Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid adds to an already burgeoning strikeforce of Vinicius Junior, Rodryo, Jude Bellingham and the soon-to-arrive Endrick.
So where does Mbappe fit in? Liam Tharme argues that with Carlo Ancelotti as manager Real Madrid with all their superstars is the perfect place for Mbappe to reach his potential.
    Marco Bevilacqua illustrates.

Real Madrid have been the most tactically flexible team in this sport for a decade. They won a UCL/La Liga title with a 34 year old striker in 2022 and won that exact double WITHOUT a striker at all just this year, with a 19/20 year old midfielder being the top scorer. ‪Mbappé knows what he have to do and will always try his best, let’s give up the “mbappé always wants to be the main man” gimmick.‬ Last years in psg, Mbappé honestly at times had to minimize his strengths for the collective of the team because of the other player’s shortcomings or simply because the coach didn’t value his ability. (Galtier and Enrique)
People love saying “mbappé lost his ability to do what he’s best at” but then ignore the fact 23/24 Enrique and the midfield didn’t and couldn’t complement Mbappe’s strengths, plus psg was always playing on the right side (everyone in the midfield either passing back or to dembele even tho he’s a poor crosser and would hardly find Mbappé or Ramos where they needed the ball) psg also lacked quality and consistent chance creators. Mbappé still scored around 44 goals

In 2002, Real Madrid, dubbed the "Galacticos" by the press, aimed to build a team of superstars. After winning their first UCL in 32 years in 1998 and again in 2000, they focused on signing top players. This included Luis Figo (Ballon d'Or 2000) and Zidane (Ballon d'Or 1998). Their strategy worked initially, winning another UCL in 2002, making it three titles in five years and promising a bright future. Then came the game-changing moment Ronaldo (R9), the world's most feared striker, joined Real Madrid fresh from his 2002 World Cup win with Brazil, where he was the top scorer. He also won the Ballon d'Or that year. Initially, the team looked unstoppable, securing a European Super Cup win over Feyenoord. However, problems soon arose. Despite Ronaldo's brilliance, the team, already packed with offensive stars like Raul and Morientes, struggled in the Champions league. They started the season slowly and were eventually knocked out in the semifinals by Juventus.Real Madrid remained committed to their strategy by signing players like Owen and Beckham in the following years, but their Champions League success eluded them. They eventually shifted tactics, and it took 12 years to win the Champions League again. High-profile transfers can have mixed results. Mbappe's best position is on the left wing, where Real already has Vini Jr. This means Mbappe might play as a striker. Currently, Real has a younger, more balanced squad with a promising future, even if they aren't dominating under Carlo.

Be cool if you did a video on proposed rules changed to football to 'improve' the game.
    Ideas:
    1) Penalties for Penalty shootouts being converted to 'half way line' runs - been tried before, why didn't it work?
    2) Bigger goals? For more goals?
    3) More subs (been done now!) Five subs per game!
    4) Offside change! What Wenger is proposing - makes it much easier for attackers.
    5) Mid half breaks of 1-2 minutes, like we had in the pandemic. This was actually really food I thought. Makes the games even longer though
    6) Stopping the clock for when the ball is out of play. This is another great one, but will extend the game a lot overall I think, even if you lessen the game time clock appropriately.
    7) 'Sinbins' - again another great idea, but it will cause a huge amount of tactical changes.
    8) Changes to the Penalty run up rule to help the keeper?

  • @vincent91120
    @vincent91120 Před měsícem

I completly disagree. If you look at Mbappe's heatmap with PSG or France, he naturally plays 7. However his poor defensive pressure, creates a problem for any team and a midfield must cover for him (Fabian Ruiz for PSG / Rabiot for France). Its better to keep Vinicius who does a better job overall as a 7. Thats why Luis Enrique moved him to 9, where there is no need to cover for him. He can stay in front, and be in a "free" position. BUT Mbappe is also NOT a 9. In that position, his heatmap shows he's rarely in the box, and plays lower like a 10 to participate in the game play. On top you will see that he has ZERO head game, which is nowadays mandatory for a real 9. Mbappe in a 9 position at Real Madrid will often be in the same space as Bellingham, and there will be nobody to take the crosses in the box, coming from the wings. Thats why I think it will be a real issue for Ancelotti to manage him. In PSG or France, the whole team is made around him, thats why his statistics are phenomenal. But in Real Madrid, it wont be the case, with players like Bellingham, Vinicius, and so on.
I know its an unpopular opinion, but I dont think Mbappe is a good addition to Real Madrid. Time will only tell the truth...

Inter got to a final already and barely lost to Atleti on penalties in a fortress of a Metropolitano where not even Real could win last season, while absolutely dominating the Serie A, with the best defenders in the world, a top 5 keeper in the world and a incredible Lautaro Martinez who's currently on the level of a Kane and Haaland as a ST.
