I’m a 53 yo male truck driver, and I got my Swift Fix a few weeks ago in Minneapolis ❤ There I was, singing Love Story, 22, Blank Space, Bejeweled, and 40 other songs, with over 70,000 Swifties. Mostly women and girls. Most of whom I was probably old enough to be there father.
Now I’m starting to have withdrawal. This is gonna be a Cruel Summer.

I have three things to say:
1. Imagine writing a song so great it turned all your haters into fans, to the point that SNL wrote a sketch about it.
2. I've always been a Swift fan, but the first time I heard 22, I had no idea it was her singing and I, too, experienced vertigo.
3. This was the sketch that made me say, "Oof. Saturday Night Live? I don't like Saturday Night Live." And my eyes said, "Shut up. This is a perfect sketch."

Because she is MOSTLY one note...and that note is almost a stereotype. She's not awful, but she's nowhere near the level of Deborah Wilson, Kate McKinnon, or even Emma Stone when it comes to multi-level humor. That's my perception anyway. I think she was used well in this skit, though.
As a swifite who's even memorized her unreleased music, I can tell you that I went through this in 2008 when I realized I loved her.

This happened to me when I first heard songs from her Lover album thanks to a friend who loves her. And for a while I was getting vertigo almost every day. But thanks to Swiftamine I can relax and focus on just enjoying her music. Thanks Doctor David Doctor.

This is exactly what happened to me. I hated her songs and when my kids would put on the music channel and I was in the room I'd go NO! NO! turn it off! But oddly it was this swiftamine skit itself that pulled me in. I was innocently watching SNL when I heard the beat at the very end. I was in such denial about who it was that I said to myself why are they using that fantastic beat for a Taylor Swift skit?! That's not her music...... (oh my God is that her music) ?! So yeah ever since then I've been addicted to Blank Space and Shake it off. True story
proof 1989 is one of the best of her albums whether it's your favourite or not and maybe even one of THE best albums
I'm guessing in your case you've only heard her singles on the radio so if 6 years later you still kinda like her then I recommend checking out some of the other tracks on Fearless / Fearless (Taylor's Version) (mostly the rerecording assuming it was her voice that you didn't like back then) and also Red, from Fearless I'd recommend Hey Stephen, The Best Day, and Jump Then Fall, from Red I recommend Starlight, Treacherous, and Girl At Home

Always heard her name. Didn’t go any further than that. Then one day I decided to find out what all the fanfare was about. After the first song I couldn’t stop hearing about her. Not just the singing, writing. She’s also a comedian on the talk shows. Generous to her crew. She’s a young woman who is fresh and likes to have fun. And we get to see it. Don’t think I’d go to her concerts. Probably couldn’t get a ticket. I would have to have a front row seat.
I think we need "Swiftamine" for those people who left an Eras Tour concert in a state to psychological shock after experiencing a psychological "high" for over three hours nearly non-stop. I've seen several videos of people who left the concert and yikes....
This is one of those iconic sketches you just need to rewatch every so often, like David S. Pumpkins and Black Jeopardy with Tom Hanks.
Omg this has been me the last few years. When she was at the top of my Spotify Wrapped during the pandemic because of Folklore and Evermore I was like !!!! But then I thought it was just a phase and her Midnights album was a reversion. But nope! She just came to Seattle and it's such a big deal when she comes to cities that I watched streams of the Eras concerts both nights (first artist to sell out Lumen Field back to back nights). And then I fell further down the rabbithole and ... oh God I think I'm a permanent Swiftie now.
So, when I listened to "Shake It Off" and enjoyed it, I was already a bit dumbfounded. Then on a whim I listened to the entire album 1989 and enjoyed it. My brain almost exploded.
I'll own up to it; I'm one of those weird hipster types whose favorite band is Radiohead. And I fucking love Taylor Swift.
