"Inspiration needs to find you working" Like a ship can only turn when moving. Bravo
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I need to make a schedule and show up. And honestly I need to prioritize my art above all else. I have no other commitments and I'm very undisciplined. My reason for painting is that my work brings joy to people. And that is very rewarding. Making a schedule, getting into the habit and just showing up are all the answers for me right now. Thank you for this free podcast. 🙏 ❤
Outstanding as usualx
Hi, I'm a photographer considering getting into art photos - great series of talks so far, very inspiration! Looking forward to the next one!
Good advice. I did this when I was producing a lot of art and making new and exciting things (to me). And selling a lot of art. I've only painted once in the last 9 months. It's good advice for other things as well.
Thank you for your encouragement. You have pointed out so many pitfalls i have fallen into, and errors in my thinking. Not having goals, not figuring out why i even want to create, expecting results at the end of a long exhausting day taking care of everything not art, generally relegating creating art to the bottom of my list. I have a lot of changes to make!
Have a plan. Silence the witches. Do it. A lot easier said than done. I think over perfectionism is my albatross. It can cause paralysis.
Why do you have to have a reason for everything ?? This is exactly what's killing the momentum, taking away the joy of doing whatever you're doing. I didn't need a reason to become a teacher, I was naturally good at it and that was it. I never ran out of ideas to pionnier in this profession. To me, this push of knowing exactly why you're doing what is enough to stop creating. As soon as you put $$, you've lost your motivation, your joy, your kid's spirit. Sorry, but I had to say it. Trust your intuition and leave the nay sayers in the dust
I think that she mentioned those who don't really care about having a reason and it was not a criticism. She said that this video was for those who are serious about becoming a better painter.
