I just don't think he would have been that powerful to kill ALL the HAND PICKED Temple Guards. A few yes I can believe that but not all. But thank you for the video and I'm a huge fan of your channel. Great work.
@@applepie1911e not really he doesnt fail at all. He freaking mocks them. He was very powerful clearly and only gets beat one time while playing around. He was also very calm and could have simply lured them and killed them one at a time
Well.... he was a temple guard. Why would the other guards be suspect of him. He would've been able to kill them or a few anyways without them suspecting anything
Doesn't necessarily mean that he killed all of them. He could've only killed a few, just enough to let Anakin in without a peep. Also, the Temple Guards hardly fought anyone, there wasn't much that they had to protect the Temple from. So I'm sure the Grand Inquisitor could pick them off relatively quickly.
He doesnt have to be able to kill all them at once. Might have just picked them off on at a time
@@applepie1911e Keep in mind that Cal Kestis too defeated the second most powerful Inquisitor in line (Trilla,) and after only a couple times of dueling with her. The Grand Inquisitor also dueled Kanan about four times before his ultimate demise. Both Cal and Kanan had about an equal amount of training when Order 66 disrupted all of that. So I think it's more like a matter of the will, most of the Inquisitors are broken and tormented former Jedi, they can become weakened in their pride and overconfidence, and when their opponent loses that fear factor.
As an example, the Grand Inquisitor didn't think of Kanan as much of a threat, but it wasn't until Kanan let go of his fear and drew upon the power of the Force and got the jump on the Grand Inquisitor. Kanan started using both his and Ezra's sabers and that began to overwhelm the Grand Inquisitor, when he was hitting him from all sides and becoming more confident in his strikes.
The fact Disney continues to overlook details like this allows you to pick up the slack and run with it. I noticed it right away, and I'm glad you did this video. There is really a lot more Disney can do to explain this oversight. you have done a pretty good job of doing it yourself. Great video.
A massive part of good story telling is to allow the viewer to piece the story together and fill in the gaps in their own way a way they find satisfying I highly doubt they people like Dave filloni overlooked this when finishing the clone wars

If the Grand Inquisitor did kill the other guards before Vader’s arrival, that means he knew when Vader would arrive which means he either met Vader or Sidious beforehand and it was all planned in coordination. If that’s the case, how did he find out that they were Sith or how did Sidious or Vader turn him? Did Sidious sense the doubt I’m his heart because he met him at Barriss’ trial and then begin to turn him?
What if before order 66 was officially ordered, GI freed Barris and together, sensing the coming attack, they escaped the order together killing any Jedi between them and their exit
i say it's just a coincedence that all this happened before operation nightfall (order 66) and then not long after vader leaving the temple he could sence the ex temple guards presence then the ex temple gaurd becomes the grand inquisitor

He met with sidious before, in the comics it shows this, and Sidious had plans for the inquisitors beforehand. Vader had no clue who the TGI was.
I think Barriss offee would have made a good inquisitor. Would have been an interesting foil for Ahsoka later.

I often wonder whether the point of that storyline was to show that she was actually a really good Jedi like Qui Gon who was so wedded to the beliefs of the order and couldn't watch what it had become - so I'd imagine we might see her again doing the opposite of what you predict perhaps she'll be helping Ahsoka
She definitely didn't turn to the dark side in the same way as like Pong Krell etc

@@DeCavalcante It's more that the Temple was supposed to be a place of training and rest for the Jedi as a whole. While the Jedi were capable of defending themselves, the Temple Guards were meant to be the first line of defense, giving the rest of the Jedi time to gather their wits and react as necessary. With the Temple Guards gone, the Jedi within the Temple didn't have those precious minutes to realize they were under attack until the clone were knocking on their doors.
Not to mention that with the amount of younglings and civilians within the Temple at any given time, the Jedi themselves would likely default to protecting them while the Temple Guards focused on containing and dealing with the threat. We see this more or less in Anakin's duel with Bariss where the guards stop Bariss from fleeing further into the Temple and while Anakin duels Bariss in the courtyard, the Master there (the one with the white lightsaber) stays between the fight and the younglings he was training with his lightsaber drawn.
Besides, the rest of the Jedi had many duties and roles beyond defending the Temple, so having Guards dedicated to that frees up the rest of the Jedi to do whatever it is that they're supposed to be doing.

I don’t think it’s likely or plausible that the Grand Inquisitor killed all the Temple Guards, especially before Order 66. Unless he was somehow Vader, I doubt he could kill all of his brethren by himself. I also believe that an attack like that couldn’t go unnoticed by any Star Wars media. You’d think that the death of almost all the Temple Guards would warrant at least a comic about it.

