Being a professional makes it a job. Retired now, I paint for myself. Not accepting commissions, not focused on selling at all… although I get offers constantly. The joy is in the process, the variety as a plein air painter. Each time out is an exciting adventure in itself. That’s what I would suggest if one is bored. After 45 years in offices and a home studio, I found my passion again.

🙁🙄I’m going through a rut. Wanting to quit my job, husband not supporting, people not answering my calls or texts 😢, feeling lonely and isolated. My daughter passed away last year and she was my muse. I don’t know how to boost my creativity! Hopefully, it will pass soon. 😭

I’d keep the job because it will help take your mind off the way things are going. I’m very sorry for your loss. I’d be in a terrible rut for that too! Allow yourself to accept life is messy, not perfect and challenging. Really focus you will be able to try to do a restart eventually. It’s around the corner and ask what you’d want your daughter to do if she were you. She can still be your muse. I know I’ve learned my hardest lessons from my daughter.

@@cynthiamarston2208 Thank you for your kind words. Yes, my daughter was the teacher of the most important and profound lessons. She showed me the way to God and to surrender to his wisdom. RIP my dear until we meet again in heaven. 😭😭😭
