- Geo discusses reports that West Ham United's Technical Director, spent the weekend in Brazil watching 4 matches on scouting mission as the Hammers prepare for the summer transfer window. Tim Steidten also stated '“I wanted to have overall responsibility (and) I wanted to take control myself. It was a stark change for all three (Sullivan, Moyes and Steidten).
“David Moyes - I think - noticed through my transfers that my work was important. Conversely, I learned an incredible amount from him when it comes to perspectives on football.
“A squad restructuring is always a four-to-five-year project. I was at Werder for 18 years and could probably have worked there longer.'

Will any signing from Brazil be required to sign for our project club in Austria??
The problem being that we aren't going to get 100m
@@DirectDemocrat nobody is suggesting we will?
Tim Steidten is the only reason to be optimistic about West Ham's future at the moment. Go Tim!
I really trust this man....there are so many first team players who need replacing and I'm sure Tim can sort it....GO ON TIM!!!
I was buzzing when we got him but wary of Sullivan and hated the January transfer window as felt he interfered
In Steidten we trust, football wise but I wouldn't let him check my nuts in the shower
@@HammersChatMoyes had plenty of players offered, only wanted Phillips
Depends on who you believe mate
@@HammersChat It’s well documented and reported by all the reputable ITK’s
I’m not saying Tim steiden single handedly won Leverkusen the league , but he had a big part in the recruitment and when their biggest signing was 12 million , you would be a fool not to listen to what players he recommend. Me personally I can’t wait for moyes to go so we can get on with actually trying to build something
In Tim we trust.
In Tim I am hopeful but in Sullivan I do not trust
I think when Steiden is talking a 4 to 5 year contract, he is referring to not just creating a top four team, but creating a squad, much like Man City, that competes there every year.
Love video, luv the steiden project, I won't believe anything until moyes has gone.
Getting started on the summer rebuild now is what we all want to hear - just got to hope Sullivan on board and won't frustrate the process and that he makes the decision on Moyes before the end of the season...
Might be controversial but I'd cash in on paqueta, get 100m off city and use it like the rice money, he cna be magic but he can be lazy and uninterested
Me too mate, hopefully get near the £85m and try to get 2/3 players in with that.
dont think thats controverisal at all.. paq is critical because moyes is limited, our manager really needs on a bit of magic to get things going but under a more rounded manager i'd hope paq wouldn't be anywhere near as critical, tim will do wonderful things with 85m, i think his signings so far have been excellent, even mavro whos mental game is being affected by moyes management imho
Not controversial to me....maybe we can sign a player who doesnt get a yellow every other game
Indeed, type of player who I love to watch.
No doubt he's choosing his moments now. Appreciate how we play isn't conducive to his array of talents, but very indifferent at times.
Without being petty, I also think a few injuries will be more prevalent.
Tim Steidten in my opinion will be a massive advance on where we are.
At least the quest for new talent has begun at the right time, not with a week of the window left.
Moyes has to go, and I think Steidten has placed a few of his own choices in position, the January debacle won't happen again due to strengthening of his position.
Only an opinion, I think Steidten has straightened few things with Sullivan, and will oversee much of the direction.
He's not someone's assistant anymore, at a good age and experienced.
100% 85m in the bank to reinvest hopefully we can keep hold of Kudus though 🤞
Hoping he's scouting for a defence
You only have to look at Leverkusen, it's a no trainer let him take control!
To look for a new magnifico 😉⚒️
Steidten looking at strikers in Brazil is only good news if we already know what’s happening with the manager position. Striker means something very different to Moyes compared to most other managers. As for legitimate rebuilding period lengths, imo 4 to 5 years to implement a rebuilding strategy is way too long. It’s glacial, basically a Moyes project time line. I think implementing a new project should take no more than maybe three summer windows and two January windows. Should take 4 to 6 windows tops.
Yes, Moyes sees strikers as another defensive line
@@simonhughes7141 I'd laugh if you were joking. But you're not. It's depressing.
Nice to have something to be optimistic and hopeful about - fingers crossed something comes of it!
Forget the players in Brazil, bring back a manager !!!
I am sure one has already been lined up
@@patrickjoel4041 🤞
A good friend of mine is a Club Brugge fan. Constantly raving about an 18yr old winger they have called Nusa. Wouldn't mind a link to him!
