just need to pay the monthly fee.
can we add our artworks like paintings here?
Yes you can, you just can't sell digital files, they need to be physical artworks
Do you rate Amazon handmade over Etsy ?
It depends on your products, its important to do the research to make sure your products are a good fit. Overall you get higher traffic, so it can be really good. Amazon accounts for a higher proportion of my sales than Etsy does.
How do I get to sell third party products on Etsy? They all handmade from my country burundi.
Hi Teddy,
I have my pro seller central amazon account. Do I need to apply for Amazon handmade program and convert it into Amazon Handmade?
You don't need to 'convert' it, but you do need to apply for Amazon Handmade. It automatically stops charging you the monthly fee
@@teddyagsmith Perfect, thanks for the clarification.
@@handiann dealing with Amazon seller support sucks. It's just one of those things.
Can you sell both handmade and and products you bought form alibaba? on the same account
Yes you can, but you will need to pay the monthly fee for a professional account.
So meaning we have to sign up to your email to get the cheat sheet. Be different than everyone else, just say that instead. You all are the same. Focusing on money and subscribers instead of genuinely being helpful. And then say wait until the end of the video, like everyone else. Such a shame
sorry you don't like it!
This guys so useless he didnt even show how he got to handmade application. He just had it opened
Hi Sir! What about if I already have a professional seller account and I’m selling fba, should I still apply for handmade seller account?
Hi Marlena, I think that depends on your products. If you already sell fba, you won't get the free monthly subscription payment. But you'll be able to add a makers page and handmade listings. What do you sell at the moment?
@@teddyagsmith yes I’m still selling a private label product that doesn’t do well