That would've been a horrible backup plan tbh. If the two strongest inquisitors (Grand Inquisitor and Trilla) got beat by padawans with jedi knight level training, then that means that the Grand Inquisitor would only be around mid jedi knight level. He wouldn't be able to kill half of the jedi there, much less jedi masters present like Cin Drallig and Minas Velti(jedi master who died in a Kenobi E1 flashback). Let's not forget that Anakin would've been in the temple. Grand Inquisitor would've gotten killed and the plan go to shit.

I think the Temple Guards were spread out on the outside of the temple by Cin Drallig when the jedi sensed the "disturbance in the force" which is why we don't see them. I think the Grand Inquisitor might have taken out the ones stationed at the temple entrance though.

Blue were defenders warriors green were knowledge seekers and more abt studying the force and yellow was a mix of those two purple mace windu channeled a little bit of the dark side so his lightsaber was purple

What I saw somewhere wss that, if you look into it, the Inquisitors are weaker Mauls, who went from an assassin to a whole problem because of how powerful he was, so giving them items and technology that could work in the same way but wouldn't allow them to reach that level of potential was a way of making sure they wouldn't become a problem

Because I believe that the temple guards (My favourite characters) had the motto of "no retreating" and just straight up rushed forward and killed five billions of 501st clone troopers. (Impossible, yes) but hey, it makes me happy thinking about it that way.
Btw the main reason why this is absolutely impossible, is because we see in the movie and in the games, that the jedis in the temple are surprised when attacked.
Meaning the temple guards either was not there OR that they have the most soundproof walls in the whole galaxy.

Because one of the best stabbed them in the back. They should have seen it coming, but everyone was surprised when Anakin betrayed them and he was as obvious as it got the more the Clone War went on, so a Temple Guard turning traitor would probably seem that much further from out of left field to them, since they're supposed to be "the most committed" members of the order.

The theory I wouldve written was that the Grand Inquisitor was able to kill 2 or 3 of the guards then the others were able to stop him and he retreats. Since one of their sacred brothers has now fallen, they must DISBAND as a unit in order to protect the remnants of the light side they have. (That should be a a rule. If one of the guards goes rouge, the rest have to go into hiding in order to protect the knowledge)
well. That's one way to fix a plot hole about temple guards not existing before the making of the clone wars show.

There are way too many holes in this. I love the grand Inquisitor. What to think one man killed Sentinels. Who in the past would hunt down and eat dark siders for breakfast. Even if he killed three or four at a time. The other Jedi would have realized this. Plus why didn't Vader remember him when they 1st met? Plus the clones never told that they might have have a ally. I would like to see how he did so.
Temple guards didn't hunt seth though, they guarded the temple from them, Jedi Sentinels was the ones that hunted the Sith. Both had beautiful yellow sabers but one was like a spike and one was the whole blade.
Good what if episode, what if the grand Inquisitor failed to kill the temple guards and they were still around the jedi temple for order 66? Perhaps before they would be killed by anakin they would be able to save a few more jedi that escape?

I still don't like how easily Reva had it with him. I thought he'd see that coming for sure and put her down but he moved like a robot as well. When the grand inquisitor is an acrobat and skilled in multiple lightsaber techniques he's extremely perceptive I just don't think he'd get caught off guard like that unless he too was so blinded by finding Kenobi but I still don't believe that.

The apparent speed and ease that the Jedi temple fell is one of the most glaring fumbles in all of Star Wars. There really should have been only two options just from a purely tactic/logic point of view. Either there should have been an emergency evacuation plan, in which all of the younglings and 90% of the personnel in the temple get out. Or a VERY long, bloody and difficult battle with MASSIVE casualties on both sides, but especially among the Empire. No explanation can get around that gapping mismatch.
A lot of the jedi's at the temple weren't soldiers or warriors, younglings and acolytes and older Jedi. All the Jedi knights and masters were fighting the war. The greatest fighters were Generals and we know how that went. MTFBWY.
@@Sk4M_.RangeroftheNorth Agree. Not all Jedi are Masters, and not all Jedi are even skilled Knights. So though they maybe Jedi, a lot there are probably Younglings & Padawans deep in study, or just lower ranked Jedi that aren't as skilled in fighting (like teachers).

When I looked up which Jedi had the yellow lightsabers there was only two types of Jedi that could carry yellow lightsabers Temple guards and Jedi Sentinels Temple guards had hidden identities and dual bladed yellow lightsaber sticks Sentinels had full blade lightsabers and we're usually single blade Temple guards were basically security and Sentinels was the cops that hunted down Jedi that turned on them and Sith Lords. Both of which is main job was to stay in the background unless needed.