Another fantastic video. Maybe one for end of season but it would be great to have a video on what your 5 year plan would be if you were Tim.
Look at it this way Gio Bayer L won the Bunders league for the 1st time in history because of TS selecting players for the club also the manager i'm not saying we could do the same but it shows the talent he has in getting the right players and manager so it could be exciting times for West Ham next season
What was the name of that west ham fan you had on here a few years ago about South American football he really knew his stuff...can we get an update on what he thinks now ?
Does this mean that the club know who the manager will be nxt season so he knows who to sign, otherwise it'll just be the same as always, sign a player nd the manager wont use him, opefuly there is something happening in the background 🤞 COYI
Geo you’d imagine that Steiden would need to know what type of striker is needed and therefore needs to know who the manager will be presumably…🤔
But Leverkusen sign players to fit a style of football THEN a manager to play that way
@@HammersChat that’s right - it’s a far more stable approach and makes far more sense in so many ways than having a complete overhaul and restructuring “project “ every 3 to 5 years ….
arne slots (or whoever) reinforcements incoming
i wonder if this means our local home grown targets are sorted
I reckon we might be looking at the Corinthian's manager. Could've sworn I heard a rumour he was on a shortlist.
Check your nads lads
I am pleased Tim is in Brazil. However I am slightly confused by how he can recruit players until the manager situation is sorted. How can he know what style of play, for example? Defenders or attackers, etc. Do you think either he knows who the new manager will be (maybe on the quiet) or that it will be Moyes? Perhaps Sullivan is still interfering? Something not quite right, I think.
Or the next de-bryne
Give it to him. We can’t lose this man
Gerson & Pedro @ Flemengo, Luis Guilherme @ Palmeiras
Hope Tim’s also looking at the lower leagues here as well, as we still need to make sure we maintain the home grown quota, and thanks to lack of game time opportunities so far (and some poor loan club choices), I’m not sure many of our academy players will be ready to step up any time soon.
I said on the live show on deadline day that window will cost us Europe I bet I won’t be wrong at this rate we won’t be top ten
So whose idea was it to sign Luizão on a free?? A January window signing a couple of years ago! Russ Budden has watched him and said he doesn't rate him.
Geo a healthy scepticism of scarf man is good. I am delighted he is here but I don't think he is the Messiah likes many of our fans. I give little credit for signing Ajax's two best players. I will praise him if he fulfills his nickname the pearl diver
Pronounced Simon Rolf-ess (Just for info)
I think even if moyes stays as a coach he’ll be undermining Tim at every opportunity
I wish was in fkn Brazil on Sunday
If Sullivan doesnt start to utilise Tim's skillset to the MAX then we are in danger of turning him in to nothing more than a glorified ornament and we already appear to have one of them in Rob Newman. Correct me if i am wrong but wasn't Newman supposed to have excellent contacts in South America?!?!?!?!?!?!
Since Tim came in am i the only one who cannot recall anything being mentioned about Newman? Surely if Newman has worth to the club he should be integral in Tim's plans. If he isn't then surely with Moyes departure at the end of the season, Newman will be also leaving?????
How about Moyes son will he stay.
At any other club it takes for to five years
At West Ham it’s more like forty five years
Were going to have to hope. that the rumours of Sullivan reducing his stake and taking a backseat at the club are correct. He will not allow steitden to do his job properly if not . His ego comes ahead of everything .
This is terrible news. I was hoping Moyes would sign Harry Maguire and Ashley Young to bolster our defence and reduce the average age of our squad to about 39. Imagine Fabianski, Ogbonna, Maguire, Cresswell, and Young with a crocked Zouma as back up. No? I bet Moyes could and has!!! 🤣
I believe moyes knew the problem with the 2 different agents in January through the man who whispered in Sullivan's ear but didn't say anything to Tim because that's the kind of guy moyes is . I have no proof of this but it's something i could see unfolding but moyes is unraveling rapidly anyway off his own taçtics.
Of course you could see it.
Name of band and album you mentioned pls!
The K’s - I Wonder If The World Knows
Let me know what you think, seen them a few times now and it’s their debut album
Sorry will work
We need 2 centre halves a right back another midfielder a left winger and striker next season otherwise we will struggle ... That's 6 players and a new manager at a minimum
Our squad is depleted old and Moyes has run the players into the ground again.... What legasy has Moyes left ??
