    Step 1: bulk heroclix
    Step 2: re-base as needed
Step 3: hide the sins with literally just black paint
This is the best "just get minis on the table" approach ever. Great vid!

    Let's talk about miniatures!
You think Slap Chop is fast?
Try Blackout, brought to you by Mashed Potato Studios.
Great to see you painting again!

This is an impressive tip. I was doubting then it just clicked (just clicked not heroclicked).

Thanks for the video! For Heroclix and Mage Knight minis, put them in the freezer for an hour or more and the base glue become brittle making them even easier to remove. Save the bases to craft some terrain, like bases for trees or groups of crates and barrels. Mage Knight minis are even cheaper and closer to D&D monsters already if that is the game someone is playing.

I use a hobby knife to remove the half circle base as well as I like to have my minis on thin transparent bases.

I haven't had much luck cutting through that glue with blade.

Instead of risking damage to the feet, pop those spandex clad clowns in the freezer and they'll come right off the base in a couple of hours. It will make your life easier when you go at them with the chisel, hobby knife or other means of mayhem.

Can't beat that return on investment!
Have the newer Heroclix adapted to the more grimdark look of superhero shows and movies, or are they still bright and comic book-y?

They're all over the place. It depends on what the particular set is based on more than anything. Some are based on movies, video games, modern comics, classic comics etc.