Most likely him and Palps knew about his business and didn’t see him as a threat to them, perhaps a threat to the Grand Inquisitors in combat & strength in Sith’s abilities

Maybe the actor that played the role of the grand Inquisitor in Kenobi was the best one and was deserving of it but I really don't like the way they made him look. Same with the 5th brother. They don't look intimidating they just look Goofy. Maybe they went overboard with the prosthetics and makeup! The grand Inquisitor had a skinny face with boney cheeks. I don't know I think they just could have done a better job but if he was better get acting then the rest of the people auditioning that is a small sacrifice to make.

how long did the inquisitors last They were not seen or mentioned in a Star Wars "A new Hope"
How can the grand inquisitor have been vaders inside man if when they met in the jedi library they fought, until vader revealed he was just testing his armor and then owned him. But they had no idea who the other was yet.. it was in vaders marvel comic series.
i don't think it needs a deep conspiracy to explain their sudden disappearance. I also don't think there was any time for the future grand inquisitor to coordinate any such internal attack with Vader, who had literally just turned to the dark side and was immediately given the order to march on the temple.
I would assume the temple guards were simply the first to be gunned down. By the time we see the clones deep in the temple interior, they have already come past the entrances where the guards would be stationed. It wasn't shown on screen, but against that many troopers, thy would likely have just been overwhelmed, especially as they would initially have not seen the clones as enemies until the shooting started.
Also got to keep in mind it’s unrealistic he killed all of them because thier are hundreds of different Jedi temples that had them however the Jedi temple we think of was essentially thier main headquarters where most Jedi were stationed so it had the most guards

ngl i really need to know if it's true/canon the grand killed them because i believe i heard that all the guards were left for Vader and for no trooper to deal with them for how tough they were during operation knight fall and i also believe that if this did happen grand must of know of Vader before knight fall to do this and in the Vader comics which are canon grand and Vader fought after the whole new Empire not knowing who is who until The Emperor told him right after their fight that they are allies and this is when Vader found out about the inquisitors so in my view I'm just going to take this as your opinion/theory about what could of happen

Even the best warriors would eventually be overwhelmed by a large force. If the entire 501st Legion accompanied Vader, then yes, even the Temple Guards would have been overwhelmed, especially if they are completed surrounded.
I'm kinda iffy on this. Because Anakin shows up when 66 is actived. Which means he and the 501st either A) killed a good amount of the Temple Guards. Or B) captured them to turn them in the Inquisitors and to the Dark Side.
But we only really have information about the Grand Inquisitor who was in fact a temple guard who was tortured and turned to the dark side and charged with leading and hunting other Jedi and Force Sensitive individuals (due to Kenobi and Rebels).

I love almost everything about the story of the fall and rise of the empire but seriously. Even Anakin if we're honest was not good enough to fight all of the temple guards especially given what the whole fucking point of the sentinel Jedi was, let alone the grand inquisitor.

I always thought Anakin/Vader just killed them all as he marched into the temple, as we don't see much of him while he's there, other than killing the younglings.

Even if he doesn't kill everyone, Vader would for sure. That's most powerful Vader, he lost a lot of his powers when he started to use his suit, and we know that Palpatine purposely weakened Vader just because to stop him right away to challenge him for the power/emperor, his suit presented big limitations for Vader. Someone would say that Vader got stronger in the force, oh well he obviously didn't watch clone wars and the episodes when he founded light and dark representatives of the both force sides, he was stronger than both of them. From that day she (light side of the force in the pure form) when being killed by her own brother and Anakin was possessed by the dark side already, then when she saved the life of Asoka - light side was in the Asoka forever - that's why she was purefies the crystals so fast to see her blades pure white, we all know that the crystals are taking up color from their owners.
Anyway my point is that Anakin/Vader was the strongest and there's a possibility that that the Vader already defeated them before entering the temple.
How could he have won a solo fight against all those guards?

Vader and the Inquisitorius didn't meet until after the Galactic Empire was established. Thus Vader and the Grand Inquisitor had no sort of connections. Thus it the chancellor manipulating everything

I find it hard to believe that the Grand Inquisitor could have killed every single Jedi Temple Guard when he lost to Kannan Jarrus in single combat.
Edit considering how big the Jedi Temple is there must have been dozens of Temple Guardsmen and only somebody like Yoda, Palpatine, Mace Windu and pre-suit Vader could pull that off.