Yuri Alberto is a no for me, but I’m very encouraged he’s in Brazil making connections for the club
Geo, This is probably a mission to get players in before we sell Paqueta so we don't have to pay a 'Tax'
Been hearing this story since he arrived but Moyes still getting his own way 🤷🏻
What story?
Maybe he might bring Lanzini bach😅
I'm very excited about this...let's find those little gem for peanuts and sell for big money...only problem with that is Sullivan will get to used to it and get even tighter with hes money 😂😂
Do we need anymore players😂. We have 11
Great news, I hope Tim doesn't come back with a cheap Brazilian arse lift. 👀🤔😳
Think they only do those in Miami
Did it take 4 to 5 years to rebuild Leverkusen ??? NO 🤔
Depends what you mean really. I’d say yes….
It will be hard for us to ever complete a rebuild with the current protocol. By the time we've got new players in that work and bed them in, some of the players we've rinsed for two or three seasons are either useless or end up leaving.
@@lewis4929 Leverkusen are constantly rebuilding though hence my confusion, they’re always trying to sell a player for big money every summer in order to fund the next wave
They’ll be wanting to cash in this summer on a big player.
@@HammersChat I know mate. I was only talking about our situation. I know the squad management talk has been done to death, but I just can't see us ever having a replenished squad with Moyes here. Even if we spend 100m in the summer and bring in 5-6 new faces, a couple won't work out and we will have to let a few go (e.g potentially Zouma). So I think we will always be offsetting our losses for the most part. I know it's a negative viewpoint but it's how I feel. Hopefully Stediten can help this by finding some cheap gems.
Why would you tell the world where you are going and who you are scouting
Fans claiming Tim is responsible for appointing the next manager I suspect are going to be very disappointed. I’m not even convinced he was responsible for any of Leverkusen’s managers they hired under his watch. That’s not what he’s responsible for. It’s just player recruitment he’s a part of. I quite frankly don’t get where anyone has got the idea from he’ll be choosing the manager. He’s paid to work with ‘any’ manager that is hired by the chairman.
Tim really needs to start earning his wages this coming window as for me he’s not done enough in terms of incomings. He was only responsible for Dinos, who has a stinker every 4-5 games. The other signings he ‘negotiated’ and did a good job, but never actually identified those players.
Now, I’m not suggesting it’s all him, as unquestionably Sullivan is a nightmare to work with. But Tim needs to do a lot more, instead of coming home empty handed from Brazil like last year, or talking to the wrong agent.
He really needs to deliver this window. We can’t afford another radio silence from him. Less talk, more action. Hopefully he’ll do just that.
In terms of Tim having more power with incomings, that’s all down to the fans. If you want Sullivan to stop interfering, start the protests again. Show some banners at the grounds calling for Sullivan’s head. Because Sullivan has never changed throughout the years we’ve had the displeasure of having him as our owner. So, what makes you all think he’s all of a sudden going to change? Otherwise no one can have any complaints when Sullivan continues to stick his oar in.
That should be the number one priority. Get Sullivan out of the club! ⚒️
As much as i agree with the sentiment of your final point, it's not a fruitful endeavor.
@@Douglas-xs1bf I imagine it won’t happen fullstop as, like a lot of clubs, most fans don’t protest until things turn really sour, whether it’s a bad run of form, relegation struggle, etc. But things won’t 100% change until Sullivan goes. It’ll take more than a new manager to change anything, let alone Tim.
The pundits and top players are saying West Ham are a sleeping giant can you tell the chairman to stop giving my club sleeping tablets then please?
Steìdten has blagged a trip to Brazil. Right now having his Bollox inspected by some Brazilian Beauty.
Once dynosaurus-moyses has departed this won't work. Three people pulling in three different directions, does not work
If Tim the saviour of West Ham’s team and is as good as people are saying ,,why are we so short of good standard players to take us to the next level?
Ffs Tim don't tell moyses what you've seen.lets get rid of him firsy
MOYSE OUT NOW.
well... moyes out will do, think the club made it pretty clear moyes is moving on, the rebuild and new season is going to so exciting, especially in contrast to the start of this year
Why does he keep getting private jet instead of public? It costs a lot of money to maintain private jet which could be used better by the club
Did he go via private jet though? Genuine question.
I understand when bringing a new player over, the old schmooze factor
