    Impeccable commentary. Second to none. “Coming up around 6:15 here for, is it 1200?”

    6:53 "he's a racer, the racers always do well". I am going to start my own running journalism corp. Literally cannot be worse than this

    Bill Rodgers is the commentator that seemed a bit off. He is a legend of the sport of running and at 74 in 2022 he still has a deep the love for it.
    He's not necessarily here to give the greatest play-by-play commentary, is more here to represent the great history of running along with still having that appreciation for it even at his age.

      Hopefully he works on that arm action. If you watch the guys who pulled away from him, there’s a very clear difference in form, and for a good reason. Can’t really drive your legs when your hands are in your pockets

    These pro’s need to step it up. There’s so many pro’s losing to college kids these days. When I was in HS/NCAA, to hear of a college kid beating a big name pro almost never happened. They have classes, homework, study tables, social life, etc. to deal with on a daily basis….. pro’s literally just run. I had a small pro contract for 12 months and even just having the ability to move from full time to part time work and opening up my daily schedule that much more made training and racing so much easier. Ran almost all of my PR’s in a 3-4 month time period during that year

    • @ayeeffvee8173
      @ayeeffvee8173 Před rokem +1

      Things aren’t like when you were in the NCAA. College kids are receiving the same treatments as pros in an academic, controlled environment. The science and secrets behind running are becoming more widespread, some highschoolers are able to compete at a professional level.
      The sport is evolving, not to the fault of any professionals.
      Additionally, none of us - including yourself as a self-acclaimed pro - have the right to call out anyone who is working as hard as the people on your screen do. Didn’t your mother ever tell you that if you didn’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all?

      These college kids are getting wicked fast, and to be fair Engels has been considering retiring after a pretty long and successful career

    • @jazzyjay4595
      @jazzyjay4595 Před rokem +2

      @@ayeeffvee8173 bro I’m only 26, it wasn’t long ago that I was in college. Things didn’t change that fast.
      I have all the right to call out someone to do their job better 😂 the same as when people tell the president to the job better. Or telling FloTrack commentators to do their job better because the old ones were on another level. Or telling a student to get better grades. Telling a coach to run a different play. There’s so many situations where it’s completely appropriate to tell a professional athlete to do the job better than a college kid.
      I’ll address the “self-acclaimed” statement now. I didn’t self appoint that. A contract with monetary value and forgoing the remainder of my NCAA eligibility made the claim for me. Think before you speak, my mom told me that one.

      New Balance really trying to do too much with fashion in running. Forgetting that distance runners actually need functionality because their races last longer than a minute. You can get away with that stuff in short distance m

    A new correlation: The more trash on the inside of the track, the lower the quality of the commentary. There is a LOT of trash lying around.
